Orlego Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I was just wondering if anyone belonged to a local Lego user group. Here in Florida, USA I belong to the Greater Florida Lego Users Group (GFLUG). Just wondering
ApophisV Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Nope... I've no idea if there are any German or whatever usergroups....
Jipay Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I'm not a member of freelug. I thought this could have an impact on the community I started with doubleT, so I prefered not to join |:|
Orlego Posted December 7, 2004 Author Posted December 7, 2004 I'm not a member of freelug. I thought this could have an impact on the community I started with doubleT, so I prefered not to join |:| I understand that feeling, and it may be for the best. I think I'm going to start a club because some members of my current group GFLUG do not agree with me posting some news & info around the web. Plus, they are based about an hour and a half away from me along with most of the events.
jonfett Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 There is a British Lego club called www.brickish.org but I have not joined this. Maybe I will in the future but I would rather stay with eurobricks, as I would prefer to go to Legoland Billund rather than Windsor! Jon.
Jipay Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Maybe we should launch a suscription with a fee to this club :-D
Orlego Posted December 9, 2004 Author Posted December 9, 2004 Maybe we should launch a suscription with a fee to this club :-D Sounds good. Send all money to Orlego, P.O. Box 5555...... :D
HJR-Holland Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 I'm a FREELUG member and participant of LOWLUG (Lowlug doesn't have members, hence the description)
Orlego Posted December 13, 2004 Author Posted December 13, 2004 I'm a FREELUG member and participant of LOWLUG (Lowlug doesn't have members, hence the description) What exactly is Lowlug then? Just A organization that brings other groups together?
ImperialJohn Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 I am a member of the Danish "Byggepladen" (Baseplate). Around 50 persons in total.

I'm a member of "The Brickish Association", and have been since it was launched a couple of years ago. Although it has its own on-line fora, the main attraction for me is the social aspect - getting together every month or so, sharing ideas, showing off MOCs, trading bricks, trading sets, bulk buying and sharing with others, etc. I would recommend it to any/all UK based AFOLs. You don't need to give up Eurobricks; you can be a member of both ! Ian.
