Vader Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 Im going to put this right where my woman can see it just to be sure :-D Quote
Jipay Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 As a non football fan, I am lucky enough to look at any naked girl that would come in front of my tv :-D Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 This was in my paper this morning, hehe. They also had 10 rules to counter these. I'll look them up and post them :-P Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 They're not really counter rules, just some points that some women;s anti-football organisation came up with: 1. Away with the World Cup, for once and for all 2. We won't let ourselves be put offside anymore 3. Grass is for cows, you're a bull if you play football (that's a dutch expression) 4. A ball in house is a ball removed (you know what kind...) 5. Every hour of football on tv is to be countered with 2 hours Sex and the City, Friends or Desperate Housewives. At prime time. 6. We (the organisation) will do all to make our point clear. Demonstrations, drawing public attention, autograph actions...everything. 7. Every goal the Dutch football team makes is to be countered by an afternoon of shopping. At the man's costs. 8. Every orange piece of clothing (including hats, shawls etc.) the man wears leads to a week of 'womens strike'. For instance, 2 orange pieces of clothing means no *youknowhat* for 2 weeks. 9. Watching football in a pub will be countered with an extensive breakfast in bed. Clean, shaved, washed, no longer drunk. 10. All remote controls in the house are property of the woman. Might be some bad translations in there, but that shouldn't matter too much. Quote
Vader Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 Kikuichimonji i think you should be banned for posting such a thing >:-( ................lol :-D ;-) X-D :-) Quote
Jipay Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 well actually I wouldn't mind watching sex and the city or desperate housewives at primetime *sweet* Quote
SuvieD Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Europeans are very lucky. In the US we get to watch golf and basketball. :'-( American Football can be fun to watch also but I miss not being able to watch real Football. Quote
Jipay Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 don't you have access to european channels ? We do get the american ones here Quote
snefroe Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 don't you have access to european channels ? We do get the american ones here I guess it would be like tennis: they usually only show the games of their own American players/team(s), thinking only hardcore fans are interested in the other, very often, much more exciting games. They're assuming that real fans have cable with at least one sports dedicated station. Not a week goes by without American tennis fans complaining about this lack of airtime on tv in any sports magazine you can think of... Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 When I was living in the US, they showed all the US games (their championship is becoming quite interesting actually) and as well they followed quite well the UK championship !! Football (or soccer over there hehe) really becomes more and more popular (that started really since the World Cup in the US). *yoda* Quote
Evil Willy Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Wow that was too funny. I don't watch football (Soccer where I am) But I have watched replays and stuff on TV and it looks a lot more interesting than hockey and whatnot. Im probabley the only Canadian who doesn't realy watch hockey. Anyways that was good. Quote
