Blakstone Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I got some Viking torsos, printed armor, and samurai faces in the Build a Minifig bar. I could have picked up more Viking shields, but the printed armor was too good to pass up. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 The Build-a-Mini is a Gold mine now! Printed Armor, Seagulls, Viking Shields, Vladek/Troll helms, so much to choose from! Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Picked up a CMF Blue Wizard for a dollar. Quote
BrickSev Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Got New: 6061, 6080 and 6039 They are truly old sets, 1980s; if I'm not mistaken. How much did you pay for them? Anyway happy building (or collecting, if you plan to keep them sealed) with your new acquisitions Quote

I had most of those sets ( I was born in 1985 so they were among the toys I grew up with) Sadly I can't find them. I know they should be around, in some box but I can't find them. All I have managed to recover from that era are 11 Castle Minifigures. One day I'll find those sets because I know they are somewhere Btw do you plan to build them or collect them in sealed conditions? Personally when I get a Lego I always want to build it. I wouldn't be a good "Lego investor" I guess Quote

I'm actually an "all Lego eras" fan lol I love both the classic and the new ones. Every of them has something to offer in my opinion. I admire the progress achieved in the last years but I still appreciate the "old memories" of the "vintage era" I truly hope I'll find them. I had both the old Castle and the old Space themes. It appears some of them would have a great collection value. As for the invest vs build part, I'm like you. I can't simply keep a set sealed, unless I have more than one. But even in that case I often build the two of them. I have some promotional set still sealed only because they wouldn't add anything to my collection, so I'm keeping them sealed. Anyway enjoy your newly acquired sets and happy building Quote
AmperZand Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I got 79018 Lonely Mountain yesterday. I've been thinking about getting it for a while and finally gave in to temptation. Smaug made me do it! Quote

The build a minifig changes so often, I'd like to know if they have good selections before I drive all the way to the lego store. Quote
Blakstone Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I am at work but this is the article that lead me to the LEGO Store trip. The Viking torso is on the top left. There were no printed armor out in the Build a Minifig bar but when I asked an employee brought four out from the back. They have had the Viking shields (from the same CMF) for a while now, but I passed up on them this time in favor of that armor. Quote

Vladimir_castle_armies Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 VERY impressive collection. Must have cost you a fortune...!? Yep! And it's still growing. Not a single broken clip on them either. You like the gold, silver and white ones? :) Quote

Vladimir_castle_armies Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Impressive. Do you have also an equal number of horses? It would make a great Castle army I have about 3 horses for every barding so it's not equal yet. Quote

You like the gold, silver and white ones? :) Actually, I'm most in awe of the red ones with yellow lions... I've always been very fond of those. Never seen the white one before. I assume the chrome ones are custom? Quote
Vladimir_castle_armies Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Yea they are custom. The white one was spray painted and came out really well. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Picked up Uruk-Hai Army as well as 4738 Hagrid's hut, and 4183 POTC The Mill on craigslist. Good deals all around but Uruk-Hai Army was only $12, it is missing the green shield but otherwise complete so a great deal compared to BL and ebay. Quote

I just ordered the "Dol Guldur" sets and the exclusive Bain minifigure. In a few days, my Middle-earth collection will be more or less complete*! *I missed out on/skipped "Riddles for the Ring" and "The Goblin King Battle," but Bricklink'd the minifigures. Quote

I have the The Goblin King Battle and it's a nice set. In addition to the Minifigures it provides a decent scenery, if you are interested in such thing of course I missed most of the Middle Earth sets ( I was away from the Lego hobby when most of they were released) but at least I have acquired several of them, Orthanc included Edited April 22, 2015 by BrickSev Quote
