Holko Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Hi, Eurobricks members! Here is my entry for the Winter Break contest : Grindelwald's tower. For those who don't know, this is the Nurmengard's highest tower(A prison built by Grindelwald). After Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald, the dark wizard lived here until Voldemort killed him. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I made it after the (very short) description in the 7th book. Hope you enjoy it! [EDIT : I made some changes, for example, the interior] The tower itself. Another algle. A close-up of the stand. Inside the tower. And finally, a side view of the interior. Full Gallery Comments and suggestions are welcome! Edited January 11, 2011 by Holko Quote
Gregorovich Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I really love this tower. The way you merged the rocks with the wall and how you hung the bat upside down (I've used it too) is genius! The interior is good, but I'm not sure it was that comfortable and nice on the book. Quote
MrLestrange Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I like very much that tower, but the minifigs are.... Quote
wand-stone-cloak Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 The exterior is phenomenal, but the interior just feels a little comfortable to be a prison. Great work! wand-stone-cloak Quote
JopieK Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Grindelwald is nice, have been there two years ago :) But that is a different Grindelwald I think. But anyway, nice tower indeed! Quote
Mr.Brick Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I agree with the above posters: Tower is good, I would make the interior a bit more sober though. And by the way, photohraphy adds a lot to the chances you make in the contest. Try to see if you have a "macro" function on your camera. (Often the symbol if a flower.) That helps with close-ups. But these are just tips for you to easily improve it a lot. I'm not saying it's bad! All in all, it's a good MOC! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Welcome to the forums Holko, that is quite a nice entry, a bit simple but I assume represents Grindelwald's Tower well (sorry not failiar with the real one). I tried to deeplink the pictures, but it said 'you are not allowed to use that image extension on this board'. What should I do? Since you're using flickr, this is how you do it: Right click on the photo > choose Medium 640 > Right click again on the photo > choose Copy Image Location, then paste the URL on the Insert Image icon in your post, then you're done with the deeplink, just like this one: Hope that helps! Holko Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Thank you KielDaMan, that helped a lot! This is not the very final version, so I probably change the interior. Quote
Sam Vimes Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Random Question but which book does this tower get talked about? Quote
Holko Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Random Question but which book does this tower get talked about? The sevenths. It's after the part when the trio is caught by Greyback. Quote
shadowreaperx Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 The Voldemort (yes, I call him that) is pretty much my design! Not my avatar design, my real life one, though I currently cannot connect my camera to my computer to show you. Might I suggest, however to use the body from this set? (That's the one I use ) Quote

(That's the one I use ) Well, there's not many ways to make a Voldemort. Quote
