Bob Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 I would like to search under the sofa and in the cushions for any incriminating evidence. James looks under the sofa and between the cushions, but he can't find anything. I'd like to hold the paper with the O on it up to the light, to see if anything is hidden on it (watermark, maybe?). I'd also like to hold it over a lightbulb (there's got to be a lamp around somewhere, right?) to see if there's any 'invisible ink'. When I'm done I'll hand the paper back to whoever had it. If there are any lamps, I'd like to lift them up and check underneath. I'll make sure to comment on Delores' dusting habits. I'll set them down nicely when done. It certainly is curious that someone was burning something recently. Can we get an idea on how big the burnt piece of paper was before it was burned? Similar to the size of the other notes found, bigger or smaller? Holding the "O" up to the light doesn't show any hidden print. Mayor Bradford then holds it under a light-bulb, and a few words show up. Underneath the "O" is "23:00". He then picks the lamp up, and looks under it, but there's nothing there either. The burnt piece of paper was probably a 9 X 11 sheet of paper. Sigh, I'll check the bins again. "Are we boring you, Ms. Parker?" Mayor Bradford asks. Julie checks the trash bins. There's nothing inside there that would incriminate anyone at the household. Well, perhaps Mr or Mrs Jefferson could simply tell us what they've been burning in their fireplace recently, surely they must remember a note they threw in the fire not that long ago? [ In the mean time, I would like to look around for paper pads, notebooks or loose sheets that could be used to scribble down notes. If I find any, I would like to compare the shape and type of paper to the notes that we have gathered so far in an attempt to determine if any of those notes were written in this house.[/i] Farmer Simmons opens Stevie and Gloria's backpack to look at their notebooks, but they've all been used for the correct purposes. He then looks at the family notepad, which hasn't been filled today. None of the papers found compared to the clues. Except if the note was incriminating in any way, I don't expect they'd tell us the truth, now would they? I'll go one better than that. If we do find a notepad, I'd like to see if there are any indentations on it from the sheet of paper that used to be on top. We might be able to find out what was written if there are. Mayor Bradford looks at the family notepad. He inspects it, and discovers that there's just been a few normal appointments written down, such as "Doctor's Appointment" and "Dieter's for Groceries". Burning notes in fireplaces? That's a rather suspicious thing to do. Care to explain? "I'm not sure I remember. It was most likely mail that's not important, I sometimes burn it to supplement the wood." Oops. You think I'd know my own house. Uh... do we have an attic? No you don't.
The Crazy One Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 "Are we boring you, Ms. Parker?" Mayor Bradford asks. Julie checks the trash bins. There's nothing inside there that would incriminate anyone at the household. No, it's just I never get a word in so I end up checking the bins!
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Good work, mayor! Could "O" refer to a meeting place? I would like to check the kitchen cupboards for anything that doesn't belong in a kitchen.
Bob Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Good work, mayor! Could "O" refer to a meeting place? I would like to check the kitchen cupboards for anything that doesn't belong in a kitchen. James opens the kitchen cupboards to look for anything suspicious, but he can't find anything that is out of place. It's getting late, you don't have much time left.
Walter Kovacs Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Are the kitchen and living room the only two rooms on the first floor? If there is a bathroom, I'd like to search through that. Description first, please.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I say we head upstairs before it gets too late. I would like to know the layout of the upstairs.
Captain Genaro Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 You do realise that it is rather strange to write letters in invisible ink Mr. Jefferson. I would like to know how big the remaining piece of paper that we found is to determine how much was burnt. I would like to know if any of the notebooks we found are 9 x 11. Next, I would like to hurry up stairs.
Sisco Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 It's getting awfully late; why don't we continue our search tomorrow? It's been a long and horrible day for me, and I need to knock off and get some shut-eye. I've just barely kept my composure all day, but I need to go home and mourn the death of my wife.
JimBee Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I agree that the O could mean a place, and the 23:00 must mean 11:00 in military time. Does anyone remember an O or a circled place on the town layout blueprints back at the town hall?
The Legonater Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I agree that the O could mean a place, and the 23:00 must mean 11:00 in military time. Does anyone remember an O or a circled place on the town layout blueprints back at the town hall? Well the map found with the boat had several places circled, but I believe we've checked all those.

It's been a long and horrible day for me, and I need to knock off and get some shut-eye. I've just barely kept my composure all day, but I need to go home and mourn the death of my wife. I understand the need to mourn but we have not finished here. We will be forced to vote soon and I think we still need more information before that happens. We're already here, let's finish this. I would like to continue the search upstairs.
Bob Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Are the kitchen and living room the only two rooms on the first floor? If there is a bathroom, I'd like to search through that. Description first, please. The kitchen and living room are the only rooms on the first floor. The bathroom is on the second floor. I say we head upstairs before it gets too late. I would like to know the layout of the upstairs. Walking upstairs, there's immediately a door. This is Patrick and Dolores' room. Next to that is the bathroom, and on the other side is the room which Stevie and Gloria share. You do realise that it is rather strange to write letters in invisible ink Mr. Jefferson. I would like to know how big the remaining piece of paper that we found is to determine how much was burnt. I would like to know if any of the notebooks we found are 9 x 11. Next, I would like to hurry up stairs. "I didn't write that note! We found it on that dead commie." Patrick says. Probably about half of the note has been burnt away, the rest is illegible. None of the notebooks found are 9 x 11.
Walter Kovacs Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Allrighty then, I'll go upstairs and start searching the bathroom there. 9 x 11 seems like an odd paper size for the US of A. Anyone know what size paper they use in Europe nowadays, especially Eastern Europe?
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I will enter Patrick and Dolores' room. Can I have a description? Meanwhile, I would like to search under the bed and under the mattress to see if there is anything hidden in those places. Seems like a small house for a former senator...
Professor Flitwick Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I'd like to take this opertunety to search under Stevie's bed, and in his sock drawer, to check for both possible Commies tools, and things a boy of his age should be looking at!

Anyone know what size paper they use in Europe nowadays, especially Eastern Europe? Mayor Bradford searches the upstairs bathroom. There's a shower and bathtub combination, along with two sinks and mirrors. The mirrors do open, and inside is the medicine cabinet. Underneath the sinks are pipes for the water. There's also a towel rack. I will enter Patrick and Dolores' room. Can I have a description? Meanwhile, I would like to search under the bed and under the mattress to see if there is anything hidden in those places. Seems like a small house for a former senator... James enters the bedroom. There's a closet and a cabinet nearby the window, and there's a large bed on another area. There's a painting over the bed. James looks under the bed, but there's nothing underneath. He looks under the mattress as well, but it as well is clear. I'd like to take this opertunety to search under Stevie's bed, and in his sock drawer, to check for both possible Commies tools, and things a boy of his age should be looking at! Patrick looks under Stevie's bed, and finds magazines that aren't exactly appropriate for a boy his age. He then looks in his sock drawer, but there's just socks in there.
Walter Kovacs Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I'd like to look through the medicine cabinet(s). I'd also like to tap on the back of the cabinet, to see if there is a hidden compartment behind it. I would like to lift the lid to the toilet's tank, if there is one, and look for anything stashed inside. I'll look behind the bowl and tank as well. If the shower curtain is drawn, I'd like to open it up, just to make sure I can see the entire tub. Does the tub stand on feet, or does it rest on the floor. If on feet, I'll have a good look underneath. I'll test all the faucets and the shower briefly, Just to make sure they work. Flush the toilet, too.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I would like to look through the cabinet for evidence. What is the painting of? I will look behind it to see if there is anything behind it. What does the window look out onto? Is there a balcony?

He then looks in his sock drawer, but there's just socks in there. I wish to roll up the magazine and smack Stevie over the head with it, for having such inappropriate things in the first place.
The Legonater Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I wish to roll up the magazine and smack Stevie over the head with it, for having such inappropriate things in the first place. I'd like to take the magazine and toss it in the fireplace, then give dad an unasuming smile.
Captain Genaro Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 "I didn't write that note! We found it on that dead commie." Patrick says. Oh! So notes found on commies should be stuck in the fire? Should we put all our evidence in the fire? I would like to know if the windows have large trees by them that you could clime up and down. Also, I would like to know if the windows are locked and if they are large enough for a person to pass through.
Walter Kovacs Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Oh! So notes found on commies should be stuck in the fire? Should we put all our evidence in the fire? Frankie, what ARE you talking about? The note that I found the invisible message on was taken off the body of a dead communist this morning. It is completely different from the burnt note we found just a bit ago. Patrick certainly didn't write the note found this morning. The burnt note, however, has an unknown author.
Captain Genaro Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Frankie, what ARE you talking about? The note that I found the invisible message on was taken off the body of a dead communist this morning. It is completely different from the burnt note we found just a bit ago. Patrick certainly didn't write the note found this morning. Well Mayor, when I said it's rather strange to write letters in invisable ink ( Mr. Jefferson said that the note in the fire might be a letter) Mr. Jefferson replyed that he found the note on the dead commie. I thought that he was refering to the note in the fire, not the one found this morning. Does this make sence?
Walter Kovacs Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Yeah, I knew what you were insinuating. I just wanted to make sure you knew that the invisible ink note and the burned note were two separate things, before you went making assumptions off of it. Sounded like you were starting to add 2 and 2 and getting 5.
Bob Posted January 8, 2011 Author Posted January 8, 2011 I'd like to look through the medicine cabinet(s). If on feet, I'll have a good look underneath. I'll test all the faucets and the shower briefly, Just to make sure they work. Flush the toilet, too. Mayor Bradford looks through the medicine cabinet. There's a few bottles of cold medicine and other typical bottles. Tapping the back of the cabinet does reveal a hidden cabinet, with Patrick's prescription medication. There's nothing in the toilet's tank, or suspicious behind the toilet. The shower curtain is open, and he sees the entire tub. The tub stands on feet, looking underneath its empty. He tests all of the water lines, they all work. I would like to look through the cabinet for evidence. What is the painting of? I will look behind it to see if there is anything behind it. What does the window look out onto? Is there a balcony? James looks through the cabinet, but only find clothing and other items to that nature. The painting is of a seventeenth century boat. There's nothing behind it. The window looks out towards the Department Store and Fire Department. I wish to roll up the magazine and smack Stevie over the head with it, for having such inappropriate things in the first place. "Ow!" Stevie says. I'd like to take the magazine and toss it in the fireplace, then give dad an unasuming smile. Stevie throws the magazine in the unlit fireplace, where it sits. Oh! So notes found on commies should be stuck in the fire? Should we put all our evidence in the fire? I would like to know if the windows have large trees by them that you could clime up and down. Also, I would like to know if the windows are locked and if they are large enough for a person to pass through. One window has a large tree next to it, that's Stevie and Gloria's room. Frankie then sees if the windows are locked, they are. A person can pass through it.
