Huh...you know, a new ship every 6 months or so is actually a good idea. Spreads them out so you can buy them at leisure, and, well, there's a ton of them to design and sell.

I cannot wait for this Flying Dutchman set!!! I hope it comes with Tia Dalma or Pintel & Regetti! :pir-tongue: I wouldn't be surpised if the Flying Dutchman is an exclusive and is the final set in the line.

A few days ago, I accidentally discovered: pirates.wikia.com/wiki

It's everything about PotC. I was pretty surprised there is PotCOnline and reading some pages on pirates.wikia, it looks like there are many new caracters and ships in here.

So I am pretty sure TLC can find thousands of ideas from here as well...

But on the opposite side, not everybody knows about POTC-online and they wouldn't get the clue where it comes from if they see a set based on this game in the shop.

Butbut I didn't saw all those new stuff of Star Wars (so I only saw the original 6 movies) and I still bought some sets from those new movies, just because some of the minifigures are really cool. Adapting this to the POTC-line: as long as it looks really cool, people will buy it. And if I was Disney, I would make a deal with TLC where the POTCO-sets are cheaper so more people will discover POTCO and Disney will gain more money from it...

Oh well this is just what I think :D

I think that those figs have nothing to do with the Flying Dutchman. Though I'd really like to see them all and we probably will in some other sets (Tia's shack), I'd prefer to see as many FD crew members in that set as possible. Also a variant with Becket and a few of his guys would be cool, but please LEGO spare us another Jack or Will!

I doubt that Lego PotC will be released in the summer of 2012... They alrdy got LotR, Marvel and Dark knight sets coming out. + We still didn't see any pictures from one of their catalogues. I don't get my hopes up on this one...

Some summer sets images from other lines are being leaked right know those days... but... when we're going to see finally the 2nd wave of Potc ? ... I hope soon... :pir-cry_happy:

Like Big Cam said, there is no info or details yet. All I saw was small pic in a sort of catalog which showed a large Flying Dutchman set. Like I said, the store employees were very open about it, saying thats the only set they have seen but there are also some other new sets along with it. Their exact word's when I asked about POTC was: 'We know about a large set based on that ship that comes out of the water'

So I said 'you mean the Flying Dutchman'

'Yes that's the one'

The fact that they were open about it makes me think that it will be officially confirmed and shown pretty soon.

I am not going to give a description of what I saw, its down to Lego to release the pics and details, not me.

I would probably assume that there will be one more wave of POTC sets, and the theme will finish with the Dutchman as the large exclusive set.

I'll trust LEGO store employees. Read above.

If this Flying Dutchman set is true, it better not turn out like the Black Pearl, or I will have lost all hope for TLG. :pir-hmpf_bad:

I didn't know lego was making any more POTC sets. I must have been wrongly informed by Brickipedia who said the theme was to be discounted next year.

Umm, Brickipedia is not a website that has anyhing official most of the time. Personally,, I have never seen it say this is getting discontinued, but just don't put too much faith in Brickipedia.

They have edited out that now anyway.

Even if Lego do not make a flying dutchman set which I'm sure they will there is always the new Spongebob Flying dutchman set.

The CG Flying Dutchman for Lego Pirates The Video Game is completely to scale and has multiple decks, but because LEGO is always mum on making their ships to scale, we'll probably have to settle with 4/8 cannon, small captain's cabin, and perhaps only one pair of rigging and maybe almost zero ratlines.

That is actually quite a smart little set, my son built it a couple of days back!

I actually bought myself the Queen Anne's Revenge today, um'd and ar'd between it and the Black Pearl and decided I prefered the QAR but now i'm thinking I should have read this thread first and held out for the Dutchman!

I be with Big Cam. If the LEGO store folks say it, I believe it. Lego might just start giving more choices in themes. They never said there could only be so many themes, licensed or otherwise. Mo' sets = mo' money.

And more from my wallet. :pir_bawling:

From a selfish point of view, I wouldn't mind POTC going on a hiatus and the current line going on clearance - so I can get 1 or 2 of the sets without having to pay those ridiculously high licensed theme prices for them...

I would like POTC to last long enough for them to at least complete the theme with some more sets from the movies. I would really like at least one naval ship and the flying dutchman as well as the island jack is marooned on and the chinese junk pirate ship. I would also like Lego to make the rest of the mermaids from the fourth movie. They would add a lot of variety and really fill out whitecap bay. :pir-classic:

I hope the line survives for a bit longer as well. I mean, it's ridiculous that we haven't seen anything from At World's End.

agreed, it would be awesome to see a HMS Endeavour set or Singapore set with Sao Feng

I don't know of anyone posted this before, but I found this on the internet. It's a model of the Flying Dutchman from Lego Pirates of the Caribbean the video game.

I hope that if the LEGO group makes the Flying Dutchman, it would be like this :D

Don't count on it, m'lord. :pirate_sad2:

I wish they would do the small ships from the "Hoist the Colours" scene. :purrr:

@Napoleon

I agree. Another interesting set would be Shipwreck Cove, as a mini, or the debating room thingy in Shipwreck Cove. In that set, they could put tiny little ships on the table/map, the likes of which are used for planning battles. Some interesting minifigs could go with that set too, i.e Gentleman Jocard, Hector Barbossa, Mistress Chang, etc.

Sorry, to bring sad news, but I check with one of my source's today....the Lego rep told him when he asked about any more POTC....the answer was NO MORE POTC, it's finished. :pir_bawling:

Again, sorry to pass on the sad news. :pir-cry_sad:

Too bad, you'll never know if they'll release another wave next summer (2013) when the new movie arrives. Time to save up the money. Thanks for the news.

Sweet! Clearance sale, here we come. :pir-cry_happy:

But aside from myself being able to finally get some of these wonderful but expensive sets, I feel for all the fans and hope they'll bring it back when the next movie hits. :)
