"I can't recall anyone renting the apartment. I have both keys, the owner gave me his key when he left."

Prehaps the owner made a copy?

I would just like to confirm that the footprints go straight to the window from the front door.

Also, are there return footprints from the window to the door?

I'd like to thank everyone for not breakin' anythin' in my apartment. It's not much, but it's mine.

Perhaps we should at least measure the footprints to see if anyone's shoes compare to it. Surely Harrison can't object to that.

Is it possible to tell how long the footprints might have been there? Can we tell if the person was running, walking, or limping from the distance between the footprints?

Farmer Alan enters Dieter's house. It's slightly larger than James', and has a table with a single chair. There's a circular rug with a recliner across from a small television set. There's also a radiator near the window. Mr. Schneider's kitchen is much larger, and has a stove top, an oven, a refrigerator, and a multitude of cabinets. There's also a few spice racks and a fruit bowl. Above the cabinets are a plethora of cookbooks. Dieter's bathroom is in the corner of the apartment, and there's a queen sized bed against the wall, with a nightstand and lamps on it.

While I'm in Dieter's house, I would like to open the kitchen cabinets and look for anything out of the ordinary.

Also, I would like to open all of the cookbooks to make sure they are indeed what they say they are, all the while looking for written notes. If I find any, I would like to compare the writing to the notes we found before.

Ah, back to good ol' searching. :D

I'd like to search around the radiator, then in and around the recliner, and then I'd like to get a description of the bathroom.

"It's certainly possible." Dieter says.

The footprints go from the front door to the window, they then return back to the door.

In case God didnt see

I would like to compare everyones shoe to the footprints and check for matches.

Not everyone is in the room with you, so it's not possible to check the footprints. However, Dolores', yours, and Frankie's shoes don't match the footprints.

The shoe you're looking for is a 9 and a 1/2. It's not possible to tell how long the footprints have been there. The person was walking, judging by the distance between the prints.

Is there anything on the table or nightstand? I'd like to look under the carpets... and tap all the walls.

There's a book on Dieter's nightstand, as well as a lamp. On his table is a plate and a fork and knife.

Surely you can't open all seventy-four cookbooks. Would you like to instead search for one that sticks out? Farmer Alan then looks in the kitchen cabinet, but nothing is out of the ordinary. There's a plethora of ingredients in the cabinets.

I'd like to search around the radiator, then in and around the recliner, and then I'd like to get a description of the bathroom.

Councilman Ackerson searches around the radiator, but cannot search inside it because it's on. He then searches the recliner, but doesn't find anything of relative interest. Entering the bathroom, there's a tub, and a sink with medicine cabinet. There's also a toilet.

Ding!

"Fresh cookies are ready!" Dieter says with a smile. :sweet:

Without disturbing any of the evidence, I would like to run down to Dieter's, grab some cookies, and run back to the empty apartment.default_laugh2.gif

I'd like my shoes to be compared to the footprintes just to prove they're different.

Ad I'd like to know if I can see the fire station out of this window as well, and if I could see the flag on its roof if it was unfurled.

Ooh! Cookies!

I'd like to search through the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.

I'd like some cookies.

Oh, the prints obviously can't be mine, 'cause I have a peg leg, but I will check my shoe size anyway.

What's my shoe size?

While eating some of Dieter's delicious cookies, I would like to look for any cookbook that sticks out. For example, are there any titles that do not appear to be cookbooks, or books not written in English?

I'd like to go to everyone and ask what their shoe size is. Can we tell if the footprints go to the door first or to the window?

The only people with a size nine shoe are: Captain Harding, Farmer Alan, Patrick Jefferson, Chief Fields, Judge Cain, Mayor Bradford, and Councilman Ackerson. The footprints go to the window first, judging by the trajectory.

Frankie rushes after some cookies.

Krista's shoe size is a seven, and is indeed different. She also wears boots. The footprints are not bootprints. Krista then goes to the window, and looks out of it. Amazingly, if the flag was still there, there is a chance that it would be partially visible from this window...Would you like to test the theory out and confirm it?

I'd like to grab as many cookies as possible, then resume the investigation. What is the name of the book on the nightstand?

Stevie consumes a quarter of the cookies, and then returns to the nightstand. It's Dieter's Diary.

There's a few things in the medicine cabinet. Toothpaste, his toothbrush, a few headache pills. Also in there is a heart medicine. Captain Harding wears a size nine, but he is correct. He could not have made those footprints with a peg-leg.

All the books are cookbooks, but Mr. Schneider also has certain books with titles that aren't English. A few titles are in Italian and German. Mr. Schneider speaks fluent German, of course, as he is an immigrant from Germany. There is also one book on Russian Cuisine, but it is quite dusty, and most likely hasn't been touched in awhile.

I would like to get everyone of those men into the room and compare their shoes to the footprints.

Afterwards I would like to test it out, if it wouldn't take too long.

I'd like to read it out loud.

Isn't this going a bit too deep into Mr. Schneider's privacy? :sceptic:

No, it is not.

I'll quickly check to see if any of the ingredients stand out as having a foriegn name. Then I'll switch the lamp on and off and see if anything useful happens.

Well if it's going to help clearing him of suspicion, I'm sure that Dieter won't mind.

Perhaps we can read whatever Dieter wrote during the last few days, it may be enough to determine whether he is involved in this cummunist conspiracy.

(oops communist )

There's a book on Dieter's nightstand, as well as a lamp. On his table is a plate and a fork and knife.

Oh and I would like to compare the knife on the table (as well as any other knives in Dieter's kitchen) to those we have found with the victims.

Err...which page? There's a whole like, two hundred page diary.

I would like to open the Russian cookbook and look for anything suspicious in it.

There's nothing suspicious in the Russian cookbook. There's simply recipes for cooking typical simple Russian dishes. A stamp in the front cover of the book says "Bought in Munich".

Krista drags each of the men into room, but the soles of the shoes don't match the ones on the ground. It is of course, entirely possible that whoever made the footprints changed their shoes.

No, it is not.

I'll quickly check to see if any of the ingredients stand out as having a foriegn name. Then I'll switch the lamp on and off and see if anything useful happens.

There are of course foreign ingredients from all over the world. Captain Garrison then switches the lamp on and off, and the whole apartment building explodes into flames but nothing happens.

Well if it's going to help clearing him of suspicion, I'm sure that Dieter won't mind.

The knife on the table does not match the knife found. Also, while Mr. Schneider has many knives in his kitchen, none of them match the knife found in Mrs.Jenkins or Brenda the Lifeguard.

Speaking of Brenda the lifeguard...A National Guard medic enters the second floor.

"Which one of you is Falzone?" he asks.

"Me." James says nervously.

"I'm Doctor McCoy, Brenda the Lifeguard had severe internal injuries. You're lucky you found her when you did, I expect her to make a recovery in the next few days."

"That's great news!" James says.

No, if we read it, we should also poke a bit at the beginning, maybe he doesn't write the interesting information in the end. Maybe you can also cut pages out of it and give them to several people, to shorten the time we need to read it completely. And I would like to know the first date mentioned in the diary. Does it still play in Europe, or already in America?

It's a relief to hear Brenda will make it, poor thing.

I believe I still have the flag here with me, if you want I can run to the Fire Department and replace it where it came from. Perhaps someone should come with me though, just in case there's still a killer lurking in that area.

I'd like to go with Alan; there is safety in numbers.

After being dragged of and having my shoe checked, I'd like to return to Schneider's and take a cookie, then inspect inside his medicine cabinet in the bathroom.
