What Alien Conquest is currently lacking is a couple of Mechs, and also a static ADU base.

Absolutley.

I'd also like to see some additional 'civilian' elements put into play, like what's shown in the latest 'Club' magazine. Sort of like the old Spider-man sets. Give a little something to 'set the scene' instead of it JUST being the alien ships and human defenders.

Sorry Ogre, I have to disagree. If more civilians are needed then add in some of the city sets. Lots of civilians there already. That is what my son did. He just brought out his City stuff for the aaliens to attack and his ADU troops to defend. He even had some of the city police try and help with the defence.

I would like to see an ADU base and some mechs as has been already suggested.

I was thinking something small and exclusive to the line, like a newspaper vendor with printed tiles like in the summer Club mag...'newspapers' showcasing the invasion, etc.

Heck, throw that into a set with an ADU mech and I think it's a winner.

Hmm, a new wave would be good as it would open up the opportunity for new alien variants.

The current wave could be seen as the "strike force" of the invasion, so more heavily-armed vehicles and even bases would fit quite well.

Given that the closest thing we have to a human base now is the Earth Defence HQ, it seems like the ADU are pretty underprepared for an invasion, so the story could easily be continued. There should be at least one more wave.

Ah, Ok, I see where you are going. News Crew (lady with microphone and cameraman with large camera) in a set with an alien mech. Make the "civilin element part of the larger whole. Got it.

I like the mini civilian parts idea, but not so fond on the mech idea. After Exo-force, I' just tired of mechs. Let's think of something else.

I like Mechs, so I think an ADU mech would be cool, provided it's not the skeletal action-figure mechas we saw in Exo-Force. Or perhaps a proper alien mothership!

It seems like a neat theme, I just wish the ADU helmet would "fit" better: i.e. it hides the mouth, and shows too much (IMO) of the usually-unprinted forehead. :sceptic:

I totally agree on this. It also bothered me in Space Police III and the collectible minifigures.

Just finished assembling the large ADU vehicle and its GREAT.

I think that Alien Conquest is the best sci-fi theme we have had in a decade or more and I hope we see another wave.

Now I just need to resist the urge to go and buy the remaining sets (alien mothership, jet-copter, abduction). Although I can think of some interesting ways to use the train track from the mothership for an amusement ride :)

Please excuse me if this question has been asked, but have there been rumors of another wave, or is it another one and done wave?

I think it'll be like some of the other themes LEGO has done in the past. I doubt it'll be as big as Power Miners or Atlantis, but it's a possiblity. So I think this line will continue.

I really like this theme, but I'm not sure how many more sets they can make. Maybe an Alien Spaceship, like a space station, or an actual base for the ADUs, and not just a truck with a trailer.

Well, we now know where to get the ADU Jetpack trooper: As a freebie in Lego stores when you spend a certain amount in August! Check TooMuchDew's photostream for the store calendar for your country to find out what the amount is. For the US, it's $35 which is really not too bad!

I never saw this theme coming, really... it absolutely snuck up on me and I'm now looking forward to another wave in 2012.

Personally, I'd like to see an Alien Wreckage site, perhaps a UFO half-built into the desert or some poor farmer's land. Various debris could be scattered across the baseplate, and a compact ADU van could be on the scene to process the 'wounded' aliens.

I could definitely see an ADU truck and trailer set, because everyone from the police to the nail salon seems to have its own expandable trailer in the Lego world these days. Could be interesting, perhaps a dedicated 'radar' concept for the trailer to keep track of the aliens.

So is there any other way to get the ADU Jetpack for those of us who do not have an actual LEGO store anywhere near where we live?

I'd like to see some kind of ADU vehicle based around a more normal truck, perhaps investigating a crash site or radar dish truck. Maybe like the police one with a dog unit for hunting those aliens that have escaped into the long grass?

Perhaps an ADU spacestation?

I'd also like to see a big alien mothership, one that is worthy of being a mothership able to carry some of the smaller craft with room for the aliens to get out and walk about in it and for the ADU to board and have a battle on/over.

Wait till people who got it for free and didn't want it put theirs in BL or ebay.

I want to join in the rampant speculation too!

I love this theme. I'm not interested in buying every set from it, but I've bought three and am still saving money for the Earth Defence HQ. I'd love for there to be at least one more wave to fill in the blanks. So hopefully the theme is selling well...

There are a couple of things that IMO are currently keeping Conquest from being a truly great theme. A second wave could easily fix them all. First, there aren't enough different aliens. We've got two kinds of troops and two unique aliens, as well as the brain slugs which you can turn into "controlled human" figs. You can't build an army or even make up many stories about four aliens. We need to see more aliens using the "Alien Commander" body type and possibly one more type of alien. You know the aliens need a Queen. That's just how these guys work.

The ADU doesn't have it quite so hard, since civilians are always a big part of alien invasion scenarios. AC has a few very nice civilians already (I LOVE the farmer!) and you can supplement the "official" sets with City figures and buildings with no loss of authenticity. But to complete the Conquest story, there needs to be a set with a couple of plucky kids. How can you have an alien invasion with no plucky kids?!?

The second thing that's missing is big bases. Again, the ADU have a major head start with the totally awesome Earth Defence HQ. But they need a real land base as well. A place to park the Defenders and reverse-engineer the alien spacecraft. Judging by the excellent starfighter found in the HQ set, I'd say TLG are already thinking in this direction.

The aliens have no base at all. The Mothership is just badly misnamed. Yes, it's big enough, but with room for only one crewmember, no docking capabilities, and a complete lack of any kind of Ultimate Terror Weapon, a big spaceship does not a Mothership make.

To fill these and a few other blanks, one more wave of Alien Conquest will do admirably...

SET ONE: ADU SCOUT - a small flyer similar to the VV starfighter from the HQ set, designed to infiltrate the alien fleet.

SET TWO: ALIEN ROBOT/MECHA - a small alien "walker". I'd go for the mecha, but lots of old alien invasions used pure robots, and there haven't been any robots in Conquest yet. Set features a tree, a housewife and a cat. The cat is stuck in the tree, and the housewife is trying to coax it down when the walker sneaks up behind her. Then the housewife defeats the walker with spinjitzu. Okay, we sort of jumped the shark there.

SET THREE: THE PLUCKY KIDS RESCUE - a couple of kids rescue a wounded ADU officer and vehicle and are chased by a small alien saucer.

SET FOUR: ALIEN HOVERTANK - a medium-sized ground effect vehicle whose main feature is a massive laser cannon. Features new aliens and one or two of the old ones, vs. an ADU gun emplacement.

SET FIVE: EARTHBASE / ALIEN CRASH SITE - an Area 51-type set with crashed alien vehicle, ADU medical facilities and radar dish. With more ADU troopers and a couple of civilian scientists/doctors.

SET SIX: ALIEN BASE/SHIP - a big ground base that the Mothership fits onto the top of. Contains cloning pods, new type aliens including the Queen, alien flitter vehicles and an ADU motorcycle squad.

Really? Before the theme even came out I had built an alien tank, but it is more of a mortar-tank than a laser, however, there are four front facing lasers, and 2 swiveling turrents of 2 guns each on the side.

Hello all, new to the forums, first post in this thread. Really liking this theme, hope that Lego manages to keep it going, would love to see more sets. The aliens definitely need a base ship, maybe with a few unique figures. Perhaps a Queen, a pair of navigators, or how about a scientist of thier own.

Picked up two of the ADU jetpack sets today. Don't really care for the jetpack, but the actual jetpack element is great.
