Clone OPatra Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Deep into the night on some unknown world, a battle droid stands sentry. This night, like all others, has been still and uneventful, for little ever happens on this far-flung planet. But this night will not remain so dull for long; for, without a single sound, Aayla Secura stealthily hastens towards the first of her prey… The motion blur was captured in camera. Computer editing was only used to tweak the lighting and colors. If you like, see it on Flickr. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 (edited) Excellent motion blur effect, but is it just me, but I don't see any Christmas element on this entry (?) No offense meant. Edited December 25, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
RileyC Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 This is what Im talking about! This is a really nice shot. Its like a mix of Fenris and Smkokebelch's techniques in one photo. Though it doesnt really have anything christmasy, maybe if you swapped the BD for Santa maybe it would bring the christmas to the party Nice work Clonie Quote
Blackknight112 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I agree there is no xmas in it, its still a good shot Quote
KimT Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Including X-Mas is not a rule - we've said that it's X-Mas and as such it should be included. But reading through the rules it does NOT state that you have to. So it's all good. Quote
Darth Yogi Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 This a great shot. the effect of Aalya is awesome. I think it would look better with a Christmas effect, but its great anyway. Good luck in the contest. Great job Quote

But reading through the rules it does NOT state that you have to. So it's all good. Oh, hmm… yeah, I really did not see that X-Mas had to be included at all. I read it as X-Mas Photo Contest was just the name of the contest because it was a photo contest at Christmas time; I didn't realize it was supposed to include something Christmasy. Maybe I should've figured it out from the other entries, although really I didn't find Izzy's Christmasy either, so I didn't really notice a trend. Well, I have no more time to work on a new picture anyway, so it'll just have to be that. Quote

Which is the right interpretation. X-mas inclusion is optional. Quote

X-mas inclusion is optional. My entry doesn't have any Christmas connotations. I read through the rules a couple of times and decided to go with my original idea as it was optional to add a bit of Festivity. The lighting is great, and I must say Cloney, this shot looks soooo good on my iPhone ... but the bigger I see it (like in Flickr on my computer) the less impressive it looks, and for the life of me I can't figure out why.
