xwingyoda Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Loool, Sne and his Classic Space addiction :-D Oh boy, this "buy it now" price is ridiculous (and that is an understatement !!) !! Even without mentionning how costly it is, I don't think this set looks that nice anyway: its just an old grey flat ship with big square holes in its wings :-P Since I'm sure nobody will be crazy stupid enough to buy it at that price, I wonder how much it will sell for in the regular bids procedure ;-) *yoda* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 14, 2006 Governor Posted June 14, 2006 How much is this set accutally worth? May the seller accidentially left out the decimal place and the price is meant to be Quote
Hobbes Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 How much is this set accutally worth? More than all Pirates sets together >:-) Quote
snefroe Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 well... the model itself is crap, really... it's basically a "reshuffled" "Star Voyager" and I wouldn't buy that for more than Quote
oo7 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 775.00 GBP = 1,432.22 USD X-O I have one question -- who in their right mind... Quote
Shakar Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Wow,that's alot.. 775 GPB = 1.134 EUR! Outrageus price.I don't find the model to be that great anyway. Shakar Quote

Shakar Great use of colour Shakar - IF YOU USE THE BATMAN SKIN! it was really hard to work out what your post was using the standard viewer, but yep. I think its a silly price, but if some sad American collector with more cash than sense wants it, good on the seller. I havn't been able to get classic paradiso sets for my daughter as the prices have been bid way over my limit by crazy yanks as some sets were not available over there. Jof Quote
KimT Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 OMG. He even claims it to be MINT - but he's built it once and then put it back in the polybags and sealed them. That's not mint... it might be near-mint *n* What a crook :-| KimT Quote

Jof you might want to try ebay... i find MISB sets of paradisia fairly often at reasonable prices there Quote
snefroe Posted June 18, 2006 Author Posted June 18, 2006 this is the same model, however, with a some what lowered pricetag still, i wouldn't buy it, because i think you can get all the parts you need for a lot less than 79 euro. In fact, there's no proof that these parts are original, there's no box, no instructions, nothing that justifies a high price... Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Personally, i just can't see keeping a set in the box and not builing it. Wow! You get to say "Hey, check out this really cool box i have! It was a steal at $1,400!!! :-| " Lego's were meant to be built. Not boxed. Quote

Though I do collect my Legos with boxes, they are all opened and played with.. well, built with at least :) The larger a collection grows, the more impossible it is to find parts when everything is thrown together on one big pile... lostcarpark Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I love people with an inflated idea of their collections worth - they are so much fun. I think MISB on eBay actually stands for "mangled in substitute box". Quote

I have a few freinds who collect, among other things, Star Wars figures and they refuse to remove them from the pack, as this will reduce their value. So I ask them "Would you sell it?", and they say "No!", so I ask "Then why do you care?", to which they answer "You just don't understand, do you?". But they are right. I don't understand. Quote

I don't understand. well it's a question of collecting, really. you just want to keep the thing you bought as authentic as possible. it doesn't have to do with selling/reselling. it's a thing only collectors understand, aparently... again, compare it with comics. some one i know just bought an old Tintin comic for 7000 euros. do you really think he's gonna give that to his little children? I don't think so... it's going sraight into the vault, only to come out on special occasions, when you want to look at it. it's like wine. Many bottles are extremely expensive. if you're thirsty, you'll just take a glass of water or whatever , only to open the expensive wine when you really want to enjoy drinking that one... that can take years...
