Izzy Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I just took 2 seconds with my camera, a piece of my daughters dark blue cardboard, and a Duracell torch and came up with this photo. A mockery of a Motivational Poster I liked, redone in LEGO. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Lovely shot Iz! Kudos for pulling-off such challenging shot-in-a-dark-setting. Your photo turned out perfectly well despite the dimly-lit surroundings. Great job and good luck in the contest! BTW, I had the same idea for the contest, though using different less-popular characters, but I guess you beat me to it. Now back to the drawing board for me... Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Wow, some people are just amazing with a camera Quote
Clone OPatra Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 That's a lovely shot Iz. I'm not sure if you did the haze purposefully or not, but it works well for this "steamy" scene. There is only one criticism I have of your shot, and that is the visibility of the studio line in the background. Maybe the Reviewers' Academy has made me a bit too anal about it, but I truly think your shot would look better if you could edit it out in some way. I'm sure it is possible, though not easy. Your pic looks great as is, but getting rid of that studio line would make it even better. Quote
Izzy Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 Thanks for the comments! Yeah, I experimented with different angles of the camera and torch to get most of the hazy light on Leia (to get a bit of colour around her, for interests sake, so it wasn't all black), is it still sooooo obvious she is practically naked? That's the only outfit I have for her. Haha! Because Luke is already wearing black I wanted him to be in the shadows. It worked quite well for the steamyness effect. I wanted the photo to be dark and not-quite-right, just like the whole Luke'n'Leia thing! Quote

RileyC Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Haha hilarious! What if to add christmas into the shot, maybe a mistletoe over them? But its a lovely shot and good luck! Quote
Darth Yogi Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Very nice shot. It is very clear for the mere seconds you said it took. Good luck in the contest. Great job Quote
Sisco Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Saucy ! I like this. I think I've seen that poster before... Where did you see it? Quote
Ras 74 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 There is only one criticism I have of your shot, and that is the visibility of the studio line in the background. Where do you even see that? I looked at this picture both on home computer (not so good one) and now work computer (awesome machine) and I can´t see that at all. I think the shot is great. Good lighing versus the shadows in the picture. So far one of my favs. Quote
Izzy Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Funny that you say that Ras, as I have been noticing people commenting on different things during this contest that I can't really see on my MAC. Especially Cloney's comment, so I always check on my iPhone as well and on my Mum's computer (Some Windows shite) when I can. And so far have not noticed a real difference. I can't see the studio line to fix it... Quote
Big Cam Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 LOL, ok now I am typing LOL, because I actually laughed out loud and I'm at work, and people looked at me. Hilarious and a great shot. Your pic looks great as is, but getting rid of that studio line would make it even better. Where is the studio line? I've been staring at it and I don't see it. there is so little blue showing to begin with. Quote
