Rayjunx Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Hello i start to organise a lego mech battle contest with real functional remote controlled robots. And i hope to find some freaks here maybe interested. i promise you, you never see something like this. And because i not just want to talk about dreams without proofing something, i already build the first mech, and make a full demonstration video, just take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dczMjJAVZHE I hope everybody like it, and maybe im not the only crazy freaks infesting so much time making something crazy
EXO-CHAMP Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 That's a very impressive mech and a well executed movie. Most impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this and good fun to watch the poor little robot get smashed to bits over and over. Very cool.
Tobbe Arnesson Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Way cool! Impressive 'bot! This MOC would fit well in both Technic and SciFi! How do you intend to do the battling? A few targets and each bot take turns to knock them out? Can't be bot against bot since you've used more than two IR-channels. We did some robotwars inspired battle back in 2005, unfortunately the video footage is lost (I'm pretty sure we shot some but I can't find it ): http://lotekbricks.blogspot.com/2005/03/swebrick-vii.html - Scroll down to like 3/5 of the page.
Rayjunx Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 Hi! first, we will destroy the robots not bite by bite, we destroy it brick by brick *lol* and yes your right, shure its not possible use more then 8 IF channels in the same time. It only work for the demo presentation of one mech alone. There are other ways we use then to losen this handicap. RC radio control elements we use to replace the lego intern stuff, but still use the lego motors. or using NXT elements, for example there elements can control the IF LEGO block directly. I have no doubt we fix this problem easy. and the fight should be a real KO game, not just hit some virtuel targets without function. You have to stay movable and able to disable the other mechs. And we a point system not only including the points in battle, design is also important, and we wont a realistic cool design, not just something with a ramp hitting the other vehicles with high speed... you know. things like robot wars are funny, and thank you for the link i see the pictures with your fighting vehicles, and find it real cool, but we want to go the next step, and start some real looking like battle too. Designing makes everything more interesting, if you not have something like this everyone just make a big lego hammer ;) im sure many people have good ideas for fighting lego mechs ;) greatings ^^ Rayjunx
