I would call it a boat, the picture on the back of the box shows it on water.

By the way, has anyone seen that minifig head in any other set? I am wondering if the checkered portion of the hair is normal.

Thanks for the pics Theoryzero. I like the speeder version of the set but the walker isn't all that appealing.

Damn, it's the opposite for me :)

NEW ALPHA TEAM SETS!!! :D ;)

The Scorpion is very cool, but Alpha Team is dead.

The Scorpoin Orb Launcher is advertised in this weeks Toys Aren't Us ad, it's $20, they didn't mess up the prices like they normally do.

Alpha Team should have beenkept as a spy line, the new sets are the worse thing, but they don't go with Alpha Team.

But at least they come in cool blues. :)

I agree with a lot of sentiments here. I only liked Alpha Team in its first

line-up. Alpha Team vers. 2 (the underwater) and this current version,

3 (frozen tundra) should have not been made.

Unfortunately, along with (world) City and KK2, it is deemed a "core" line.

I would not be surprised if we see more Alpha Team in 2006. *sick*

I think the "transforming" aspect of the sets are to allow more appeal

to youngsters and give them additional playability options. Unfortunately

the majority of youngsters favor Bionicles and more recently KK2 line-up,

at least in my area.

I decided I won't get any of the Alphateam sets that came out this

summer (2004), but I think the Scorpion is too nice to pass up, even if

it has some suspect construction techniques. So I decided to order it

from Bricklink at 20% off ($16 US off Bartering the Brick).

Just my opinions...

Bionicle is Lego's best selling line. They are trying to cash in on the success of Bionicle with the Knight figures. At my store the Knights sell very well but Bionicles still outsell them 5 to 1.

I just cant see what the appeal with Bionicle is, but if lego are making money then i guess theres going to be lots more sets in the future. >:(

The transforming aspect is a good idea, but it only works when time is taken to get it right. However from the looks of the mecca set it looks rushed to me. :(

I don't know why kids like Bionicles so much but someone at Lego needs a big promotion because Lego sells the hell out of them.

The new Alpha Team line does look very rushed.
