Hi!

I am actually thinking about a new Diorama MOC, famous battle scene.

After my last Layout (Battle of Endor) I want to ask you:

What Battle scene should I build next?

Some of my suggestions:

- it need to be a gigantic battle scene

- it should Be a scene taking place in Episode 1-3 or from The clone wars

- it should be an interesting build

- Battle of Geonosis (Ep. 2)

- Battle of Naboo (Ep. 1)

- ....

What's your opinion?

Greetings Hendrik

Battle of Kashyyyk.

I would rule out Naboo because the Battle of the Grassy Plains is just that: a bunch of vehicles on some grass. No interesting landscaping. Battle of Geonosis is huge and all, but the ground battle itself will be dwarfed by the Lucrehulk and Hardcell ships taking off.

Kashyyyk has a ton of different vehicles, from the Juggernauts and Catamarans to Orinthopters and AT-RTs. Plus it has giant trees.

I agree with 'gotoAndLego' the battle over Coruscant from ROTS would be AWESOME and quite HUGE in size.....especially if it's minifig scale !

May the brick be with you ! :yoda:

I'd agree with Brickdoctor. Kashyyyk has everything. Jungles, beaches, and lots of different vehicles

I would Say the Second Battle Of Geonosis based on TCW Episodes Landing At Point Rain and Weapons Factory.

You could do the Big Wall in Landing At Point Rain and the Droid Factory from Weapons Factory for Scenery and as Vehicles the Geonosian Speeders, Geonoian Starfighter, Desert AAT, Republic Heavy Cannon (Antivehicle Cannon) and anything else you decide.

If you want it to be from Ep. 3, definitely Kasshyyk. But if it were to be based on a battle from TCW, then maybe the second battle of Geonosis. I know that Geonosis is simply a big dirt plain, but if you concentrated more on the spires and caverns, it could be very interesting. If only the new Ki-Adi fig was out now... :sceptic:

I thought about Kashyyk some time ago, but there are a few reasons against it:

- Hein-Jan did a great job on it

- there is no realistic opportunity to get Kashyyk warriors and minifigs...

I don't want to create an air Battle (although The Battle over Coruscant is a fantastic Film scene)

I would say order 66 in the jedi temple (if that counts as a batlle)

I have this in mind, too. It will be great to build the front of the Temple..

I would say order 66 in the jedi temple (if that counts as a batlle)

This would then be my second choice, and since you don't disagree with it, I'd say we have a winner!

2nd Battle of Geonosis would be nice. Perhaps the gun emplaced fortress, or Obi-Wan's crashed gunship. If not, maybe the Battle of Kamino from the TCW?

Although Hein-Jan did do a great job on his kashyyyk, I still think this one takes the cake

But thats something you will have to remember - Almost everything has been done before. Pepa Quin's Jedi temple is simply stunning (I guess you might be able to make a bigger one?), you can find numerous battle scenes around the place.

If your really want something new, I think you'd have to go for a CW scene. But one thing you'd also have to remember with that is the fact that there is also a reason most people don't do big CW MOC's - Because there's much more to be captured from a movie, and therefore, a good MOCer, ends up with a far superior movie scene compared to a CW/animated scene (In my opinion  )

If you wanted something new, I'd love to see something like Kamino, Utapu, Falucia, and it's been a while since a decent Tatooine MOC, you could give that a go.

Just a couple of Ideas to throw around

Why limit yourself to eps 1-3 and clonewars?

Maybe you don't want to do anything from 4-6 but the extendend universe is very rich in stories and more importantly, massive battles.

Doing something from the time of KOTOR (4000 BBY) might be difficult with the minifigs, but The X-wing series of books and comics is very battle intensive.

The ressurected Emperor retaking Coruscant would make a nice cityfight instead of the more common grass, desert, jungle battle themes.

But staying within eps 1-3 i'd say....

The Arena battle on Geonosis, the 3 large animals, 100's of battle droids and every Lego Jedi character there is, not to mention a couple of 100 geonosians.

Could make an interesting battlescene

The arena itself would be a challenge to build i think.

I don't see why people don't want an Utuapa scene?

surely a multi level, rocky' montinous battle would be awesome!

Yeah I would chose Kashyyk, but the minifigures really make it hard to do correctly, so I would say the 2nd battle of Genosis from the CW, It is a lot better then the one in the film because of all the scenery, and every figure you need is in circulation now or will be within the next year so thats a plus, other then that I would go for either Utapu or operation knightfall, but you would have to do the library and thats a lot of trans-blue.

And a pain to transport. It would have to essentially be a vertical diorama/cutaway 3-4 feet high.

I would love to see the battle of Geonosis, because that had a LOT of action in it. Kashyyyk and Utapau are great ideas, too, but Geonosi just feels better. I don't mind which one you pick, though, it's bound to be awesome!

I'd like to see a decent LEGO rendition of the Battle of Muunilnst as seen in Clone Wars Volume I. Muunilinst featured pretty much all the major Separatist vehicles as well as LAAT/is, AT-TEs, SPHA-Ts and an incredible amount of troops, not to mention Anakin's Azure Angel and Ventress's fanblade starfighter. Of course, there are also lots of smoldering buildings, so you get a bit of everything.

How about the Battle of Mygeeto.

Lots of ruined buildings. Large vehicles to build.

and you could even wait for the upcoming Ki-Adi

dont know if this is the 'battle of geonosis' but it'd be cool if you did the scene in AOTC where Anakin, Obi Wan and Padme were trapped, and there was big battle in the arena..

Well, what I would like to see is Air Battle over Coruscant, it would look magnificent (spelling?), but since you

don't want to do Air Battle what about 1st Battle of Geonosis.

You could make biiiiiig diorama where all of those spider droids, hailfire droids, AT-TE-s, LAAT/i-s battle.

And in some corner you could make that hill (what ever it is) with Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda and Dooku.

You could make Solar Sailer.

That would look nice, but in my opinion Air Battle over the Coruscant would look unbelievable. :oh:

Since you don't want to do Kashyyyk, I'm going to go with fallenangle here. That scene is just in my mind the ultimate example of Star Warsified urban warfare. Besides, Durge is far and away the coolest of the PT bounty hunters IMO.

I'd like to see felucia, there are soooo many plants, and AT-TEs, AT-OTs, Swamp Speeders, and At-Rts as well. Also white phase 2s, don't look bad next to star corps'. We have both the jedi featured their. And all the colors would be stunning.

If I may, as a I'm not in this forum too often, but a Star Wars fan nonetheless, speak my mind, I would agree with the Utapau scene. It has not been done often, even though it is a very important battle in Episode 3 and it offers a wide array of possibilities whereas Kashyyk would be just plants and gigantic trees for the most parts. It would also too much look like Endor while Utapau is something unique IMO.

Good luck with your build!
