I believe the original source admitted it was all a fake seeing who would fall for it.

More reliable sources, such as Sir Gareth, have said they haven't heard anything yet.

We are only in August though. To be honest I didn't expect to hear anything this ealry on.

I am kind of glad that it was fake though, I mean lets be honest who wanted just four sets? I know right now we don't even know if the line is continuing but it is highly likely that it will. We all know Lego wants to make money and please the fan base (in the main) so missing out on a theme like this would be a stupid move that I just can't see Lego making. I personally think we are going to see six sets and an UCS/D2C Flying Dutchman.

I'd rather have four than none.

It'd be a shame if this line doesn't come back.

I can't see how it wouldn't come back to be honest. It's a perfect way of rebooting the Pirates line.

I came out of my dark ages after the last POTC line but I have managed to pick up a few key sets on the aftermarket - including the Black Pearl and Queen Anne's Revenge. I would love to be able to add the Flying Dutchman or a British ship to that.

I'm also hoping we can get a nice building or two in there. With no active historic theme at the moment, this could be a good alternative.

God the wait for any news is killing me and I know it's too early for something like that but still.My guess is that we'll see the sets pictures on january when the catalogue of the first half of 2017 is released.Because the movie comes out in May so the sets will probably be released somewhere around april or march.

Sir von Lego has been giving some new info concerning the future waves for themes like Star Wars,Ninjago,Nexo Knights.

Wonder if he has some info about the PotC sets.

Can someone contact him and ask him about that??

I'm with you!!! I'm hoping and waiting to hear about these as well. Lets face it, the 2015 pirates theme was underwhelming at best. So some new POTC sets would make up for it. In hoping for a black pearl rerelease and a flying Dutchman.

I would also love for another Black Pearl since I missed the original but I doubt that we'll get it.

Maybe we'll get to see the new bad guy's ghost ship ( Captain Salazar) or the Flying Dutchman since Will Turner will come back for the movie.

And I agree about the 2015 Pirates line,underwhelming is the right way to describe the bad taste it left to my mouth.So hopefully with the new PotC sets I might be able to wash it away.

I missed out on the original run for the POTC sets. But I have managed to pick up the queens Anne's revenge, London escape, and the mill on the after market. I love all of them tbh, and feel they are all very good sets. Better than the 2015 stuff for sure.

I choose the QAR over the black pearl in hopes that the Black Pearl gets a rerelease, so hopefully my prediction comes true. I was very doubtful the QAR would get another release.

Unfortunately I was foolish enough to let my chance slip away and didn't manage to buy those two ships when I could.

So pretty much the Brick Bounty that came last year was my first Lego ship.And now I'm not saying that the ship is bad and all but it's not the same level of quality as the BP or the QAR was.

So hopefully with the new sets I might be able to finally get a quality ship.

Well now if you were Sir von Lego or someone with a reputation of sharing reliable info I might believed you.But for now we know nothing about the sets for better or worse.

Even if what you're saying is true we might get the sets next summer instead of next spring.But I prefer the latter if any of this is true.

Looking at available sources, it looks like there will either be a) no POTC b) no POTC for the first half of next year (highly unlikely, as the movie will get released in the first half) or c) an exclusive series not available everywhere(no information, but haa happened before).

You can trust me on this if you want to do so, or just ignore me - this is just based on various different sources.

As I said earlier I think it's too early to know any solid fact about the sets unfortunately but honestly I can't imagine us not getting any sets at all given the reasons I gave above.I'm afraid we're stuck on limbo for now atleast,even thought I would give anything for a comfirmation.

Huh looking back (way back...) on the comments of this very thread and it looks to me that the guys back then had no info concerning the sets for quite some time.I mean the latest comment that I checked was from October of 2010 and they knew nothing.

My point is that this time around we might have to wait as they did back on '10 until we hear something.

But that gives me hope,it would be such a shame if this line doesn't come back for atleast one more time.

Also I myself asked Sir about the PotC sets but he didn't reply to me,for whatever reason.

Any way I still stand on what I said earlier.We'll get our definitive answer on february when it's toy fair time.

No new POTC sets would be a bummer and a huge over sight by Lego IMO. On a personal note, I'm so sick of these in house themes like Chima and Nexo Knights. I like in house themes like Castle and Pirates, but not these modern ones. Obviously I am not the target demographic, but I can still complain, lol.

The only positive thing for me with no new POTC sets is that I can officially concentrate on my Lego city. It is hard collecting for multiple themes. So my pocketbook will be happy with no new POTC, but the Lego fan in me will be sad.

Sir is a well know leaker regarding upcoming sets and his info most of the time is reliable.

And I agree with you,having no new PotC sets would be a huge miss for Lego.

Not mention it would be such shame not to have atleast one more wave.

He must not like you because he responded to me. How dare I bring credible information to this thread. I want these sets more than the next person so I am hoping he's mistaken.
