Matija Grguric Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 My vision of the classic fortified medieval castle as we have it today. A classic tourist attraction both for kids and adults with all accompanying events and features. From fair where you can buy "autentic" (made in China) medieval weapons, utensils and armors to medieval show program and entertainers. MOC is laid over 20 baseplates, and originally started as a large castle project, but was later decided to move it a couple of hundred years in the future - Today. It was displayed in klub "Kockice" city diorama at Varazdin exhibition, and will be displayed on LEGO World Kopenhagen this year. lightningtiger Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 OMG ! What an AWESOME MOC 'Matija Grguric'.....from the bus to the castle itself...... it's almost too much and more 20 base plates....I'm assuming 32x32 bases.....ouch...that's a lot ! Keep up the AWESOME work and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Matija Grguric Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Thanks! And yes, those are 32x32 baseplates. 4 on 5. Quote
Vindice Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 that is incredible! Superb MOC, i'm actually pretty speechless. Quote
KartoffelViking Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I love these big MOCs when there's so many great details to find. It's like exploring a page from a Where's Wally or Graeme Base book. I had to chuckle when I saw Darth Vader and Batman walking down the stairs together Simply fantastic, Matija, two thumbs up  Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Simply amazing creation Matija! What a massive build with lots of fantastic details, truly an eye-candy worth looking at again and again and again. It's really wonderful to see how effectively this medieval castle is transformed into a modern-day tourist attraction. Excellent work overall, my hats off to you Sir! Quote
Tabris Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Outstanding MOC Matija Wish I could go to the Varazdin exhibition and see it in person. Quote
L@go Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 That is one skilled bus driver, to have been able to maneuver his (great-looking) bus through that narrow entrance to the parking lot :) But seriously: This. Is. Epic. I could have started commenting, but I would have gone on until tomorrow. The idea is superb and the whole execution is absolutely flawless. I can't see how you could possibly have done this any better. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 WOW, This is going to get a lot of posts. I just cant keep looking at this and every time there are even more details than before . I love the idea of a modern castle. I bet if you took all the figs off and the car park then it would look authentic. Great work . Thanks, CB Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 *gasp* This is stunning. Every little detail and shape is so well done. I can't een pick out a single favorite thing. Quote
LegoFan03 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 WOW!!! Amazing!!! How long did it took you to build this? Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 WOW NOW THAT IS A CASTLE!!! That is too good for words.. Congrats on building this! Keep up the great work Matija Grguric! Quote
Legoless Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) Absolutely love this! Clever use of angles- I really like the floor tiles in the courtyard- very imaginative and great techniques on display. What really impresses is that it is very well 'layered'- even the grass isn't flat. This adds greatly to the sense of texture and realism. Edited February 1, 2011 by Legoless Quote
