I found Goblin King Battle at Walmart for $30! That's just three and a half cents per piece! I couldn't resist buying it even tough it's my third one. I bought my first one for about $65 at Target and thought that was a steal, and then I found one at Kmart for $50, which I bought to keep sealed for investment purposes.

The catch with this particular set is that it wasn't sealed. There is Lego tape on it, but it barely sticks to box. There's also stuck-on printing from another Lego Hobbit box. That made me suspicious, but it enabled me to look inside the box at the store (remember when all big sets had windows under the box flaps?). I picked out a few sealed bags and determined that it was safe, but I still had my doubts; maybe the Goblin King was missing or something (didn't want to pour it all out in the middle of the isle for obvious reasons). But upon thorough inspection in my car, I happily confirmed its completeness  . I'm still not sure what I want to do with it. Since it's not sealed, I probably can't get as much once its rarity increases. I'll probably just keep the parts to myself but sell all the figure minus the goblins.

I just traded my Eurobricks Christmas Raffle prize of Star Wars minifigures for Aragorn in the Gondor tabard as well as the three Army of the Dead minifigures. None came with weapons but they were all free.

My local toysrus still had Laketown poly bags so I finally went down there and picked up 6 at $5 each (they had about 5 left on pegs after). I thought about picking up a couple sets but the prices were 89.99 for Unexpected Gathering and 69.99 for Lake Town Chase!

Checked target.com, they have

buy one, get one

30% off

select LEGO construction sets.*

I bought three Council of Elrond sets for $18.18 each. Every Target near me has stacks of this set and a few others on clearance. I also bought a Weathertop at Toys R Us. Normally about $80 at TRU, it was on clearance for $55 and lego was on sale for $15 off $50 purchases, so I got it for $40.

I also bought a Mirkwood Elf Army... (372 promotional packs of the Mirkwood Elf Archer would make up a sizeable army huh?)

And like Kauaijohn I too have blown my budget too!

Bought another

79006 Council of Elrond. One of the most beautiful sets TLG did ever create in regards of a medieval / fantasy line.

I am so sad that the LOTR line got dropped... :cry_sad:
