Ceroknight Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 That looks really cool, though it would be cooler if the wings were longer Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Thank you for dropping by EB to share your final product drakmin! I must say that really is a great technic SW MOC considering this is your first build in 15 long years. I really think this is a great model, understandably working on a Technic platform will of course compromise some accuracies but I see that you did the best you could with your available parts and the final product is simply beautiful. Impressive work and hope to see more creations from you in the future! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 As for blueprints, I've found that they're usually quite inaccurate (as everyone has their own interpretation of what they perceive the studio model to look like) No no, I have the blueprints used for construction done by ILM. I'm not sure which ones are for the life size and which are for the studio models, but PM me if you (drakmin) still want them. Quote

No need, I'll link 'em: I set these photos to private on flickr, though. Anyways, you should be able to see the source files: Construction Blueprints Cockpit Details Special Effects and Camera Setup Cutaway views and thumbnails of Studio Model Unfortunately, I don't have access to a scanner, so these are just photos. KimT Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Wow That's absolutely amazing Drakmin. Thanks for joining Eurobricks and sharing your finished work with us Looks like someone setup your account to send and recieve pm's. Welcome aboard. X-Wing blogged Quote
Ar Sparfel Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 It's a very good job. It was not easy to recreate the X-Wing with Technic parts. It's a great challenge. Quote

Fallenangel Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Thank you! I'll start a new thread after I have good photos to share considering this speeder. Also thanks to all comments everyone! You make me feel welcome here ;D Yes, we're generally very friendly at Eurobricks - just remember that all Clone Wars vs. Original Trilogy comments belong in the appropriate thread by brickartist. Just so you know, those blueprints are for the full-scale model (the ones with Luke and Dack climbing into the cockpit), not the 21" miniatures (the ones that fly around the AT-ATs). The two differ greatly in shape, the most prominent difference being the angle at which the wings hang down. I'm looking forward to seeing your unique take on the T-47 (which I hope will be done larger than minifigure scale like your X-wing). Don't think I'll be so soft on your MOC next time, though - after seeing what you're capable of doing with Technic, I won't expect dimensional inaccuracies to be an issue. Quote

Masked Builder Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 That is really sweet! I can't wait to see some more pictures! It looks very accurate too. Quote
R5-N2 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 a great job, very impressive... and nice shots too. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Niiice. It looks really good from those angles; you can't tell the nose dimensions are off. Quote
