Bobskink Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 hmm, now I see this again, I think I've put this in the wrong section, kinda misinterprated "The Embassy". Sorry for the inconveniance mods, but the message still stands Quote
KimT Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Nice bobskink. Not quite sure where to put it, so I've moved it to LEGO News & General. Perhaps someone a little more enlightened will come by and decide against it. It's minifigs and I think they belong in Town - it would be easier had you used SW figs Nice idea and I'm sure it'll bring joy and happiness to your home. Quote

Anyways, great idea, now we need a brick-built tree with LED lights! (Maybe next year) Quote
buddy Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I agree that this is a great idea for Christmas tree decorations. ~buddy~ Quote
Big Cam Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Great idea, I love how versatile LEGO can be. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Great use of the Collectible Minifigures, nice one Bobskink! But if you have more of those figs, it would be nice to see more of them in your tree. Quote
RoryoCox Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Nice use of minifigures. It's a bit scarce as it is maybe stick some 10188 Death Star's in there a bobbles Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 perhaps the series mini-figure discussion? Anyways, great idea, now we need a brick-built tree with LED lights! (Maybe next year) With LEGO lights- that is, someone willing to deck out a tree with 200 PF lights. Quote
Cutty Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Haha! Or better: HoHoHo! That is an awesome idea! Were I still celebrating christmas, I'd probably ste..., errm, "borrow" your idea Peaceful holidays to you! Quote
Bobskink Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Were I still celebrating christmas, I'd probably ste..., errm, "borrow" your idea Peaceful holidays to you! Please borrow my idea. I don't celebrate christmas either, but my girlfriend wanted some christmas lights so I made her happy and I made myself happy. Next year i'll do the same but then there will also be series 3 and 4, so it will look mush better. Maybe ad a Lego stable aswell... It would be cool if someone did a themed tree. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Ideally, you would have Christmas balls on your tree... specifically, these ones. That way, you could build a mini-vignette for each minifig. They'd stand out a lot more than they do in that photo, that's for sure. Of course, I've seen those ornaments at Toys 'R' Us, and they're awfully expensive. And online availability seems to vary greatly (although lucky you; S@H does offer them in Belgium). Getting enough for a collectible minifigure collection that big would be a costly endeavor! Quote

Didn't someone do a Star Wars one a couple years back, only with keychains using the key rings to attach the minifigs to the branches? Quote

Got them cheap at a brand store during the last post-Christmas sales. Dr. D. Quote
indyman09 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Haha, that's great. I always make some little place of lego, filled with minifig-scaled presents and christmas trees with led lights and a lot of minifigures. But this may be a better idea, think I'm going to do that next year . Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 That is very nice! I don't think my family would let me decorate our tree with minifigures though... Better have them stay safe and warm in my room, away from the evil dog! Quote
