Anyone got pictures of the scientist guy from the tripod set?

Is the set with the farmer in it out yet (and if so, anyone got pictures of the farmer?)

I lost my Lego calendar, but does the release coincide with the May 3rd/4th day? Or is it later? IIRC, it was may 10 these sets are released?

Thank you so much!

The scientist's torso will make a very good Doctor Tennant figure:

Blue suit

Sonic screwdriver like pen in his chest pocket

Very good torso

And there are no yellow skin markings so you can make it a fleshy easily as well :classic:

Square glasses face is also good.

Can't wait :sweet:

the website is out!

there is not much to it yet, a shotting game where you try to shoot down aliens, a short clip from a movie making me think that their will be more movies to come soon and a question box where you can ask the aliens questions and they might answer them in a video in july when they invade.

I love what I've seen of Alien Conquest so far! I know that if I was 10, I would be begging for every single one of them (certainly would take up my entire Christmas list). My favorite childhood set was the Alien Avenger (6975), which I still proudly display. That being said, I will most likely be only buying the Alien Abduction set (7052) and maybe just a battle pack/polybag or two to get the earth defense minifig (I love the blue, well, everything).

I like the color scheme of the series from what I can tell. I'm not completely sure how I feel about the alien minifigs yet, but time will tell when I actually see them in person. I think the alien pet is brilliant and I wish he was more accessible than the big sets (but I'm sure LEGO wanted it that way). The whole thing seems like a modernized 1950's alien attack type theme, which I think is what draws me towards it so much.

If I were to buy only one set it'd be one of the ADU themed ones, because they're the good guys :classic:

(also the same reasoning I'd use if I was 10)

That $10 set is growing on me!

It's not growing on me. Honestly that's a poor excuse for a set. I'll need to get 2 to properly MOD it...

Really? It looks cool to me. It has a trans-blue piece, two of the new pistols with two barrels  , and a

cheap way to get an ADU soldier and Alien with his laser. Plus, as I said again, it looks fine and think that it

will sell well with kids.

I didn't say it wasn't a good parts pack, it's just that the design is horrible. But of course all of these sets are gonna sell well to kids.

You didn't clarify earlier:

Anyways, the back may be bulky but I really like the front.

I think that for long the main intention of the small sets was to give us minifigs and useful parts so that we could buy on impulse. In that regards, I couldn't have any complaints. There are two of the new guns, the sci fi gun in a new silver, and the trans blue thing is just too nice.

The minifigs are good too. Even though the more I see the brain of the aliens the more it looks to me as hideous detail excess, and I don't really like the glasses print of that fig, they look very strange. The ADU uniform is useful though.

Plus, I noticed on the front of the jeep thing, right above the wheel, there is a pistol, even more parts!!!:oh:

Yea the mixture of 1950s alien attack stuff and more modern type weapons for the humans (plus the odd but kinda cool color scheme) looks really good. I'll definitely get a few duplicates of most of these.

Yep, you get a total of three of those.

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7050-1

They used the pistols to look like some sort of support bar/shocks, like you'd see on an ATV, as far as I can tell.

Wait, you get a spare pistol in that set?

Do they normally include spare pieces like this in a set? I thought that only common and smaller pieces (antenna pieces, visors, studs and so on) were included as spares. Either way, that's great news for additional figure customisation. :classic:

The civilian figure with the tripod is great, whether you want to use it as a normal businessman or the Tenth Doctor. We definitely need more variety with minifigs like this.

Edit: oh look! The weapons in the Defender can be removed easily without ruining the design. More weapons, yay!
