Japan Railway – KyotoStation

Dream to having little Japan Kato trains modelset (with bullet trains, control, stations, houses, bridges, etc) when I waslittle boy, but there was not enough money. Dreaming to buy the trains modelset after I have got a job after graduation, but it’s hard to find the setsnow….

Until I had played Lego again 5 years age, and, after the power function train set was first promoted last year, my dreamstarted to come true… Let’s have a look of what I am dreaming of.

JapanRailway – KyotoStation (The real one)

The station could be divided to three parts(for front view, not the Kyoto Shinkansen entrance)) , left, middle and theright part.

TheLeft

If I don’t remember wrongly, there would bean exhibition showcase, restaurants, convenience stores, etc, with also theticket machine.

TheMiddle

The main entrance of the station. I likethis part due to the glass wall.

TheRight

There is an Isetan Department Store on theright side, with also the observatory garden offering the full view of the Kyoto station and partsof the city.

There is a long long stair and theescalator, bring you from the ground to the observatory garden. You can alsoenter the department store through this pathway. Of coarse, you can also seethrough the glass wall. Less lighting systems, electrical energy are being usedbecause of the transparent glass. So this station could also be called “KyotoGreen Station”.

There are at least 5 rail tracks inside, goes for different directions (to Tokyo / to Osaka / To Kyushu, etc)

And at the back of the station, there isalso an entrance for the Shinkansen. There is a bridge connecting between themain platform to the Shinkansen platform.

Because of the limitation of resource, Ican only build the front part of the Kyoto Station, hope I can build theShinkansen one in the future and share to you.

So, let’s go to the Lego Japan RailwayKyoto Station

Wow, that's just amazing. I love how you've captured all the little details.

Oh my.....

great job, there is so much detail and technique. and even your engines are great, and the bullet. very very nice build!

PrinceWilliam: this is amazing but I'd appreciate you not posting images larger than 800x600 in accordance with our site guidelines. I've replaced your station images with links - but there may still be a few images larger than 800x600. Usually, 640x480 works just fine.

Amazing station PrinceWilliam. I am blown away at the details.

I have not been to that station but see the similarities to other stations in Japan.

I grinned when I saw the line of ticket machines. I never could figure those out.. I'd just buy the cheapest ticket and pay the difference when caught. lol

Great job PrinceWilliam  very impressive train station MOC

That is a great looking railway station! :classic:

As far as I can see it is a great rendition of the original.

Tonight I will take some time to take a better look at the photos.

Kind regards,

Teddy

Wow, what an amazing creation.

:classic: :classic:

Great MOC. I enjoy the details such as using headlight bricks for the square cutouts in the columns. I love the Coca-Cola bus and bullet train as well. Nice work.

I'm not usually one for modern styled train buildings, but this is really great. You've done a great job capturing the look of the building, and your attention to detail is fantastic. Well done.

Amazingly detailed at every angle. This huge scale modern train station is grand. I like how you place all of the tiny details altogether. Thanks for sharing.

This is now blogged in,

See it on Classic-Town.net

Gloriously beautiful train station.. Impressive work on this one PrinceWilliam, the whole build is really accurate to the real Kyoto Station. Of course the glass-paned dome is the 'star of the creation', but even the small details are wonderfully done. It was truly enjoyable looking at every inch of this MOC. Thanks for sharing this.

The glazed exterior of the station is simply amazing.

Great job PrinceWilliam

This is one MOC which doesn't have to be named but would still be easy to see what it depicts. (At least for me, who have been there several times.) Apart from looking good, this is a sign that it's well designed.

  • 3 weeks later...

It's a thing of beauty! Magnificent job!

There's nothing like realising a childhood dream, is there? The station looks awesome, and I'm particularly amazed you managed to obtain all those trans-black pieces!
