dhc6twinotter Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I probably sound like a broken record, but I really like those tires! They are narrower than I initially thought, and the new size will be really nice for mocs. It's really encouraging to see new pneumatic parts. It seems Lego is interested in keeping pneumatics around for a bit! Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Shame lego has not made a pneumatic rotatory piece for the claw,is it possible to make one? Quote
Milan Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Shame lego has not made a pneumatic rotatory piece for the claw,is it possible to make one? Longer cylinders first Quote
legolijntje Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I really like this Are there any other new parts that can be seen on that BIG picture (except the wheels and the blue pnuematic part)? Quote
legolijntje Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) I just read on a translated version of the website of the big picture (here) that it is scale 1:12,5 (my transaltion) Says also the crane can almost turn 360 degrees. (my translation) Says also it has a gearbox whit a wormgear "" It says also it has a gantry (?) axle on the wheels (?) "" It says also it has 4WD. (I don't know if my translation is right ) Edited June 2, 2011 by legolijntje Quote
dorfl Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I really like this Are there any other new parts that can be seen on that BIG picture (except the wheels and the blue pnuematic part)? A bottom LTBG part which holds wheel (maybe part of portal axle system) - the differential is really higher than the center of the wheel. Hope some review with detail picture of new parts will come soon. Quote
efferman Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) Longer cylinders first full agree. It is not funny to combine cylinders to could build something lovely massive like this Thanks for the new pictures. Based on the Pics i will not purchase one of this mog. I want buy minimum three of them to could build a huge 8x4 Truck. Alone the Tires are a big reason and i think i can see a new white part (portal Hub?)on the front axle. but i have one critic point. that knuckleboom crane on the u400 is not able to folding complete and will have problems to touch the ground with its Claw. the tlg designers should visit Effer or Palfinger to learn how a real crane works. ok, i have enough parts (my transaltion) Says also the crane can almost turn 360 degrees. correct. (my translation) Says also it has a gearbox whit a wormgear i cant nothing read from a wormgear. only gearbox and portalhubs? a missunderstanding from a unknowing Reporter? "" It says also it has a gantry (?) axle on the wheels (?) it is written from a Portal Axle ok this will be expensive. the article says that the price for the 8110 will be at 190€ there is a e-mail adress to get more pics: bilddaten@LEGO.com i will try my luck Edited June 2, 2011 by efferman Quote

nielsvdv Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 i think i see 2 more new parts :s look at the front axle on the second pic of milan, the most front gray axle, the 9 L axle. where the connector on it links to the suspension, there seems to be an axle stop. on a 9L and it should be on both sides for the suspension to work. so is this a new 1 stud part you can pop in the slots on to axles? and on the same 9L axle, at first sight you think there is a Technic, Liftarm 1 x 2 Thin on it, 2 times, but what is it connected to? it has to support something? so what is it? efferman Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) i think you mean this part and two axle 4 with stop Edited June 2, 2011 by efferman Quote
nielsvdv Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 the second part is indeed the new part from 8069, but the axle with 4 stop, i don't know, the axle is light gray, where the stop is dark gray? or are my eyes going mad? Quote

dbostream Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 that it is scale 1:12,5 So how big does that make the model? How big is a Unimog irl? Quote
davidmull Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) So in lay mans terms how big is it or what other model does it compare to maybe 8258?is this the biggest technic model ever ?I wonder will it take much to rc this? Edited June 2, 2011 by davidmull Quote
Brickend Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Check thisfor actual dimensions.... Wrong Moggy, you want this one: http://www.unimog-international.com/content/unimog_int/mpc/mpc_unimog_website/en/home_mpc/unimogs/home/system_unimog/showroom_by_model/u300_u400_u500/technical_data.0002.html Short wheel base version - so it'll be a nice project to build the longer version. DLuders Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) Conchas has a nice, timely article about the 1:12-scale Unimog's new parts over on TechnicBRICKS. Edited June 2, 2011 by DLuders Quote
davidmull Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I wonder how likely is it that the rear bed dumps?nice new pics luder thanks. Quote
Bartholomew Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) So, that thingy will be around 64cm long, 36cm high and 27cm wide, without add-ons. Nice. Compared to the Nuremberg Toy Fair model, they seem to have altered the way of the tubing a bit: The pump seems to be 180° rotated, and of course the front outlet is different. By the way: Was the 1/2L pulley/bushing available in yellow before? It's just left of the exhaust, next to the little yellow beam: http://storage.technicbricks.com/Media/2011/TBs_20110207_1/TBs_20110207_1d.jpg In that picture, you can also see how the tubing was connected to the pump before. Edit: I wonder how likely is it that the rear bed dumps? Unlikely, I can't see a switch for that; neither has the bed working hatches. But it would be a nice project to remake the 8110 to the longer U 400 version and integrate a sideway-dumping mechanism (dumping to the back with mounted rear add-on wouldn't make much sense). Alasdair Ryan Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Longer cylinders first you can all ready join two together rams, but yes longer ones will be good i wonder what lego would do with them? Quote
olaf9198 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 On the Lego Technic Designers Blog, there was this post by Casper Thingholm: "LEGO Technic Flagship Model in August" "As most of you know, the LEGO Technic flagship is usually launched in August. This year will be no exception! We have already seen that a lot of the fans are discussing the model in communities and we start getting questions about it. Some of you have also guessed that it will be the biggest LEGO Technic model ever - and you are right! The model is built of 2048 elements and is a multifunctional vehicle. In the following months, we will let you have a sneak preview on some of the details in the model." "As said, the model is a multifunctional vehicle and one of its fantastic possibilities is the ability to apply tools both in the front and in the back of the vehicle. To do this, we have made it possible to direct the air pressure from a pneumatic cylinder to both ends. The result is an increased number of opportunities to use the pneumatic functions that you may find in this model. We look forward to share more details." "Happy Building!" that blue part that holds the peumatic part looks also new Quote
