Fugazi Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 Sorry if someone already posted this, but I didn't see a picture on the top post. But in the LEGO store today... there was an Alien Conquest battle pack. It came with two aliens and 2 ADU soldiers and 1 civilian in a suit. Again, sorry if this was mentioned before, didn't see it in the pictures of sets on the 1st post and looked through about 10 pages... EB member KingoftheZempk was with me and he'll upload pictures. EDIT: Saw that someone posted already on page 60 something... Sorry for the confusion! Initially the battle pack was there in the initial post, but eventually the link to the picture went broken and instead of trying to find another picture I edited the whole thing out instead! I'll go right now and add the battle pack back in. Quote

(taking with ipod touch ----- not as good quality) Quote
prateek Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Since I think prateek only posted a picture with the figs, do you want me to upload pics in the packaging as well?? (taking with ipod touch ----- not as good quality) Sure. I'd love to see how these things are packaged. Quote

KotZ Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Ok, here's a link to the picture. It's 720x960 Sorry for the bad quality, the lighting wasn't too good, and there were a bunch of screaming kids bumping into me... It looks like a variant of the Castle BP package from 2 years ago. I was going to pick it up, but then I saw the USD$15 price tag! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/CaptainJohnPaul/Work-of-the-General/img_0102.jpg Quote

Ogre Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) Don't know if you want them for the front page, or not: Also, if anyone is interested: all human minifigs in this pack have double-sided heads and torso printing. The civilians torso has a nice 'pinstripe' pattern. Downer: one of the soldiers is the same guy from the 'Alien Striker' set. I only have these two, so I don't know if he shows up in any other sets in the line. I'll have to check out the reviews. Oh, and the price on the Battle Pack is in Canadian dollars, from the Toronto LEGO store. *edit* Also, in case anyone was wondering: no, I didn't notice any of the problems that were associated with the Kingdoms Battle Packs. No loose grips, legs, etc. and the printing/colours seem to be 'spot on'. **edit 2** Another downer: after reading some more reviews in this forum, the civilian is the same one from the 'Tripod Invader' set. Bummer. Bad call LEGO! Should have ditched the civvy from this set and included two 'brain suckers' instead! ***edit 3*** Second ADU soldier is the same as the one that comes with the 'Alien Defender' set. So, no 'unique' figs in this set at all. Edited July 3, 2011 by Ogre Quote
petamas Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I don't know if it belongs to here, but I found a Blacktron I rebuild of Alien Abduction on flickr: Quote

vexorian Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 lol, that's even worse than the Exo-Force impulses. Perhaps even as bad as the Life on Mars ones. Like this: Quote
Delta 38 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Is it just me, or does that battle pack have ADU minifigures without visors? That impulse is terrible. You'd think they would have more mobility without the walker. Quote
Sandy Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 That impulse is terrible. You'd think they would have more mobility without the walker. Haha, you're right. It's like going to a battle on stilts. Sure, your steps are longer, but you're also easily taken down. Quote
petamas Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Is it just me, or does that battle pack have ADU minifigures without visors? I think they have visors, if you look closely where the top and bottom of the visor should be, you can see the top and bottom lines of it. Quote

hanzocloud Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 the aliens are ugly.. loosely based on the greys... i prefer lego to make actual grey greys that look like the roswell aliens.. Quote
Aanchir Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 the aliens are ugly.. loosely based on the greys... i prefer lego to make actual grey greys that look like the roswell aliens.. I'd also like that, but I think it would be better for a collectible minifigure than for a part of an actual space theme (possibly similar to this guy. Greys are these days considered a little bit cheesy, at least that's the impression I get from popular culture here in the States. Personally, I like the aliens in this theme because they have individual personality and yet a unified aesthetic. Quote
vexorian Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) I think they have visors, if you look closely where the top and bottom of the visor should be, you can see the top and bottom lines of it. Either way, you can get the same exact figs sans the civilian for the same exact price by getting the two least expensive sets (and you'll get bricks as well). Edited July 5, 2011 by vexorian Quote
Delta 38 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I think they have visors, if you look closely where the top and bottom of the visor should be, you can see the top and bottom lines of it. After staring for a few minutes, you're right. The plastic packaging is a bit confusing. On the topic of the aliens, I think the emperor and cyborg aliens are fairly similar (their heads at least) to grey aliens. I don't think aliens that are actually grey would work as well though, because then the ships would look odd and it would appear too serious. Quote
prozac Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Aside from the poly sets coming, is this line gonna continue or is it like PQ and basically what we got is all we're getting? Quote
Space Odysseyer Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Aside from the poly sets coming, is this line gonna continue or is it like PQ and basically what we got is all we're getting? I think Alien Conquest will be released within two years, as it was with Mars Mission and Space Police 3. Quote
Algernon Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 (edited) I think Alien Conquest will be released within two years, as it was with Mars Mission and Space Police 3. That's a definite possibility, after all most new themes run for two years before being replaced. I'd also say that it's premature to write off PQ as a one-wave theme (a la Dino Attack), especially considering that the trend these days is to stick around for at least two years. Look at Alpha Team, or Agents. I really enjoy Alien Conquest, but to be honest I wouldn't complain too much if it only lasted one year. After all, all of the important aspects of an alien invasion theme are touched on here. Still, I think it's quite possible that we'll see another wave. After all, we haven't seen anything of 2012 yet! Edited July 11, 2011 by Algernon Quote
vexorian Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 What Alien Conquest is currently lacking is a couple of Mechs, and also a static ADU base. Another thing they could do is make each new wave about a different alien race. They could get giant monsters in one next one. Quote
jonwil Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I concur with the base idea. Something a bit like Area 51 (as depicted in various movies and TV shows), could include some aliens being dissected and maybe some crashed/shot down alien spaceship parts being examined. Thinking also of e.g. the secret base in Independence Day where they are holding a captured alien and alien spaceship to do research on. Quote
