Posted February 14, 201114 yr i have some questions regarding the Train 12V Manual Switch Motor. there are two version sold on bricklink: ver 1: Electric, Train 12V Manual Switch Motor 4 x 8 x 1 2/3 ver 2: Electric, Train 12V Remote Control Switch Motor 4 x 8 x 1 2/3 my question: what is the difference besides the price (ver 1 go for USD2 while ver 2 go for 10 usd)? also the standard remote control is the Light Gray Electric, Train 12V Remote Control 8 x 10 with Switch Pattern. others like the Light Gray Electric, Train 12V Remote Control 8 x 10 with Level Crossing Pattern go for a much cheaper price. my question: - can any remote control be used to operate the switch motor? - does anybody remember the link wher it can be shown how o modify v9 switch tracks to use the manual swith motor? thanks for any help.

The first one is a manual switch, it means by hand. The second one is an elec, switch. You need wire and a control to switch it over.also the standard remote control is the Light Gray Electric, Train 12V Remote Control 8 x 10 with Switch Pattern. others like the Light Gray Electric, Train 12V Remote Control 8 x 10 with Level Crossing Pattern go for a much cheaper price. my question: - can any remote control be used to operate the switch motor? - does anybody remember the link wher it can be shown how o modify v9 switch tracks to use the manual swith motor? The first one is used for points to choose which track the train have to go.The second control is used by crossovers, like set 7866. Those controls are working differently. thanks for any help. That's what this forum for . You collect also 12v trains form the grey area?

You collect also 12v trains form the grey area? thanks very much for the prompt reply -> not collecting 12v but thought that maybe their remote switch track mechanism would be of help to operate my 9V tracks. tried some other solutions that are published on the net (i.e. 9v motors, power-functions etc.) but feel that they look all too 'bulcky'. anyone else 12v on 9v? thanks
February 15, 201114 yr As an 12v collector I tried to build elec points for 9v like 12v has. I can tell you, that won't work. I made an elec switch with a normal 9v motor. Well see here: The mechanism is made like this: Maybe this will help you.
