apemax Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 A truly outstanding moc. I can't say more than that. Well done. Quote
cavegod Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Looks great did you change the front side angles? and i also can't wait to see what you did to keep th ecockpit roof level. Quote
White Cat Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Cool, a massive and outstanding moc. Love it . Quote
StoutFiles Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Amazing! How much does it tip the scales at? It always bothers me, such an iconic vehicle and it's the only one where the manufacturer doesn't have a company logo for a custom UCS card (Corellia Mining Corporation). Quote
Churchill Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Congratulations! I can't wait to see more pics. Did the Jawas get the new contract for trash collection in Lego City? Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Oh marshal_banana, you tease! I'm excited to see the rest of the photos of this outstanding piece of beauty. Quote
CommanderFox Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Wow, it just looks incredible. Like all the others, im greatly looking forward to some more pics. Also, your photography setup and tatooine landscape look great! CF Quote

Darth Yogi Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Wow! The comparison pictures really put in to perspective the actual size of this great vehicle. The amount of work and skill put in to this thing is amazing. Great job Quote
marshal_banana Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) It's done. The model is finished! Facts: Minifigscale: 96 cm long, 100.5 cm long (lowered main ramp) Weight: approximability 20kg Part count: over 10’000 Powerfunctions: 4 xl motors, 5 m motors, 4 receivers, 4 batterypacks, 22 Lego LED-lights Powered radio-controlled Functions: - driving: forward reverse - stearing - main ramp: up and down - crane: up and down, in and out - conveyer band: forward and reverse Other features: fully interior on three floors in the front half of the model and a detailed cockpit (removable roof) second crane in the back of the workshop, lighted smelter. Building and planning time: 9 month Thanks to: - My girlfriend for her comprehension and lovely support. - CopMike from eurobricks.com, who donated some extremely rare reddish brown parts. - Derjoe for his inspiration at LEGO Fanwelt 2010. - The fantastic LEGO community on flickr and eurobricks Credits to: - Baronsat for his fantastic Bantha design - dzine123 for his skeleton - Turtlebot by Legoloverman - Wall-e by JimmytheJ Movie accurate lighting was also an important goal for me. The look is achieved with LEGO LED-lights 22 pairs of 'em. An overlook of all important details of the model. This is the "ugly" side of the sandcrawler. The original filming model was only finished on the right side. So I had some room for my own creativity Also an important goal was to create an accurate interior with a lot of functions and playing features. I will follow up with a video as soon as possible Edited June 1, 2011 by marshal_banana Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 It's finished! And it's awesome! The angles around the cockpit are just perfect, the details and textures are perfect, the greebling is perfect, the interior is perfect, the functions look perfect, and the lighting is perfect. It's all perfect! And I love the diorama. Quote
darkrebellion Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 This must be the most impressing SW model I have ever seen. Everything from the perfect angled sides, the completely lit interior, the hulking scale of the model to those minor details that give it an authentic feel like the small stairs at the bottom and the converoy belt inside the workshop. Truly a masterful work . Quote

Anio Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I like the inside very very much. Waiting for more pics. Quote
prateek Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Wow. I am blown away. I am literally left without words for the first time in my life. This is perfect. The exterior is great, but the really cool thing is that you managed to fit one of the best interiors I've ever seen, and motor functions! Do me a favour and keep this thing spotless. It deserves it. I can't wait for the video either Quote
Lobot Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Simply superb, a truly beautiful creation. This is one of the very best MOCs that I’ve seen; the detail is breathtaking. I don’t think that it would be possible to improve this in any way, and it’s great that you used Technic LEDs, to keep it 100% Lego. I’m really looking forward to seeing the video of this! Quote
ben506 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Now, I don't post, but I have to say that is just amazing, and even that doesn't do it justice. This is one of the best Lego models I've ever seen, and is definitely the best Sandcrawler ever. Some of the pictures look like they could have been used for filming the actual movie. Wow. I am impressed. Quote
mutley777 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 A perfect MOC! A truly amazing piece of work! The detail, the scale.... just stunning!! Quote
