Sir Dillon Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Well, Sweden won their second game, which is good. I still can't believe they didn't win their first though! *Sits in corner and sulks* :'-( Oh, and I have a question. If someone gets redcarded, they're thrown out of the game, and can't play for the rest of the game or the next, and their team has to play a man down for the rest of the game, but do they need to play a man down for the next game too? I don't think they do, but I'm not sure. 8-| Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 IF a team has a player excluded after a red card (direct or 2 yellow cards) that team plays at 10 ONLY for this game but the player is excluded for at least one game (not counting the exclusion game). Also if a player receives a yellow card in game 1 and another yellow card in game 2, he will be excluded from Game 3 ;-) Thats why those Third games are fun to watch hehe Hope that helped you Dillon ;-) This leads me to a question !! In some world cups, at the end of the pool games, all the yellow cards are cleared, and each team starts the 1/8th with O yellow cards !! Is that the case in THIS World Cup or the players keep their yellow cards for the 1/8th ?? Yoda Quote

Sir Dillon Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Thanks Yoda, that helped. But I don't know the answer to your question. Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Oh Genious, the French Crap chose the SAME BAD team against Korea as against Switzerland *wacko* The only change is that Malouda plays instead of Riberi !! For being THAT stupid, I hope we loose at least 3-0 !!: Go Korea !! No I am not Pro Korean but anti Domenech >:-) *yoda* Quote
snefroe Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 ok..; so i finally got my spectacular game: usa-Italy... unfortunately, the player of the game isn't a member of a team, but the referee... g... 3 red cards and a buch of yellows!! another 5 minutes and still 1-1, even tho the second goal of the Italians was valid!! Quality is rather low, i'm afraid to say. a decent italian team would crush the US! But then, who in his right mind would replace Totti?! For whatever reason? g... Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Lets not forget that Italy HAS to finish 1st of its group to avaoid playing Brazil in 1/8th 8- Quote

xwingyoda Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Ok all what I said is under the assumption that Brazil finishes first of course !! There is place for doubt because I am far from being impressed by that Team as a whole !! G, we have: 1) Italy: 4 pts 2) Ghana: 3 pts 3) Czech Republic: 3 pts 4) USA: 1 pt This is a fantastic group and very open !! Italy and USA will have loads of missing players, Czech Republic will be left without an offense !! This will be THE group to follow !! Thios one should be renamed the death group :-P *yoda* Quote

Thios one should be renamed the death group :-P *yoda* hm... italy will have to win against czech rep. hm... if kohler is back on board, as they all hope, then they may have a shot against the Italians. Sure, the italians have brilliant players, but they can't seem to play any other game then what they usually do, like the game we've seen against the US. Don't really play aggressively when it's needed, they're still waaay too much focused on defence even when they really need to score... it will be an interesting game, provided kohler joins the band... Ghana is called "Little Brazil" for a good reason. They have a great team that should be able to beat the US. My guess is that Ghana will win the group, Italy, second. Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Sne, the Czech Republic is Dead and buried I'm afraid since they have NO offense whatsoever. Koller and Baros will not play the last game (thats what they were saying yesterday) because of injuries !! Also Lokvenc (the only remaining attacker) and Ujfalus (defender) are suspended. Therefore the team that will play Italy is NOT the Czech we like !! And I think that Ghana vs USA will be a lot more open than we think for 2 reasons: 1) The USA showed a fantastic defense towards the game and especially with 9 players !! So scoring against them will be hard (IF they play like that and not like they played against the Czech !!) 2) We saw thet Ghana at the end of the game against the Czech were totally unfocused and unprofessional !! Against a good attacking team they would have lost big time (and an offensless Czech Rerpublic playing at 10 will not do the trick here). *yoda* Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Yes Sne, I feel sorry for the Ivory Coast !! I wanted them to go in 1/8 instead of those orange crappers !! Hey, watch it :-P Sure, it was a crappy match, and Ivory Coast deserved a draw, but at least be happy...for me ;-) Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 At least the Ivory Coast played the...Ball and NOT the players :-| Kiku, how many "orange" illegal faults were not sanctionned ?? Netherlands have a good team (on the paper) but I don't like the way they play rough !! Its football for Pete's sake and not Rugby :-P *yoda* Quote
snefroe Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 ok... in 90 minutes we'll know... we'll know if ronaldo is more thinking about belgian chocolates then about football, if ronaldinio is hiding a burn out behind his big smile if there's anything more behind their game then just heresy... they've been highly criticised for their first game, now we'll see if they have an answer... they should be able to win, 3-0; 4-0, but we'll see Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Its half time and that brazilian team is NOT impressive at all !! Joking (or was I) yesterday, I said it would be Suprise Day and forseen the defeat of Brazil and France hehe Lets see what happens but Brazil is not yet qualified (especially with a game like that). *yoda* Quote

Quote
Vader Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 And there you have the brazil break through....... As for why the USA lost to the czechs well thats because the czechs like to play with a big man up front and the US just couldnt handle that and not many teams can. For me i believe that the czechs lost for 2 reasons firstly they took ghana lighty and secondly because they have no strikers and no big man to aim for. Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Oh well, what a boring game !! Darn aussies couldn't put a ball in (and they really could have scored like 4 or 5 !!). Also this is not a brilliant Brazilian team after 2 not so great games !! I really hope the fly hom Quote
snefroe Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 whaaa... just woke up... so... anything exciting happened? Quote
snefroe Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 ok... les bleus now... ah... 1-0 already... Oh well... These Asian countries never played any major part at a cup, except for the last one, so the'll most likely loose 2-0,... it seems there was a huuuuge fight between the french after their firs game, so maybe that changed a few things... Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Thats a much better French Team there !! Okie the ball given to Henry was an "accident" (a shiity strike made by Wiltord) but lead to a lucky goal !! The French nevertheless are way more aggressive but they need to focus and not be surprised by the red devils hehe. Lets not forget that the Koreans were down by 1 goal before striking 2 ;-) Yoda Quote
Jipay Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 well too bad the video isn't a proof yet... That would have made anotehr for us so far... Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Yes, the French seem to be playing pretty well so far. I think that header from the corner kick was a goal though, as the goal tender was in the goal. :-/ It's a pretty close game overall though, and I think it can go either way. Quote
