    • Mix yellow pirates and flesh pirates together - colour means nothing to me.

    • I'm not interested in the POTC sets and am not interested in the new pieces. Classic pirates is over for now, and so is my interest.

    • I'll buy sets if they have enough nice pieces for MOC work. I might place a few orders on BrickLink.

    • My lego buying habits are ruled by external factors - what I can afford, what is on special, what I have enough room for. I really can't plan ahead.

Having just reached 500 posts, I can't resist the temptation to create a poll. Everyone is talking in minute detail about the new sets and the new minifigs and the new pieces, and what they want or expect to see in the future, but what do you actually plan to do with the theme?

Me, I've reached a point where I have to budget my yearly expenditure on Lego, and sadly this means not collecting the POTC theme. However, I will definitely buy a lot of the new pieces to compliment my classic pirates theme. I'm already compiling a list of how many buckets, new soldier torsos, new soldier hats, gold ingots, new gold coins (?), globes and bottles I need.

I might get a couple of sets for Castle and get rid of the flesh minifigs.

I think I'm in the minority here, but Jack Sparrow is pirate king in my world. Other pirate sets and parts will now go towards POTC building. I've already started building fleshie figs to populate ships.

There wasn't an option for what I plan to do. I plan to use POTC as a stand-alone theme and use some of my sets to fill it out. I also plan to use the Queen Anne's Revenge and some of the new torsos to fill out my 2009 classic pirates sets. So, really I plan to do both. :pir-classic:

They are going straight to my Kingdom, as civilians or most probably as a third faction. Not sure what I'll do with the flesh heads.

I am gonna buy every single set, (Well, maby not the QAR and TBP, because they are so expensive). Ill buy lots of those smaller sets, specially that London Escape is just awesome. I will keep the sets and the minifigs as they are, for me the skin colour means nothing. As POP was a special theme, so is this also whit a great new molds and pieces wich i just CANT wait to get my hands on. And if i anserwthis very simple, id say:Yes, POTC theme will fit into my world perfectly and its always éxiting to get my hands on the first fleshie minifigs, just cant wait.

The individual pieces will fit quite nicely into my sorted collection!

I will buy a few smaller sets, but I will get the majority (and we have some beautiful ones) of the nice pieces from BrickLink. As for the minifig bits (which I generally quite like), I will buy separately. But as most have flesh on the torso, I personally can not mix them with the superior classics, so they will be part of a separate world (PoP and Star Wars pieces I have bought).

I know I will get the captain's cabin and isle de muerta sets for all the nice little bits and bobs and because they're cheap. I had a few pirate sets from the last theme and only wish I had enough money to collect both pirates and city sets because pirates are just so awesome :pir_laugh2: but I must say that the QAR ship does look very tasty and am looking forward to see what the black pearl will be like.

Well the sets won't fit in as I usually build a set then take it straight apart and build my own stuff. But the figures are really cool and Ive been waiting for them so I can finally build some large detailed POTC mocs. I will deffinitly get all the sets, maybe doubles of any that have very good parts, but probably cheaper to get the special parts off Bricklink, as I dont want to be spending a load of cash on a set just so I can get an extra bucket!

Its really all about those minifigs!

I like this poll ... many variables, one or two are very true to my concept of collection, until I saw pictures of POTC.

I don't like the design of the ship, very disproportionate to the stern ... and I will always hate the flesh color in minifigs, is not LEGO to me.

from POTC, I like the new torsos, the new IMOS and accesories (the planet from Captain's Cabin is lovely), the new islanders design, and the all from London Escape

I don't like make great changes on the lego minifigs, I mean, I feel unconfortable if I have to paint in yellow the minifig flesh, But I prefer it before use flesh

so, I go with the mix of:

"I'll buy sets if they have enough nice pieces for MOC work. I might place a few orders on BrickLink"

"Remove the flesh parts from the POTC sets and use everything else to compliment my classic pirates"

and if its necesary

"Modify the flesh parts of the POTC theme to yellow and mix it all with classic pirates"

I'll keep the characters with their flesh skins but any soldier or character repeat will be changed to yellow.

I'm going to try and collect all of the Pirates of the Caribbean sets, just as I'm attempting to collect all of the regular Pirate sets. They'll be used to fill out my existing Pirates display, however: the Isla de Muerta will eventually reside in Red Beard's underground treasure cavern, while London Escape will find a place in my version of Port Royal. Fleshies or no, there's really no point in separating them. :)

I chose the option along the lines of "Remove the flesh parts and use everything else"

I might consider only utilizing fleshie minifigs from now on, but I don't know. It really depends on how long the POTC is around. If it is like Star Wars where it's around for 7+ years, then I'll switch. If it's only a 2-3 year thing, then probably not. Yellow figs all the way! :pir-classic:

I have to pick an option that wasn't listed as well. To me the "Flesh" color is just another race. Still mini figs, but from another culture in another part of the world. To me, the few Prince of Persia figs I have comprise a crew or Barbary Corsairs. If i can pick up any of the small sets before they blow off the shelves, I'll likely incorporate the POTC figures in much the same way, regardless of character's portrayal in the films. After all, isn't Lego all about imagination, why be bound to the original concept, if you have your own idea?

I picked undecided as I'm rather undecided right now, most probably I'm going to buy some of the sets, as for the minifigs, I'm not sure. Probably I need to see them on my own eyes first.

I chose the "I have no money" option :pir-hmpf_bad: but whatever sets I can afford will get modified and combined with Kingdoms, Harry Potter and POP pieces in the "eclectic fantasy village" theme I've got going. I really don't care about the skin color, it's just another faction to me.

Where's the option for "Leave the sets as they are and treat POTC as an independent theme"?

Oh yeah... I spent ages trying to think of all possibilities, but the most obvious one didn't occur to me. :pir-sceptic:

Would you like me to add that to the poll - or are you able to do that yourself?

Doesn't the poll reset if you alter it? You could add it if you're sure it's not going to reset everything, I don't want to break it...

This'll teach me for trying to play with polls.

I'm not a big fan of mixing the new fleshy parts up with the old yellow ones. I prefer keeping them all yellow, the sets contain a lot of great pieces. Very useful for MOCing and to dress up your minifigs. The parts are a reason for me to acquire a few sets, and of course BrickLink is a valuable brick source!

I have voted for 'undecided' as there were more options appealing to me, too hard to pick one.

I'm going to try and get all the smaller sets possibly multi captains cabin type sets for the accessories.... I can't see me building any of these as POCT sets.

I've got a bit of a cased Minifig collection so characters of note will live there their original state.

I'll be removing all of the Fleshie faces and placing yellow ones.

Fleshie faces I get a lot of will be sold. Along with a lot of the fleshie faces from Star Wars and Prince of Persia that I've already gotten. It's unfortunate that we're stuck with fleshies for licensed themes. :pir-cry_sad:

A lot of the sets and the new pieces will be great for adding to MOCs. I wish that cannons came in more sets than QAR and shakos continued.
