One thing I still miss in the Technic trucks is opening doors. The last one was the tow truck from 2006. I know that they are closed for rigidity, but I think it's a missed 'playing' possibility.

What about 8052?

Only the TLG employees probably. But I wonder why there are no pictures of the bucket truck.

Thanks for the link to this picture, JunkstyleGio.

My hope for 8071 was, that it would have a mini LA. But from this picture I rather conclude that it uses a Worm Screw and a 24 Tooth Gear for raising the platform.

Here is the picture from JunkstyleGio.

Personally I'm not interested at all in this bucket truck. So 2H models on my list is only the unimog. Hope the extreme cruiser is something else than a motorbike (which I'm not so interested in).

Great pics !

Some words about the pics :

Steering with the 20 tan at the back. Then, probably 12t + 7L rack.

Independent outriggers, both with 1 12t in the "trunk". It works like the 8067 mini mobile crane.

The knobs on the sides : one for the turntable, the other one for elevating the arm.

The first uses 2 8t. The second uses worm gear + 24t.

With the pics, we can also see other gears in the chassis : a LBG 16t, a tan 20t, and 2 yellow knob wheels.

The hood can be opened, same for the doors.

One more thing : it is not the same box that we could see on the photos of the past days.

Here, we can clearly see the part number on the box (593).

On other technic sets, the part number is not written.

This is a northamerican box.

Look like we get a white liftarm 1 x 13 thick.

Yes and I believe this now completes the array of liftarms in white, except for the 1 x 2 liftarm. :)

1x7 and 1x11 are in the recent helicopter

1x5, 1x9 and 1x15 were in the tracked crane

1x3 is in the combine

Also we have seen 2 x 4, 4 x 6/3 x 7 and 5 x 9 (double-bent) liftarms in the recent Technic fire engine. Only the 3 x 5 L-shape is missing. And also we have some of the new panels in white now. I hope this is an indication of more white sets to come in the future. The parts are there. :)

The white truck looks ok. kind of similar to the fire truck from a few years ago except smaller.

not sure when I will get more. I have just brought the rest of the 2010 sets which is on its way over now, but I am back to uni on Monday, so I will be a bit tight for money.

extreme cruiser sounds interesting.

I have a couple of white 3x5 liftarms from the 1:10 Ferrari F1. I quite like white pieces actually. :classic:

Hi,

I've found how 8071 works.

First, easy, the steering : 12t/rack 7L. Ok, everyone already knew that.

Same for the outriggers with the 2 black knobs at the back.

But the 2 other (and main) functions were harder to find.

So, the knob on the left of the truck is used to rise the arm.

A 16t with a 20t double bevel. This 20t is with an other 20t double bevel (not 100% sure about this one, there are maybe 2 knob wheels instead) to get a vertical axis. Then, worm gear/24t.

The knob on the right of the truck is used to rotate the arm.

There is 16t/20t double bevel again. Then, there is 2 knob wheels to get a vertical axis. And eventually, there is 1 8t (yes, I wrote 1, not 2) which works with the crown of the turntable (56t). The second 8t is not really used in the mechanism. Actually, it is attached with a blue pin with friction. Thus, it is here for the bucket not to be too much shaken.

edit : sorry for the mistakes I may have done.

I wrote basic sentences for the message to be understandable since my English is not good enough to well explain that kind of things.

On his Flickr photostream, Barman76/ barebos has "reverse-engineered" the 8071 (2H2011) set and posted the four pictures below. He also posted a

showing all of the 8071's functions. He wrote, "Thanks to Flickr member fbtb for posting the photos of the Technic set 8071 on 2011 Toy Fair. Because of this I could reverse engineer this set. There where a view details I had to guess which part(s) where used. So with a couple of misstakes I think I come pretty close to the original set."
