Also I do hope that Lego continues to release POTC ships once/twice a year. Similar to what they did with the Simpsons. Maybe we could even get a CMF line. I doubt that, last time a PotC movie came out and we got a whole line of sets now only one expensive set.Looks to me that Lego doesn't really have much faith in the property.Which is a shame really. deskp Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Well this year is really crowded with licensed sets and 2 lego movies. 1 d2c i'd say is actually a really great thing (depending on the quality). if it doesn't do poorly id say a 2.set seem a very reasonable possibility. Quote

Legoman123 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 At least it's a new ship as well. As much as a larger version of the Black Pearl would have been great it would have been a repeat. My only wish was to get the Black Pearl Crew. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) I do have a feeling that we may see a D2C Black Pearl later in the year, similar to how the original was released. Edit: Sorry for the double post Edited February 3, 2017 by Legoman123 Quote

On minifigpriceguide.com, but it showed up on instagram. just a guess, but usually such leaks of new figures/parts seem to happen around the Czech Lego factory. Scarilian Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I like the concept of the Ghost shark, the additional changes to the Shark mold are nice - but i'm not a fan of that Shark mold in particular as it just seems sort of like a whale shark and not as intimidating. I'm guessing the unique Shark is going to be one of the selling points for the set. As for those debating about the ship its based on, why would'nt it be based on The Silent Mary? I mean, its the villains ship and chances are it'd create the most opportunities for a ghostly looking appearance to it that Lego would be able to give features to or create a 'broken/shipwrecked' appearance that will force the most die-hard fan into buying a second set to see how it would look completed. If they released a 'broken' ship and included instructions on how to build a 'complete' ship out of two sets, that would be the most diabolically clever way to entice me to buy two copies of the ship because I'm not interested in incomplete ghost ships.... Legoman123 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Well, I'm sure you all know it's that time of year... Superbowl! I've heard a lot of rumours that we'll see a trailer tonight, if that's the case we should see the Silent Mary and hopefully get a better idea of the set. Quote
Ashnflash Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) So just saw the trailer on TV. My jaw was open the whole time! And for those still unsure about the Shark, you see it in the trailer so ya! They said there was an extended on online but I can't find it, please share if you do! SO EXCITED!!! FOUND IT!!! GoldenNinja3000 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Yeah, the shark looks really accurate. Hope they put the bird in the set too. Super excited for the movie and the ship! Quote
azog Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 um is it just me or does the silent mary look weird for a lego set. Like trust me I already know it is the silent mary is the ship were getting. But it looks like were not getting a hull section at all. Also it would have to be flexible. Quote

It's not just you, I'm also wondering how they'll pull it off. Maybe just a normal hull with printed or stickered pieces showing gaps between the wood? I'm sure it'll be amazing whatever direction they went in. Quote
Ashnflash Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 The set could be the Dutchmen, you see it in the first few seconds of the trailer. It would be a nice cash grab for LEGO because it would tie into the old movies as well as this new one. Quote

So we have a 95% chance that its going to be the silent mary. I am very interested though how there going to pull this one off. I could see lego doing that for sure GoldenNinja3000. I couldn't see it any other way. Quote
GoldenNinja3000 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 If it's the Dutchman, I would cry with joy because I've wanted one since 2011. But yeah, I bet it's the Silent Mary. I think that the Lego set will look great even if it doesn't look like the movie. Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) I am somehow disapointed... Spot looks reaaly good, and acording to the director we can expect the biggest sea battle in cinematic history, but Lego...I was hoping for normal pirate ship - Pearl or Dutchman...Now since I saw Silent Mary I am afraid about the Lego form result.. I bet that minifigs will be top as always and since we saw that zombie shark, i am sure that we wiil be pleased, but the ship.. Oh god, please make it good...On that blury picture we saw there is definitelly middle mast missing or lying down and also there are no sails..or no "proper" sails..so all evidence speaks for Silent Mary... :/ So we will see in couple of days... Legoman123 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 We got our first glimpse of Will Turner as well! Looking more and more like the original Davy Jones. We now know that the Queen Ann's Revenge is in the movie as well. Quote
SpiderJazz Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Love the new zombie shark mold. Very accurate! Can't wait too see Captain Salazar's minifig. Quote
