lightningtiger Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Okay, now what does everyone think of this layout, I'm very happy with it as I feel it just seem to fit just right. Keep on watching......more to come ! Quote
Out of Sight Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Oh, no misunderstanding at all 'Out of Sight', no...no...no..., it's not that easy to mount a roo bar to the front of this ute.....I try in the next two days. I wished Lego would make to minifig scale kangaroo's, but well maybe one day ! Though I diddn't even say anything to do with pubs/bars/or drinking....ah, well....Keep on watching......out for Skippy.....The Bush Kangaroo ! Hmm..I guess I misunderstood..I thought when you said filling a gap, you were refering to build a building as in a bar/pubs Sorry mate Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Hmm..I guess I misunderstood..I thought when you said filling a gap, you were refering to build a building as in a bar/pubs Sorry mate No problems 'Out of Sight', I'm still thinking of making an Aussie pub someway down the track, but first I want to get this train show done and dusted. K.O.B. everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 The town is FINISHED ! ......but my train track has problems.....not enough or right pieces of track.....dam, looks like a trip to Toy Corner for me ! So here's the latest shots. Comments welcome as always ! K.O.B. ! Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Wonderful I love the billboards section plus the new update. I just saw or might be a little confused but it looks as if the Landmark store has some air bubble forming under the sticker, I hope it was just the flash. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Thanks 'Fuzzy' for your comments, yeah I have to fix the sticker with some glue sadly. Just spoke to guy in charge of the train show.....OMG ! I'm part of a show worth half a million bucks ! Anyway, on Friday and right through the weekend I'll be posting etc., from the show. K.O.B. everyone ! Quote
TanTile Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Good Luck this weekend LT!! hope you have a blast and take plenty of photos, your lay out is inspiring to me, makes me want to start my own little town will you keep these after the show or will you use them for new MOCs in the future? Quote

Thanks 'TanTile' for the positive feedback, yeah I should have fun - though I'm the only one flying the Lego flag. Now you ask about my buildings, you bet they'll stay together, maybe some modifications but none will hit the scrapheap at all ! Hey, why don't you start you own town eh ? K.O.B. ! Quote
TanTile Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 awesome news that they will stay intact, For sure just finding the space to sit and build as well as juggling 2 kids under 4 makes it hard to find the necessary time to start by the time the kids are in bed asleep i want to go too such is life i can tell you now they wouldn't be half as good as what yours are, plenty of ideas but lack of technique Quote

Time wise - well, yeah that can be a problem, but if you keep the design simple yet realistic a shop could take less than a half hour to build from scratch. Now don't go saying 'TanTile' that your work won't be as good as mine or anyone else's - everyone has there own style and flare in MOCing....so go for it 'TT' and K.O.B. always ! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 You have a really nice town there Lightningtiger, All of those lovely buildings. I'm happy to hear that you will be keeping those buildings after all of the hard work you've put into them Looking forward to see your future work Quote
JopieK Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 It's a very nice building, Michelin: Two brothers, Édouard and André Michelin, ran a rubber factory in Clermont-Ferrand, France. One day, a cyclist whose pneumatic tyre needed repair turned up at the factory. The tyre was glued to the rim, and it took over three hours to remove and repair the tyre, which then needed to be left overnight to dry. The next day, Édouard Michelin took the repaired bicycle into the factory yard to test. After only a few hundred metres, the tyre failed. Despite the setback, Édouard was enthusiastic about the pneumatic tyre, and he and his brother worked on creating their own version, one which did not need to be glued to the rim. Michelin tyre plant in Waterville, Nova Scotia Michelin was incorporated on 28 May 1888. In 1891, it took out its first patent for a removable pneumatic tyre which was used by Charles Terront to win the world's first long distance cycle race, the 1891 Paris–Brest–Paris. Thanks to wikipedia! Quote

TanTile Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Butt nipping..... really? I thought you nipped it in the bud, but then again I'd say bud any way i wasn't sure if it was butt or bud so i made an executive decision and chose butt(should have goggled it) i guess i was wrong, but hey whats new?.. just ask my wife Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 Yeah, it is bud isn't it eh ? Well, the town is packed inn three boxes ready for Friday. Tomorrow, is Lego city day, where I work out which sets go along as well ! Brick On everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 19 HOURS TO GO ! Must NOT panic, New Mannum will be on public show for the first time plus a stack of city sets to fill the gap to one side.....well I have 7 metres to fill ! I'll be keeping or trying to at least up to date on the train show, which I might have to post over in the train forum.....hmm, I might PM 'Hinckley' and ask tomorrow. Anyway, keep on watching everyone ! (to see if I have a breakdown ) Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 Very nice! Typical American ciy Thanks 'Ezechielle', only it's a typical Aussie country town commonly found in the far outreaches of each state. But I guess our town layouts are inspired by different countries town layouts depend on who settled there in the first place. Under 12 hours now, me worried.....no, I think I'm going to have fun....I hope ! I might just do some MOCing while I'm there, what though I don't know ? Keep on watching everyone ! Quote
