It's cool. We're glad you joined! I just didn't want the thread to devolve into Europe and Australia price complaints!

I do like the Monster Fighter sets... What do you think of that set? Looks like it has some promise.

I think it's one of the most beautiful castle designs lego has made. I'm not quite fond of the whole ''monster fighters'' story line, so i intend to turn the castle into something more medieval, add some evil knights and dwarves and perhaps shelob as the castle guardian :)

The car is great tho, great colors, but the net launcher is a bit bulky and unnecessary, will probably replace that too.

I just picked up Kingdoms Joust. It's gorgeous put together, and my wife... who is supportive but has never been interested in actually doing anything with Lego decided to help me build part of it. When it was done, she said, "It's too bad you didn't get two to put them back to back." We can't afford that right now, but wow!

I decided to make the plunge into castle stuff (usually a city guy). So, with some advice from people on here, I just picked up...

Kingdoms Joust x2

Medieval Market Village

Final Joust (for the knight)

Mill Village Raid

The Knight

I think I eventually want to get the Kingdoms Chest Set (for army building) because I want to eventually make a MOC in castle stuff. This is new for me so we'll see how it goes.

I recently made my first castle diorama, build around Kingdoms Joust set. For someone, who was into making modulars with lots of furniture, I can tell you that it's quite easy to move to castle, and your selection of sets is quite nice for a start. Good luck and enjoy the building.

The one with a skeleton rider as well? I would love that one. Don't know quite what it is about that set, but it has something special for a set that size...

Great assortment of sets to buy at the same time, btw!

Yep, the one with the skeleton rider. I agree; there's something that just really caught my eye with the knight. That assortment was largely based on recommendations from this site (thanks to everyone). I also just picked up a Helms Deep today for parts. I'm thinking I should pick up another one, but after the 3 Lego binges this month, I should give the wallet a rest.

Edit: Just used some Lego dollars to add the Kingdoms Chess Set to my mix (if I am going to do a castle scene, might as well go all in and do it right - right?).

I just ordered 6 more Uruk-hai Army sets from Amazon, bringing my total to 21, since they have them on sale for nearly 20% off. I couldn't resist waiting to see if they get discounted any cheaper, and plus if/when they do I am sure they will sell out like hot cakes. I also picked up 2 of the Uruk-hai w/ Ballista polybags off eBay since we have no word when or if they will ever be released here in the U.S. That pretty much completes my LotR buys, just in time for the Hobbit sets to come out!

Lego is currently my only hobby, and the LotR line is the only one I currently buy anything from so over the course of the past five months it hasn't been that much really. A little less than 10% of my total expenses. I gotta say, I was planning on buying a lot more with the Hobbit wave but after seeing everything I am probably only going to get 2 of each set and then eBay or Bricklink any extras of the Warg/goblins I want. Those sets just aren't army builder friendly at all and I see no need to buy anymore than 2 of each with so many named characters in each set.

Just ordered the exclusive Elrond figure off eBay. Should expect it in the mail in a couple weeks. Can't wait to add him to my LOTR collection!

Today Attack on 9472 Weathertop finally arrived, completing my collection of the first wave. :sweet: Initially i was reluctant to collect a second theme but corrections on the retail prices (i cannot see any different reason for the constant sales of 20+% everywhere in Europe) did successfully affect my decision.

Unlike the Hobbit wave, a continuation of the LOTR line might draw quite some more bucks from my budgeting. This means if the most recent pricing policy by TLG in Europe turns out to be an episode with lessons learned...

For me it's been some minifigure free versions of Mines of Moris, Helm's Deep and Weathertop.

I've used the Moria set to give me the other 2 sides of the Chamber of Mazarbul. I built it like it appears in the books - so with another smaller door for the Fellowship to escape through.

Helm's Deep I'll use to enhance the set I already have - higher battlements, more wall etc.

I'm going to use with a load of BL green bricks to make a barrow for an MOC Barrow Downs. I've made a wight already - MF zombie head, plus HP Dementor cloak and body - so it'll be nice to give him a home. I have in mind a green hill, which opens across the middle on hinges. At one end a grey doorway, standing stones on the hill top, and arched burial chamber inside.

Aargh, predictive text "Mines of Morris"!!! You get the idea.

I'm not sure if it counts, but I recently received The Battle of Helm's Deep as a birthday gift, and I love it! It reminded me of why I fell in love with the LotR line in the first place: great building techniques, fantastic locations, plus gorgeous minifigures and accessories. I already have a copy of Uruk-Hai Army, but I'm planning to another copy. I'm also planning on putting Attack on Weathertop, Mines of Moria, and the LotR video game on my Christmas list (I cant buy them since I'm saving up to go see a Broadway show. Hint - my avatar is their CD soundtrack cover). When I put the videogame on my list, I heavily hinted the fact that if you pre-order, you get an exclusive minifigure (That Elrond minifigure makes me :wub_drool:).

This may be the wrong place to ask this question, but I want to buy guarded inn. I saw this on ebay and I'm not sure if it's guarded inn or not. Can someone tell me.

A strange place to ask indeed.

But no, it's not Guarded Inn. Or that is: parts of it is... and it seems to be built almost exactly the same way the original is built. But several of the colors are wrong, eg. on the lower walls (which should be grey) and the roof (which should be black).

Ah okay, thanks. I put it here because as it's about buying something, I put it somewhere about buying stuff.
