How about lots of the small ships from Hoist the Colors as independent sets? I think I suggested this a while ago. I think smaller one-to-two mid-section ships would sell like hotcakes.

When I was younger, I wrote descriptions for about two years of pirate sets centered around a generic soldier faction patterned on the Dutch. I think I called it 'High Seas." It was much, much more like the planned-but-never-released Europa theme from the 80's, and less like regular pirates. I might have to try that again with perhaps PotC instead, just in case Lego ever does check in here.

Macoco, have you guys seen/heard of any 2012 POTC sets besides the Flying Dutchman? Because the POTC line can be nominally over next year even if the Flying Dutchman set is released, just as the Pirates line ended in 2009 even with the subsequent release of the IFS in 2010.

I think there was an indication in the post of a final wave of POTC and the Dutchman is the last set and is the D2C.

Yeah, I kind of heard that too. I don't know for sure but, I would bet my wager on it. It just doesn't make sense for Lego to release only a few of the main characters of the series and skip characters like like pintel and regetti and some of the undead pirates etc...

Ah, I'm glad to hear this! No offense to the FD, but it will be a bit useless as they won't give it it's full cannon complement, the captain's cabin will be tiny, there won't be a gun deck, and there'll be not very many figs, so we best hope for Pintel and Ragetti.

Sincerely, I'm really anxious to see the first, at least, preliminary image of the FD! ;)

The only thing with potential mini figs that may come with the FD (if its produced) is that we could be getting doubles of the mini figs that come with the Black Pearl? I mean pretty sure that Jack will be there and you can't have the FD without Davey Jones... maybe a Will Turner with a scar on his chest? Its just my speculation though... although I wouldn't mind having an extra Davey Jones

Now to pick up a Black Pearl next time when I head south of the boarder

Perhaps the Dutchman will be a last hurray for the line as a Lego S@H exclusive, like what's happened in HP and Kingdom's !

But I doubt there will be any more general release sets, especially that dealer I spoke too had asked the state rep who is quite good with his information (I was told about a ninja theme series in August 2010 by the same guy).

we may indeed get a davy jones but mabye also Cutler Beckett, admiral Norrington (uniform) and E.I.T.C. soldiers just like in At World's End when they all come aboard and talk to davy that he is "a loose canon'

Aye, I'd me revolted if Beckett wasn't in any sets; he's the main bad guy in two out of four movies!

I hope the Flying Dutchman does have some unique minifigs. TLG are over doing some of the minifigs at the moment and for no good reason really :-/

Oh, and for UK members, might be of interest to note that at the moment, Tesco direct has QAR for £76.00.

Now if we do get Beckett then we will also need the HMS Endeavour won't be hard for lego to do just re-release the Imperial Flagship (I missed out on it so anyway I can get my hands on one would be good) and the Hai Peng would be interesting to add into the wish list as well that could open up many possibilities for minifigs too

For Tortuga I could see a tavern (I know they've done one already, but pirates frequent a lot of taverns!) and small dock. (Maybe a pig-sty as well)

With: Scarlett, Giselle, Mr Gibbs (and pigs?) a few random pirates.

But i guess you can leave out the executioner too because of Lego's anti-violence policy.
