Here's my passenger Emerald Night with the red caboose replaced by a short observation car:

Here it is with the roof removed:

And here's the whole train on my dining room table:

I am unsure about the modest (24-stud) length of the observation car - I think that maybe I should buy a 6x28 dark bluish grey train base and stretch it to the same length as a standard Emerald Night train car (all I'd have to do is lengthen the lateral bay windows from 6 to 8 studs in length - what do you all think of a longer observation car?

Anyway, enjoy!

This is great! The window in the back looks very clean. I think a panoramic glass roof would make it better, since it is an observation car. Mind posting a picture of your whole EN connected together, and maybe a video of it running? It would be such an impressive sight

Nice take on AussieJimbo's Emerald Belle observation car. His thread has some useful links to the real Emerald Belle observation car (currently running service on Corfe Castle railway I believe) in classic EN colour schemes.

This addition does help nicely with your other custom EN cars - it must be quite a long train by now... any videos of the observation car as it pulls through the countryside?

Thanks for that roamingstudio but I see this as CCOOK's original work. There are only so many ways to build extra glass into an EN car and keep it consistent with the rest of the train.

It's hard to comment because I'm obviously biased and made different design decisions but I think this is a fine effort. I hadn't thought of a shorter car, the interior tweaks are nice and the repeated beige diamonds to tie in with the custom double deck cars is a good idea.

Well done, CCOOK. I still want your baggage car and 2nd and 3rd class coaches.

Your Emerald Night looks great. The observation car is awesome, I wouldn't change it.

Thanks for that roamingstudio but I see this as CCOOK's original work.

I never said is wasn't - It is different and also agree there are only a few ways to make Pullman observation cars. I actually wanted the link to highlight some of the pictures / links I had also posted to your thread of observation cars in the Pullman style.

Personally I think an observation car with slightly rounded windows at the back would be better. It is on my plan of things to do - especially since I will be moving (one day) to 7x44 / 8x44 styles (like Coopers trucks on Moc Pages). This would allow two people to be sat at the back - looking out.

Roger that mate. All good.

More variations the better I reckon. I'm keen to see what you come up with.

Hi CCOOK, this is looking good, interesting MOC. I would go with the longer train base however. And indeed, you should post pics of the train as a whole, would look awesome :-)

It's phenomenom !!! I'am on my a** ^^

Your whole train it's very a good realisation, congrats !!
