Anio Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 8043 was a big bump up in price around here, while in Europe it seems to have been about the same as previous sets. 195€ in France. Quote
RockeTeK Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) You guys shouldve come to Holland to buy the 8043! OT: I feel like I spend more time on flipping pages, rather than building a model. I understand why TLG would simplify the instructions, but they have gone to far (imo). Example: I recently rebuilt the 8868 (Air-Tech-Claw-Rig), and what an HUGE difference between old and new... Compared to 8043, the build took about the same time, but was much more exciting with the 8868, simply because of the fact that you have to pay attention, rather than flipping the page. As said: for us AFOLs, the new style instructions might be a bit lame, but for kids, this suits better (although the simplification went a bit too far). Edited February 2, 2011 by RockeTeK Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 In Sweden both the 8043 Motorized Excavator and 8258 Crane Truck has a MSRP of SEK 1.899,-, that's £184/€215/US$298 with todays values. LEGO-prices in the US has always been low compared to Europe, the competition against other brands are more fierce there. Quote
davidmull Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Tread way of topic again,it's not a price tread! So who's going to the toy fair tomorrow to take pics ;) Quote
davidmull Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Any updates from the toy fair nurberg yet on these sets? Quote
legolijntje Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Has anyone see pictures of the new sets at a toyfair? There are pictures from kingdoms and ninjago and alien quest (or something), but no technic . Quote

DLuders Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 TLG to AFOLs: No spying allowed! See this story on the Brothers Brick. Quote
davidmull Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I'm lost, does this mean no pics so ;( Quote
efferman Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 TLG must have presented a very big surprise for us, which they dont want published before their own second halfyear catalogue. is the extreme cruiser an RC motorbike or something else revolutionary? Quote
Anio Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I REALLY hope that the more TLG will struggle against those who show the news sets, the more people will share the leaks they know. Even if TLG pisses us off on that, TLG is bound to fail. haha. Quote
davidmull Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 So why has there been pics other years so and what's different about this year? When do Lego normally show pics of the 2h sets? Quote
wildboar Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I understand there is no pics, but why noone mentioned what was shown? It would be enough for the teaser just to know what was shown, if we can't right now see pics. Quote
dr_spock Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Maybe they made everyone signed a NDA. Quote
AndroTech Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 IMO, if something is put on display at the Toy Fair, that's NOT spying. That's just taking pictures and showing them to your ''friends'' on internet. off topic: Mercedes introducced new SLS e-cell electric vehicle, on Detroit Motor Show. It won't be in productuion for quite some time, but I don't see them complaining, becouse people has taken some pictures. Quote
kris kelvin Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Spying not spying :D Pictures are made by Screamer from Lugpol. Quote

BrickWild Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Thanks for the pics! More models please! Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Thanks! Nice snotted front mask! Maybe the main designer is Markus? B model is a plow? Just what I thought! I see big yellow springs! They are at an angle too! And the whole wheels assemby is at an angle which means only one thing. LIVE AXLES! There is a piston engine isnide cab, but i cant see if its a 4x4. It may be seeing the size of the front axle assembly. I think the cab can tilt forward to see the engine. Quote

They look similar to those used on the Black Cat Giant Truck! Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 And the mini piston in the claws is back! There are some grills drawn on the back of the box which arent on the real model. Quote
freakwave Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 and ORANGE color?!! Lego had a look at the vote on TechnicBricks? Great! Thanks a lot for the pictures! Looks like a very well designed model that packs a number of functions. Althoguh I cannot figure out waht they mean with the pictograms on "Foto32" on the right hand side. I like the slanted positioning of the pneumatic switch on the snow-plough! fW Quote
