I am wondering if anybody has news on any new LEGO Indiana Jones Sets. The theme is supposed to reappear in 2011 with new sets. If you have any news, please comment down below.

Always wondering:

Always wondering:

I'm almost positive they are done producing sets for that license for the forseeable future.

It would be a huge surprise if it did come back in 2011, but sadly I think that theme is done for now. We would probally see it again if there was a new movie default_blink.gif

The fifth movie will be in 2012, so I think we can get some sets!

As much as I would love for LEGO to make more Indiana Jones sets, I don think they will (unless they completely re-do the theme in a few years like HP, but I doubt that'll happen soon). But I hope I'm wrong!

Also, isn't there already a few topics like this?

I'm pretty positive that the theme is done. It was put on hiatus in 2010 to make way for PoP, but since we are getting PotC (and we don't knw how long it will run) I don't see Indy coming back for a long time, if at all. Pretty sad, really  it was one of my favorite themes, and I collected every set released. I only with they had made the tank from The Last Crusade. If that had been made, then the theme would be complete.

I hope that Indy gets the same treatment as Star Wars.I would like to see a cartoon series about Indy that would show what happened betwen Indy 3 and 4.

Then LEGO could make a couple of sets from the cartoon series and a couple from the original films.

Gamer.

I would love more than anything else for Indy to return in 2012, but with Harry Potter, Star Wars and POTC all active licensed themes, I'm not sure if there is any room. Unless they find a way for them to take turns, or something. And I guess the Harry Potter saga is coming to a close soon.

The powers-that-be behind Indy do in fact want to make another movie, and a story / script is being developed, but it's not yet certain it will happen; it depends upon whether Lucas, Spielberg and Ford can all agree on a script. If they do make it happen, it might hit screens in 2012; it depends upon when they start shooting, which would depend upon when they get the script, but that's all hanging on "if."

I do think that if a fifth film does happen, the LEGO theme will resume. I was also hopeful that the theme would resume anyway for this year as 2011 marks the 30th anniversary of Indiana Jones (yikes, I can't believe how long it's been), but it's looking less likely now, alas.

That said, I just noticed that my local TRU, which has been out of all the Indy sets for months except for Venice Canal Chase, just got in a bunch of new copies of Ambush in Cairo (!). This set has been sold out for months; I didn't know there were any remaining copies lurking around somewhere, but apparently so. This TRU had at least sixteen copies of the set as of yesterday (when they hadn't had any for some months previously). Dare I hope they get some more copies of some of the other sets as well?

I think since LEGO have produced Pharaoh's Quest is the Indy-line died. In this theme are listed the same characters, have the same style/design and does not have to pay the license. Sadly, but so is it. May LEGO-Indy rest in peace. :jollyroger:

I agree, I think Indy theme is dead

I am a big fan of Indiana Jones, so I would be very happy if a good fifth Indiana Jones movie was made. I would also be ecstatic if more Indiana Jones sets are released (I missed most of the theme, thanks to my dark ages).

On the other hand, if the fifth movie is anything like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (ie. a complete disappointment), then I would rather a fifth movie not be made.

The bottom line is if Indiana Jones is to return as a theme, it will only be if a fifth instalment is released, which would happen at the earliest in 2012.

They're all aware of Harrison's age, which is the reason they intend to do it soon or not at all.

FWIW, the character has already been established as living to at least age 93, thirty-five years after the events of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, though presumably he doesn't continue for that entire time to go on action-filled adventures in the style of those in the four existing movies.

If I may quote myself...

Has anyone else seen their local TRUs (or any other stores) suddenly receive some new stock of Ambush in Cairo (or any of the other Indy sets) recently? Surely my local TRU isn't the only one...

The Kingdomof the Crystal Skull was fantastic! I thought it had a really interesting story, and it seemed believable. If there was a fifth film that was as good as the fourth, I'd be very happy (and even if the film's rubbish, there's still a possibility of getting new Indy sets from it  ).

Yes, last week I bought Ambush in Cairo in my local Toys R Us! I saw also the Venice Chase but was not in my plans, now I want it *huh*

Hope to see more sets, The Last Crusade tank will be great! and the temple of the grail with the old knight and the traps could be the best set :classic:
