Tazmaniac Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 An idea I had for the minifigure comp on at the moment but went with some thing else.......I hope I've chosen the right one. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Excellent idea 'Taz', but where's the blonde in his hand eh ? Great design plus it's very original as far as I know......so Brick On 'Taz' ! Quote
AussieJimbo Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Brilliant stuff. Beautiful building, nice cars and that great little plane flying around King Kong. Heaps of detail within the 8x8 space. Fantastic work. :classic: Quote
Tabris Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Great use of the Gorilla minifig. Out of all the serie 3 minifigs the Gorilla is the one I like the least, but looking at your vig I see that it has its use. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 That is great! Surprised it took this long for someone to create a vig w/ the ape suit fig as King Kong Great job! Quote
SilentMode Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Very nice work, and a lot of detail condensed into the 8x8 vignette! The gorilla is also my favourite of the S3 minifigures, from the very beginning. Quote
Internets Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Nice use of forced perspective. I give this two funs up! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Very clever build indeed! Scaling down everything to effectively depict the Gorilla minifig as King Kong is really an ingenious idea. Great work TazManiac! Quote
Lord Arjay Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) Nice idea for using the Gorilla suit. Despite the size of the vig, you have still managed to create a fairly detailed scene, which doesn't distract from the main focus. Great job! Edited February 25, 2011 by Lord Arjay Quote
Cancerkitty Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Awesome job! The only thing I'd tweak is to make the airplane a bi-wing. Quote
Tazmaniac Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 heers for the feedback guys! As for the plane it was going to be a bi-plane but looked too chunky with the bottom wings. Quote
narbilu Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 This one is brilliant Best minifig vignette in ages Quote
Tazmaniac Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 I'm starting to think I should have entered this one into the 8x8 minifig comp, but it really doesn't work without the MiniFig Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 This MOC had to be made one day with the new gorilla minifig. You did a nice job. I like the plane as well. The building looks quite modern so it actually suits the single winged plane quite well Quote
Lance Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Nice use of the gorrila suit guy Taz! You could paint up a karate master trophy and put yellow clay on the top, or just photoshop the Willie Scott minifig into his hand Quote
Tim13 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 This one is brilliant Best minifig vignette in ages nice is that custom, wait this isn't supposed to be a quote Quote
Tazmaniac Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 no customs it's all Lego here baby!! Quote
Mr. Gray Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Brilliant! I would've never thought of doing anything like this, and you had the wits to do so and pull it off perfectly. Love the arches at the top, really gives the building a different feel than if they weren't included. Quote
tootsman10 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 LOL I absolutely love this. Great display for the minifig. Quote
Legostein Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Hello! A great display indeed! You are right. It is an idea that comes to mind when seeing the Gorilla minifigure. I've bee planning a similar concept for a while now, and had to wait for more tan bricks. You beat me to it. And as I respect that I will not post my version on this platform. Well done! ~ Christopher Quote
Tazmaniac Posted February 14, 2011 Author Posted February 14, 2011 And as I respect that I will not post my version on this platform. Well done! ~ Christopher NOOOO! please DO post yours this was a concept MOC and really only an Idea that I quickly put into bricks. I've since reworked it a few times, and would love to see someone elses version. It should have been the "Empire state building" but because I wanted to show the concept I just built a quick generic building. Quote
