Is that a ticket window or can you put a bench there for waiting passengers?

Maybe also add one of those little red hand trolleys with a few suitcases.

:classic: :classic:

Yep, that's a ticket window. I might have a spare hand trolley and for that bench seat....hmm, not sure where to stick it.

Another quick written update, the disused train station has been converted on the inside to a....hmm, a clue to guess.....taste a heavy red ? :drunk: (oops give away  )

Updated photos in the next few days, camera out of action at the moment (wife got it back :wall: )!

Sounds like somewhere you might do off the rails.

:classic: :classic:

Maybe.

I have just finished a rainwater tank to go along side this as a gap filler between the back of this and the side of the police station.....also a pretty green fern/palm growing in half a standard wine barrel.

Dam, I must get that camera back.

What to do today ?

I know fit the train station, even though it's a disused one (sort of...hic) into the town layout today and see what else needs to be done on the west side of the train line before working again on the east side of said train line.....so I say keep watching later on today for photo updates (as long as I can get the camera back of the wife  ).

Brick On everyone !

Nice town

love the decals as well,it is missing the local fire dept  and you need to stock some lego kits in one of your shops:classic:

Thanks 'Alasdair', yes I will build a new fire station at a later date.....again ! And the Target store in the shopping centre will stock Lego, but that is on hold till after the final two west side buildings are completed. To tell the truth, the pub's frontage is almost done, but sorry to let some of you down on it....single level art deco, and just a front bar too.....money is very tight and parts are starting to run low in some places.

Hopefully tomorrow I can post fresh photos.....again if the wife lets me !:laugh:

Very nice! I really like how the town looks all together. The use of classic town styled buildings is great; you've been able to make them very realistically detailed--quite impressive!

It's all coming together very nicely, LT!!!

The Deere dealership looks brilliant, and the tractor is perfect. Can't wait to see the "converted" train depot.

Just curious, have you been collecting minifigs along the way, or will there be a monster purchase for residents and vehicles at the end of the build (assuming New Mannum will stop growing)?

Again, keep it up, the classic style-modern is great.

Thanks 'drevim' and 'Mariko' for your kind words, now on minifigs, yes I have been collecting them with my son....handy body parts for customs !

What has been recently shown...like last week....here on EB is the west side of New Mannum, the east side will contain the Ford Dealership and shopping centre, plus a road house and extra highway.....one thing that will hold the east side back is lack of funds....yep, scratch, money, cash, whatever you like to call it. The old train station and pub have been or are being built out of what I have in my stock pile.

Hopefully, images later today....fingers crossed.

Keep on watching !

I looked through the archives of the Town forum and found your shopping centrer and Ford Dealership; and they both look fantastic! I'm sure they'll fit great in your layout.

I loom forward to seeing the new buildings you've made!

Thanks 'Captain Tamamono', I still have lots of work to do to both those other creations....again money is need to finish both.

In any case at the moment the train station is being fitted the train line and it looks fantastic in it's new vocation.....dam, no camera, lost the pack of sticker paper and no money to buy tiles for the Ford Dealer or the shopping centre....man, bad luck must be following me ! :cry_sad:

I'll keep going......keep on watching !

Yes no money no nothing.....

Same thing in my house...

The only good news today is I have earn't some cash yesterday, and more work on today.....so I might be able to get some parts today......oh, that pub looks like it will get an interior then !

Keep on watching and don't forget suggestions are still welcome ! :sweet:

Can you tell me please how you go about decaling your parts i would love to start makeing a small town of my own. :classic:

Ah, someone else who wants my secret eh ?

Okay, first......material....photographic sticker paper, mine come from Officeworks in a 20 pack of 4x6 sheets.

Second, a good ink jet printer....then search on say Google want you want to use and download the image.

Now open MS paint and edit the image resizing it and scaling within reason with bricks and/or minifigs.

Print out on photo sticker paper, cut, peal, stick on the brick/panel/tile/torso.

Done.

Play around with it try, try and more trying - experience is the only real way of learning this trick.

Good luck to those willing to try.

Keep watching everyone !

Oh i had another idea for you a hospital. :classic:

Ah, 'Alasdair' that thought had come to my mind as well, and once I had a X-ray/CT scan suite built but other builds took over. My wife loves medical shows...etc., I'll see if she wants to help me design a hospital for my town.

A hilltop Victorian style building might be nice !

Working still on the west side, hopefully photos tomorrow !

You could made a moterized ct scaner for your hospital with a motor. :sweet:

An interesting idea, if I do a hospital it will mainly have an ER and an OR to it....the challenge will be the exterior not the interior.

Finally update time......

0000_1_new_mannum_076.jpg

The station house was way too tall, so I converted just to a simple platform....I just need to tile the studs on of it.

0000_1_new_mannum_075.jpg

Here's what I have now started......can anyone guess what it might be ?

Another street shot.

Comments and suggestions are still very welcome ! :sweet:

More to come and keep on watching !

I like the new train platform.

Is that the start of the pub I can see?

:classic: :classic:

Thanks 'AJ' and yes, it's a pub with beer !

The exterior work is nearly finished, then the interior - but I have already started work on the bar !

Keep watching everyone !

You've done a great job of making a South Aussie town! It's all great, but for some reason the protruding 'Police' sign really captures the look of driving into an Australian town for me. I guess its because just about every main street you drive down on a cross-country trip has one of those.

So will New Mannum get an old solitary cannon at the end of the main street to protect it?
