So when I got off work tonight, I had to run over to WM to get some things. I like going at that time of night because it's pretty dead in there and they are pulling out all of the skids with new product for the overnight crew. Went to the toy aisle, and there there were around 3 or 4 Lego boxes. On the side it read: Minifigures Series 3. Luckily, one of the overnight stocking staff was there and I asked him if he wouldn't mind opening a box for me. He said sure, and just as I thought: Series 3! I took a whole box. There are 2 minifig boxes in a Lego box, so it looked like this store would have got around 6-8 minifigs boxes.

I have a breakdown of what is inside, and I noticed something weird: Most of the figs are in the box together! Here is what I found:

Row 1

Tennis ------4

Chief -------2

Fisherman ---1

Snowboarder -1

Hula Girl ---2

Warrior -----3

Alien -------3

Judo dude ---4

Row 2

Warrior------1

Hula Girl----1

Racer--------2

Snowboarder--2

Rapper-------2

Chief--------1

Judo Dude----1

Fisherman----3

Pilot--------3

Baseball-----1

Elf----------3

Row 3

Pilot--------1

Racer--------2

Baseball-----3

Gorilla------4

Spaceman-----3

Mummy--------5

Rapper-------1

When I first opened the box, I started at Row 3 and worked my way back. It seems that most of the same figs are together, so the 5 Mummy's for example, were back to back to back to back to back. Now I know I got a new sealed box, so once they hit the shelves I'm sure they get messy in minutes.

Here is the breakdown of what I got in the box all together:

5 each:

Judo Dude

Race Car Driver

Mummy

4 Each:

Tennis

Warrior

Fisherman

Pilot/Explorer

Baseball Player

Gorilla

3 Each:

Snowboarder

Hula Girl

Chief

Alien

Rapper

Elf

Space Guy

It's great to know that you get 3 complete series in the box, and if anyone around the GTA wants a complete set, let me know as I am only keeping 1.

I'm pretty sure that these will be available at most WM today, or by the weekend.

Hope my counts help out and happy shopping!

I'll leave you with a pic. Enjoy!

Yarrr, it's the greatest feeling ever finding new boxes of legos. BEST FEELING EVER!

Sweet!

Are you able to confirm the rumours that the "bumps" are changing or are difficult to read?

They are very difficult to read. I only tried with 2, and it is really hard to figure out. I gave up and used the feel method and it was way faster.

Great find! Nice to know they let you buy the box! The case breakdown is also good to see.

Was there a price increase or are they still at the Wal*Mart price of $2.87?

The LEGO store here in Calgary had them on Jan 1st but heard they sold through in a week...40-50 boxes! And they had a limit and the bumps were definitely hard to read.

Out of my son's and my 32 we had 5 tennis players and sumos, 4 aliens and mummies, 3 rappers, tribal chiefs, and race car drivers...no elves, pilots, space villains, or gorilla suits...out of a "supposed" sealed box.

Whoa! There has been a price decrease! I got them for $2.86!

Yeah I got there right when they brought the stock out. For Series 2, they had them on the little shelf end-racks and zip strips and the boxes were no where to be found.

If you ask, they might have the empty boxes in the back room if you need one though.

I got mine today too. I used the feel method as well since the dots were very unreliable. I only got 10 of them (some elves, samurais, chiefs etc). I'm looking forward to Series 4 a lot more than I was to Series 3 though.

Gor blimey. I was out and around on Wednesday, and saw nothing of the sort. If I can convince the better half to go shopping again, maybe I'll come across some, but the Walmart in Toronto is notoriously understocked most of the time.

Well, it's a relief that series 3 has finally hit Canadian shores. I've picked up a complete set, yhough I did experience a few disappointments including a hula girl who was missing her torso  . I've also noticed that some of the accessories like the samurai's armour look incredibly shoddy in series 3. I really hope this changes in future series'.

On the plus side; the printing for this series is much improved. The tribal chief in particular is just incredible IMO. The amount of printing on the head dress is mind boggling! I don't think I'm going to try and match my collection of Spartans for series 3 as none of the minifigs really excite me this time around. Still, it's nice to have a complete set of every series thus far.

Moved to BSTF.

Actually, I have found them to be pretty reliable. I found what appeared to be 3 Elves, and got 2 Elves, and a Baseball Player (miss-read a code) So they difnitely work, but they are hard to read. Which is why if you look at the front of the bag, you see the code inverted! And even easier to read then on the back, you might want to try that!

Can be found at Wal*Mart Supercentre at Deerfoot Outlet. Just under 8 boxes worth, 3 of which were picked through.

Bump patterns are different between the two lot numbers I found embossed on the bags (544BO and 444BO) and within 544BO found two different bump patterns for the same figure (Elf). The assortment seemed different as well...3 in one, 2 in another, and then a single (444BO). These were sealed boxes. Looks like mileage will vary.
