legomom Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Hi all, I'm the mom of 3 young lego maniacs. We have a trip to Scandinavia planned and will be visiting Legoland in Billund. But... my boys (ages 5, 10 and 12) *really* would rather tour the factory (and we parents would love that too)! I wrote to their tours guy and he said they don't let in the general public. Is there any way for a family to get into the factory? We are only going to be in Billund for 1 (possibly 2) days so we're not really flexible on dates (July 12 and possibly 11th of this year). Any thoughts? Quote
Lost Viking Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Their is no possible way to go on a tour of the factory unless you go on the LEGO Insiders Tour. You can find out more information here-LEGO Inside Tour Quote

I had heard about the Lego Insider tours, which sound awesome, but don't fit with the rest of our travel plans at this time. I was hoping we could somehow join up with a few other fans for a less-involved fan-tour of the factory without all the bells and whistles of the big Lego Insider tours. Oh well, maybe one day we'll do that! Quote
languages Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Having gone on the Inside Tour, I can certainly say they are worth every penny... Good Luck with your factory search... Quote

Sadly me and languages went on two different tours so we did not get a chance to see eachother, but I will say that it was awsome aswell, I had a very fun time. Quote
customclone Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 well, simply locate where the factory is. see if a door is open, bring your kids in, snoop around, and then come out. i am sure as long as you don't make loud exclamations no one would notice you inside. in case you are caught red handed (hopefully not with any LEGO) just say you are invited by "Mr Bingham Jones" to visit the factory, that usually fool any cooperate employee. KimT Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 There's always the way of pushing. Keep phoning, emailing and so forth. I remember when Morten pushed hard and long. That eventually let us in on a tour - no insider tour fee... But TLC is really protectivve of the factory - one grain of plastic touched or moved can mean the destruction on an entire brick production. KimT Quote

You can't just walk in ;) Sorry to burst your bubble, but you have to get past security at the gate and then most buildings are locked with a keycard. -Brett Quote

Unless you need a red carpet to guide you you should have no problem getting in by yourself. if by chance you bumped into a dorr with a key card lock and you want to go in all you have to do is ...............well, you know. anyway, once you are inside..........my jove.......it was TREASURE ISLAND. SuvieD Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Well sure that isn't so hard. Of course having to explain to your fellow cellmates that you are there because you stole plastic toys might make for some unpleasant experiences. :-X Followed of course by being banned from you family due to the humiliation. :'-( And don't forget about explaining the scares you got from trying to escape from the police. |-/ I seriously doubt it would be as easy as you say. Even if it were though theft, arrest, jail time and destroying any chance at having a good career all for little plastic bricks? Only an idiot would attempt such a thing. Quote
