"SUV" is pretty much a North American term; that term, and class of vehicle, isn't widely know in Europe.

Ian.

I see. I thought SUV was a well-known word like sedan or wagon. So then, what are SUVs called in Europe? :oo

No idea, you should know that those cars aren't that common here in Europe (or at least Germany)...

Similar cars are jeeps (but most of them are smaller), some pick-ups (only real pick-up fans drive that large things, gasoline price reasons.... :( ) or mini-vans (like the Ford Galaxy, Chrysler Voyager, VW Sharan....)

But THAT big cars like the SUVs you see only very rarely here.... ;)

That is funny because here in the US it seems like just about everyone has an SUV. And the richer you are, the larger it gets. ;)

Anyone think that the idea of set 7241 (Fire Car) came from this extremely similar set, 6511 (Rescue Runabout)?

This set proves to my that Lego is at least trying to "return to the basics".

'Sedan' & 'wagon' aren't widely used either (at least not in the UK).

As for SUV, like I said before, the "term, and class of vehicle, isn't widely know in Europe.". I know it because I watch too much imported TV & spend two much time in the US for work (over 2 months this year).

Would a Range Rover be classed as a SUV in the US ? That we would probably call an "off-roader" or "4-by-4".

It sure looks that way all the new city sets seem to have the classic look but also look fresh and new at the same time. :)

Exactly, vader316. I just purchased all of the fire sets, and after doing a little research, they are all derived from earlier sets. The thing I like, though, is that the only new pieces (albeit a few exceptions, not many) are USEFUL ones.
