Wait, dark blue? To me in the prelims it looks like the human vehicles are a shade of a new color? Something between violet meets dark blue...

It could be the lighting in the photo, can anyone id the color?

Contrary to my initial defense of "blue" here I reckon you might have a point: could this be the return of that "King-Mathias-blue" from KK2? That would be some darker hue of blue with a tint of violet.

Still the fig's uniforms are worlds away from being baby-blue. Pretty obvious really! Maybe TLC graced them with an entirely new colour somewhat lighter than regular blue, yet I doubt that.

In some of the scanned pics the vehicles and uniforms do not differ so much in colour at all, so my best guess would be to actually wait for a)clearer pics to appear or b)TLC disclosing its 2011 palette which might give some insight into the matter. Either cannot take so much longer...

edit: looked at some higher-resolution scans just now and found the vehicles and uniforms actually BEING different! The vehicles seem darker, yet not quite dark enough to be the dark-blue we know!

There's a plot thickening here...

Well there goes my budget for 2011. This theme has got me really excited, and should integrate nicely with my SP3 sets. The only problem now is waiting for pics of wave 2.

He was speeding, running red lights and not stopping at stop signs, I know I'd use my freeze ray if I saw someone doing that.

What sort of police state are they "protecting" out there? How ridiculous to have red lights as the guide, anyone who is speeding will be well over the speed of light to start with so this is totally ineffective. I am with Vexorian on this.

Even more egregious is Raid VPR. What is Rench doing wrong? Bearing arms? the description is: Equipped with twin flick-launching freeze-ray blasters, the Space Police's Raid VPR super-pursuit spacecraft is ready to chase down any criminal in Galaxy City. But when Rench comes to town, the Space Police Commando will need all of his hi-tech vehicle's speed and maneuverability to bring an end to the space-crook's futuristic crime spree! On what grounds? The judging happened before the conviction in this case, it is absolutely clear species profiling.

Back on Alien conquest, sweet hi-res pics! I am liking this more and more. The exposed brain on the alien commander is a briliant touch (if the designer is reading, please can we have it in a bubble helmet?), so is the abduction function - I guess a magnet in legs. Awesome. I really hope these guys are payback for Mars Mission.

Those trans blue-clear discs on the mothership are massive!

Yes indeed, it looks like a horn piece in the same lime green as the alien head. Personally I like that head mold the most; it looks the most-classic alien of of all of them.

So, there's a new double-blaster. I can't see myself using them, though it's nice to have more weapons. It's also a little strange that some sets have sound functions, etc. I don't think I've ever gotten a sound or light brick, so I have no idea if the batteries are replaceable...

I don't really like the eyes on the alien in the Earth defence HQ set. I know this will sound odd but they seem too alien and don't seem to fit with the cartoony eyes of the other aliens Which I think look fantastic. I like the head shape but the eyes are too weird.

I like that these aliens look like they could easily be related to the alien invader from minifigs series 3.

Also, the facehugger pet is awesome and that alien solder with the big eyes and fewer teeth is amazing.

The cyborg looks... decent-basically same mold as the alien commander with different printing. Not sure if I like it. I do, however, like the commander for that brain...mmmm brains.

I'm curious about the abduction function- magnets, perhaps? And the amount of purple we'll be getting is a nice little bonus. Lots of good parts for space MOCs of all kinds, but more importantly a series that's a little bit silly. I think LEGO has been in need of a silly sort of theme lately. That's part of the charm of LEGO for me.

It looks fine to me. Only one of its eyes looks different because it is a cyborg implant.

The double barrel pistols could end up being used a greebles for spaceships.

First few pics I wasn't keen - it's so far removed from the outer space themes, but with these clearer pics I'm slowly coming around...

I'm loving this theme. Really. It is kind of Lego heaven for me

personally. I just want to clarify why I'm not that impressed

with the human faction. It has nothing to do with the blue color.

Neither do I really mind that our boys in blue wear breathers on earth.

The evil aliens might have released a weird poison for all I care.

My problem is that I don't want uniform soldiers at all. I want MiB,

confused politicians, mad scientists, brave pilots, cunning civilians

and plain old cannon fodder. Anything from the genre would be

perfect. Except possibly the smart-and-world-saving-kids.

Despite that little rant I will surely buy every single set in this

theme. Except possibly the human command truck or whatever.

I will have to build my own little bunker with war room, lab,

countdown clock, the works. Sorry for the long post but I can't

help it. This theme is excellent. Blue or no blue.

you're so right. I just didn't see it was a cyborg due to being awed by the fact we're getting cool aliens.

I'm with Mathias on this, Definitely in favour of more B-movie elements and less earth defense blueness machines.

Also: did we get high-res pics of the sets or just the high-res pics of the catalog where the sets are still pretty much blurry? (a few posts back someone mentioned "high-res pics"

The subtitle is meant to indicate that a minimum amount of approved images are posted in the first post and the sub description is to remind readers and members to always view the first post before digging through the discussion.

You're right about the purple parts, but I don't think the alien in the tripod has any brain exposed. The one alien with the brain is in the mother ship set. And alien pirate... haha that's pretty funny, I guess because of the cyborg arm and the leg.

A detail I like on the pirate fig is his tentacle housed in the cyborg arm. also, somebody was complaining about the differences between his red eye and the buggy eyes of the other aliens - obviously it's a cyborg part.

Well,I made a mistake!The alien in the alien defender(the little truck set)has exposed brains,but the tripod does seem to have brains!
