Stardusty Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 No. Really? So, I can't use 1 minifig from series one and 2 from series two? Can I then use some other minifigures (non-CM) in my entry. And, no offense, but I would like that ISC or WhiteFang answer to this question. Quote
Tazmaniac Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Nice presentation on your Category B entry. However, you could only use one minifigure each from Series 1 and 2. Please take one of the minifigure away and re-post your entry. Thanks. It has been answered. Quote

As much as I will like to bend the rules, but the whole purpose is to have the specific original Collectable minifigures from Series 1 and 2 for this interaction vignette. Quote from whitefang Quote
Stardusty Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Oh, well, thank you for answering. It won't be hard to replace that fig in the MOC. Quote
Dreamweb Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Just posted my category B entry. That makes my final entry as I'd already entered A and C earlier. Good luck to everyone once again! Quote
Sarkanyapu Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) Have a look at my first entry in this contest. I was surprised how many Fisherman Vignette have already been posted, but I did not change my mind to build one myself. The competition is even bigger this way. I have tried some modern building technics, and I also had quite an interesting idea. It was fun to build it, I hope you will enjoy it just as much on this page. Good luck everybody! WhiteFang Posted February 21, 2011 Author Posted February 21, 2011 A gentle reminder to all of the participants for this contest, I believe some of you have received a PM from me, informing you that your entry is not following the rules and guidelines, while some of you have comply and I have removed the flag in your entry. Sometimes, I may overlook certain entries that did not meet the rules but that does not mean it will be accepted and it is very likely that I will run through again when the categories topics are locked to prevent any further amendments. I strongly encouraged all to read through the rules carefully and I will based on the rules guidelines to disqualify entries who do not meet the rules and guidelines given. If you have any questions about your entries acceptance, feel free to ask your questions in this discussion topic or PM. Thanks. WhiteFang Quote

WhiteFang Posted February 24, 2011 Author Posted February 24, 2011 Participants are responsible to ensure that your entry is hosted on an image hosting website where it can be seen. I noticed some of the participants who have make use of Imageshack and it's currently being de-activated. Kindly replace those images with a valid link before the deadline or it will be deemed as disqualify. Quote
Oky Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 So, Category C has just been terminated? That's too bad, seeing all the great entries that were made, and I had mine about ready to post too. Couldn't we have just kept the category and given other non-TLC sponsored prizes for it, like tags or something? Oh well, too late now, I suppose. Are the prizes that were meant for that category going to be distributed in some other way? Quote
Skalldyr Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 too bad the whole thread was deleted .... The prices Do Not matter, but the thoughts have counted. Thoughts shall be free .... Quote
jansued Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I understand that EUROBRICKS had to decide this way, but I really don't understand TLC. Thats very interolerant for a company that sells/sold also Zombies, Mummies and Weaponry .... Best Regards, Jansued Quote
Gabe Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Thats very interolerant for a company that sells/sold also Zombies, Mummies and Weaponry .... Surely no more intolerant than picking on aliens and rock monsters all the time? And at least all thier mummies keep thier pants on... Ah, it's just too bad, my entry for Cat. C would have been all ready to go this afternoon. Oh well. Quote
prateek Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I understand where TLC is coming from. I've seen many similar situations before. For example, Youtube partners can't put up inappropriate (not too restricted) content up just because they get paid (sponsored) by Youtube. If a non-partner channel put up the same video, I'd think it would be fine. Quote
Leg-godt Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 What is happening with the complete set of figs from cat. C? Will there be more places to win at in the other categories or will they be for another contest? Quote

WhiteFang Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 Dear Eurobricks Community and fellow participants, I will like to assure that with the complete removal of the Category C, the Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series Building Contest experience, as a whole will not be compromised. Kindly give us abit of time to sort out some administrative issues and we will be ready to announce some of the new changes. Please note that the rules for Category A and B still stand as it is and there will be no amendments on these sections. On behalf of the Eurobricks Staff, I will like to apologise to all, especially the participants in Category C for our decision. I hope to seek for your kind understanding in this matter. Be rest assured that such incident like this will not happen again. Yours faithfully, WhiteFang Quote
Hive Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 This is a huge dissapointment to me, as it was the only one of the 3 competitions I was planning to enter. It sounded so fresh and exciting, and I feel bad for all the people who made an effort coming up with the hilarious and rewd entries prior to this decision. But oh well, such is life. Quote

Admiral Croissant Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Too bad. C was the only contest I participated..can't we continue in a secret forum? Well..there will be enough contests in the future. It isn't such a big issue. Quote
Darkblane Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Just posted my entries for Category A and Category B. I actually built these a few weeks ago, just after the contests were announced, but it's taken a few weeks to get them photographed and uploaded to Flickr. I'd actually planned to enter Category C, but just never got around to coming up with four original ideas. There were some really good entries in Category C, but I can see why TLG might not have approved. In case anyone was wondering, my Category A entry is supposed to be the cross section of an aeroplane, above a forced perspective ground. It was inspired by the Douglas Dakota where the rear door is situated behind the wings, but before the tail, and I'd have liked to have done it in dark green, had the right parts in the right colours been available. Unfortunately I think it's one of those vignettes which looks better in reality than photographed. I also found Category B quite challenging as it was hard to come up with a logical, yet original, combination of minifigs which worked well together, so instead I opted for a slightly random combination and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Also, this is the first time I've looked at the other entries since the contests were initially announced and I've got to congratulate everyone on some seriously impressive entries again. Quote
vexorian Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 With such a high value of 7 awarded places, I hope something like Schulze is used for the poll. But it is great news, I was going to participate only in category A, but I think I shall try B. Quote
