The other odd thing which I only recently picked up on was on the back of the lego Batman movie instructions rather than use a batman figure for the win sign they have a pirate, at the moment this is all speculation but a very plausible one! As of now the most likely explanation is it's a S17 figure. It's been discussed on the S17 topic. Plus we already know the only themed CMFs in 2017 will be Ninjago and Batman. Or the exclusivity of the Flying Dutchman ? I would like the Flying Dutchman (it failed on LEGO Ideas like the Ghostbuster QH, which is finally come) but having not the previous ships, even if it is an improved version of the Black Pearl, I'll take it :) Don't read too much into the Dutchman failing under Lego Ideas. We know that Lego had prototyped and developed a Dutchman, and took it fairly far into development. There were some fuzzy pictures of a prototype way way in the back of that picture of the developers room from a few years back. Plus the minifig selection for the Black Pearl kinda clearly had the Dutchman in mind. But the fact that the Ideas set failed could simply be that they had prior development work into the subject already completed under the license. I think we will either see a new Black Pearl or a ship from the new movie. Edited December 14, 2016 by Faefrost Quote

Counterpoint: they've never done a teaser like this for a licensed series, either. It may just be something they've decided to start doing in the manuals from now on, now that they no longer have LEGO Minifigures Online to promote. Quote
Ashnflash Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 The tease has been confirmed for Series 17. Also there won't be POTC CMF, we know all of the Series coming out for a while I believe. I hope that it is a new ship though, I don't want another Black Pearl unless it's really, really, really, really nice. Quote
jake0324demo Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Delta Customs has posted a new figure of a zombie shark. It may have to do with pirates of the caribbean's 2017 set. Quote
Roebuck Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) First they made it in to a robot and now a zombi Why can't they give us the normal version of the shark If that is in a pirate set I will most likely not buy it Hopefully it is in a ninjago set or similar Edited December 28, 2016 by Roebuck typo Quote
Captain Pirate Man Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 I like the idea of a zombie shark. If it's in an official set, we can rule out the Black Pearl. Quote
deskp Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Nomatter what theme it's from that new mold seems excessively unnecessary Quote

LegoRomania Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Do we know how many sets we will get? Quote
Captain Pirate Man Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 The word we have heard is just 1. But it'll be a NICE 1. Quote

There has been a few exceptions, like the snake head mold in the Simpson's line. However, I'm sure they'll find another way to use that shark mold in other themes. 3 hours ago, Legoman123 said: So do you know what the POTC set is then? No, but I've heard that the shark is indeed in the POTC set. That's about it! Stay tuned for more info Quote

azog Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 With this info its hard to say which ship is guaranteed. It could still be the black pearl because the shark could act as a side animal for kids to play with. But however the shark might be the figurehead of the new ghost ship Quote

I think the zombie variant is pretty neat, but I don't think it's gonna be the hook that gets me to buy an expensive PoC set. Ah, well. Maybe they'll find a way to work the original UA version into the Summer '17 jungle-themed sets. Edited December 27, 2016 by K_Tiger Quote
ryanrl Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 In the pictures below you can see an unidentified ship that has not yet been released as a set. Is it possible this is the D2C set that we will see next year? http://imgur.com/a/zAjpm Quote
Captain Pirate Man Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 It is a "new" ship. Why could it NOT be it? Quote
David Thomsen Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I have a feeling we've seen that ship before, and it's a prototype or something, but it would be useful to refresh my memory. Quote
azog Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Nope, this can't be the new ship for many reasons Quote
