Man, you guys would flunk typo 1.0. Bad.

As a matter of fact, I did, and the second time I took that class, I only passed with a C.

Did I saw a Indy christal skull on a alien?

No, although the general shape of the alien heads is indeed similar.

looking at the video of minifigs, I still have the weird feeling that aliens heads could be light up... They are transparent and stuff...

That's an interesting and awesome idea but I highly doubt it. :sceptic:

I'm sorry, but that fig has nothing to do with MIB. For starters, he doesn't wear black, but dark blue. Neither does he wear sunglasses, but instead normal nerdy glasses. And then there's the whole running away thing you mentioned. You can make a much better MIB fig with an Agent Chase head and one of the black suits that already exist. :sceptic:

Well, the old version did have a more serious-looking face with a black suit, so I understand the confusion. Those were from the preliminary images, but were changed. Of course, Doctor Who fans would be overjoyed about this, however.

Off-topic, I don't think a flesh head with similar glasses exists. No flesh Doctor for me then. Too bad...

Not saying I think he is right, but Lego did make light-up lightsabers, so it is possible!

I'm not saying they couldn't do it, it's just unlikely because it's cool enough already.

Well, a light up alien head would not be good IMO. I would like just a normal lego piece. Do you remember how bad the LUL figures were?

Yeah, exactly. Light-up parts tend to result in huge, <insert that tiresome argument> pieces or minifigures that can't be taken apart. Much better this way. (Also, I think if the aliens lit up, we would have seen some kind of advertisement for it by now, either on the boxes or at the toy fair demonstrations)

No the figures won't light up, even tough that is a fun idea, I don't think they're bright-minded aliens, after all they are searching for brains here on earth.

Trans colors are cool enough on their own without lighting effects, and quite frankly I can't imagine a special minifigure body to house such a device, unless they mount the light brick in the cockpit behind the alien. (Quite possibly)

I think it would be possible to have a light up torso that moves light to the minifig head. I also think the Alien's heads are large enough to house a light and battery (I am thinking of the Piraka light eyes, which are not much larger than the Alien's heads). But I see no hint that the aliens have such feature. We have seen the boxes, and I am sure that the boxes would tout that feature as the ultimate good thing if that was true.

Ack! Still no clues on how the abduction function is. :hmpf_bad: Oh well, the other pics look good, it appears that the brain suckers are stretchy. :oh:

The light brick is in the cockpit with the alien, and there's a little lever that pushes the button from the outside.

Whatever the function is, it's pretty small.

Too bad half of the pictures don't show up. From what I can see, the human vehicles and figures have improved significantly since the prelims. The aliens look better every time! It is also nice to see brand new prints for the farmer. I bet City fans would be excited, but they probably wouldn't buy the set just for a new farmer.

That might be the solution to the dispute behind lighting up the brains; it probably lights up the trans green from behind.

Accually my computer let me see all the pics A O K. It was pretty slow and whenever a pic didnt work I would press the back button and try again.

Im disapointed that the alien pets have a stud socket but its ok. IM GOING CRAZY OVER THAT FUNCTION!!! Im seriously losing it. I dont know how much longer I can keep it together before I buy a ticket to Billund Denmark, fly over there, and make the designers show me everything. I saw videos but there was only a Star Wars Millemium Falcon, and a blurry Harry Potter video (THEYRE MAKING ANOTHER NIGHT BUS!!! Oh LEGO when will you learn. And just when I thought purple was to be fully restored and LEGO makes such a stupid move *sigh*. Have they learned nothing? Hopefully they have a lifetime supply of purple paints and such). I noticed a huge green sphere (not easy to see) at the back of the tri pod invader. I guess its like what they had in Exo Force where you contain a human. Id like to hear your opinions because I really cant think of anything else. I dont like the tri pod invader accually.

The UFO Abduction set doesn't have a trans-brain alien, and I don't think any other sets have a light brick. And the light is meant to act as a sort of tractor beam from the bottom of the ship.

I doubt there's a light-up function for the brains anyway.

I'm not sure what that is but it's pretty cool. The Jet-Copter encounter is looking really nice, I might actually like it a good deal better than the Earth Defense HQ. It's sleek and well designed. The smaller human 4-wheeler also looks nice- I think the humans are starting to look a LOT better than they did in the prelim photos we saw.

I REALLY like the Alien Abduction set. At first I was lukewarm, but seeing it in real life sealed the deal. It's got a great design and I'm still dying to know how that abduction function works.

The tripod looks absolutely amazing and I can not WAIT to buy it. It looks a lot better here than it does on the box. :cry_happy: Just beautiful.

I kind of wish the smallest "impulse" set was more attractive, but at least it includes two minifigures. Good army-builder if nothing else.

All in all, there are at least 3 must-haves for me and the rest of the theme looks extremely solid. This theme might become my new favorite.

I'm pretty sure it's the two little alien ships from the Jet Copter set, combined. That's a pretty cool feature!

...whoa, actually, you're right. So we DO get two different fighters with the Jet-Copter encounter! That's actually really neat, I will probably be picking that one up (even if I'm a black sheep for viewing that set as a standout).

One set I'm not liking so much anymore is the mothership. The large ugly handle on the back of the cockpit is a huge turn-off for me.

From the moment I saw preliminary box art, I thought that the Jet Copter was the weakest set of the line because I thought it was going to be BIG, like the Agents 2.0 helicopter. Now I see it out of box, I'm definitely going to get it if I can because it's a far nicer set than I thought it would be, owing to the combinable alien ships, the fact I've realised it's a far nicer size and it's general aesthetic is far nicer than the blurry preliminary pictures could have show (Who'd have known!)

This is ALREADY my favourite theme for next year, ideally I'd like to buy multiples of each set. They just keep getting better every time I see them. Well, apart from the mothership....but I know I won tbe able to. That would cost a fortune. But I can definitely see some tough decisions when it comes to which sets to buy.

Regarding the trans-green dome on the back of the tripod - I think it's to keep the alien pet, not humans. Doesn't look like a minifgure would fit. You could probably cram one there, though. These aliens don't seem too concerned with Human rights, after all.
