Thank you for the excellent review!

I'm never been much of a Town person but occasionally I'll buy City Sets on an impulse. I have to say, this set is quite impressive and may be one of the few City sets I buy. I just love everything about the bank design- the reception area, the ATM, the safe. The armored car looks really good and the Police Car in this set looked the best out of the other two you compared it to. I really like the blue Police Officer torso and the rest of the minifigs look decent to me. The $50 does look a little steep for about 400 pieces, but I think it's worth it in the end. I do dislike the amount of stickers, but there are some good printed parts too. I wish there was a new dog thrown in too, just so I could have one, but you can't get everything in life.

Once again, thanks for the amazing insight into this beautiful set!

Thanks for the thorough review! I don't think you took enough pics though!! ;) I had just ordered this set a few days ago, based on looks alone. Can't wait for it!

Thank you very much for the review and the picture story! Excellent job!

Definitely a 'must buy' to me. Lots of interesting parts, very nice cars, awesome bank.

Can't wait to get this set.

Great review of an excellent set! Thanks for sharing this mifody! Everything about this set is wonderful - lovely new minifig elements, interesting new pieces, a trio of cool vehicles, and a nicely-designed Bank. Truly one of the best 2011 CITY sets worth buying!

Great review. Thanks for all the detailed shots - I just sat there for 5 minutes scrolling through and studying the detail. This looks like a great kit to pick up, I just hope its not a TrU exclusive (they can be hard to get here in Aus).

Thanks again for taking the time, and I look forward to further reviews.

Many thanks for the comprehensive review.

This set is one of the highlights of what is for me so far a so-so 2011 line up.

I like the 3 vehicles very much, and the bank is minimalist but has nice attention to detail.

A bust-buy for me.

love that ponytail hair, is it new mold?

No, it came with PoP's Tamina. But back to the review- thanks for the excellent review! I like this set a lot, but it's far too overpriced for me to get. :cry_sad:

This set has an enormous playability level. I can imagine kids playing with it for days in a row.

Thanks a lot mifody for making this review

This set looks to be a classic! I love all the little details - the gold ingots/credit card, the green money cases, that superb safe door, and a new motorbike. There seem to be some nice new pieces (or at least colours) too! It's also nice to see Lego do a good job of an estate car!

I think it'll fit quite nicely with the new 'mini-modular' range (City Corner, Family Home, Construction Site).

Super, crystal clear images Mifody!

excellent set! Great review! Many pictures, so we get a good view of the set.

I love all the details inside the bank. LEGO really paid a lot of attention to them. I also like the vehicles. Very nice! Again this shows how LEGO just keeps on advancing.

This is a great review mifody  Thanks!

Does anyone know why this set (and 3648 Police Chase) is marked "Special Edition"?

Will be exclusive to Lego stores, s@h and probably another shop, don't know what it's in UK. Sometimes Argos or TRU, you need to check.

This set is awesome in every case. It has all that a bank needs, and the interior is very very nice, which is always a good thing. If i'd still collect city sets i'd totally buy it! Thanks for the great review!

Thanks for the GREAT review. It has made me see all the awesome parts and now I really want to get it. One question is what's with all the special edition sets? Now there are all these lego sets that say special edition. And one more question is how much did you pay for this?

Thanks alot for the great review

I don't buy many Police sets, but this is a must-have. I get a bank, the new police uniform, a red dirt bike, crowbar, credit card and beige backpack.

I hadn't realised until now how similar in design all of the police vehicles are. I find that interesting, like there's a template they use for all vehicles. I also noticed that the vehicle in the helicopter chase is identical to the one from the garage, just a different colour.

Thanks for the review mifody.

You have raised my opinion of this set. At an opportunity the purchase.

Thanks for the nice review!

When I saw this in a store a few days ago, I thought I'd definitely not buy it as it retails for 50 euros! That's a hefty price tag considering the bank is actually rather small. After reading your review I'll maybe get it. If it's on good discount, I'll even more likely get it. :classic:

Cheers!

Hi Mifody,

thanks for the nice review and all the pics.

I bought some of the banks too, as i personaaly consider it the best city set for 2 years.

Those hoping to get some at sales, i wish you luck, as i have heared

only a few, compared to other sets, have been produced.

What makes this set outstanding to me is:

all the nice details,

having a bank once again since 20 years (#1490) - (junior-city *huh* 1998? doesn´t count)

The money transporter - great detail, ideas, and color sceme.

3661 -

Dislikes:

extended wheels outside mudguards for years on all the small cars, what a cra* .

Did Lego lost their mold for 2x2 wheelholderplates ?

Lego, don´t you find them again?, go make a new one !

Creditcards... disgusting... turning, shaping, little children slowly, unconsciously, into middle-class debtslaves. *oh2*

Funny Things i noticed...

The computer-screen... did your stocks go down on purpose ??? :oh3:

Mifody... Your bankrobber is a real Dumba**.

takes the paper, leaves the gold...

neither you nor the box-designers did get that...

to quote Bertold Brecht (?) rather freely:

"robbing a bank is a joint venture of morons, founding one, one of pros"

I just saw this set at Target this evening, so hopefully retail stores in Europe will get them as well.
