denden13 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Hi all, my name is Dennis and I´m 13 years old. I will be fourteen in April. I live in Germany, near the city of Mannheim. I started playing with Lego at age three and really enjoy to build my own creation. My favourite themes are City, Lego Star Wars and Minifigures in general. Please excuse my bad English, but I´m still learning it at school. Quote
estephano (DE) Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Hi Dennis, welcome to Eurobricks! I hope you have a good time on here and do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions regarding the forum. I'm German too and live in Stuttgart so you can pm your questions in German if that's easier for you. Looking forward to seeing pics of your MOC's soon. Regards, Stephan Quote
Siegfried Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I hate to give such a bad welcome, but boasting about your age in your welcome topic (and username) when you've just told us you're 18 is... odd. Be aware that we reserve the right to ban members on age alone. Quote
Flare Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Welcome to Eurobricks, Dennis. Hope to see you around the forums Quote
estephano (DE) Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 C'mon Siegfried, don't be so hard to this teenager. Even I couldn't remember that there is an age restriction on here and by introducing himself, denden13 showed that he's an honest person not lying about his age like some other would do on here. Give him a chance and let's see what cool MOC's he'll show us in future Quote
Siegfried Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 C'mon Siegfried, don't be so hard to this teenager. Is he banned? No. I'm giving him a polite warning. Even I couldn't remember that there is an age restriction on here and by introducing himself, denden13 showed that he's an honest person not lying about his age like some other would do on here. But he lied when he signed up so what's the point in being honest now? Give him a chance and let's see what cool MOC's he'll show us in future We try to, but being so blatant when a member is really underage highlights that people seem to be forgetting that our target audience is not children. Even so, it's all about maturity, age is just a guideline. But 13... Quote
estephano (DE) Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Siegfried, I totally understand where you're coming from and I get your point. But like I said, even I couldn't remember that you need to be 18+ to enter the forum (well, I'm 30 years old anyway, but that's not the point) and we all know how easy ones click YES each time you're being ask for on the net. Maybe he didn't even really understand what he was clicking there. Who knows... In denden13's case, he's not a kid to me but a teenager and I'd like to see some of his MOC any time soon. I'm open to anyone who's into Lego and who's forward the DUPLO bricks and even I still learn a lot from younger AFOL's/Lego fans in general. That's my view on this... Quote
