Zzz Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Penelope Cruz - I swear I thought she was replaced by her sister cause of her pregnancy. Can't find it on imdb anymore, though. Strange things happen to my memory lately.. Anyway, one thing about prices: If you leave out Star Wars (and it's 180pieces=37€ sets) I think there is already a considerable amount of "normal" system sets that are priced pretty high. For example the new Scorpion Pyramid for 100€ (800 parts), Spae Police Central (80€ for 630p) or Prison Tower Rescue (50€ for 360p). Then there are Licence sets that are priced very fairly like Indiana Jones in Venice or Alamuth Castle - or even the Tantive IV from SW with about 10€cent per piece. I would say, it depends a bit. Licences are more expensive, but not always. We might be lucky. Especially after TLC wasn't successfully selling PoP, they might chose a more rational price. We will see. On a site note, I am a bit surprised that TLC's marketing didn't include a spoiler minifig in the announcement, like the digital Indiana Jones back then. Totally strange. Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Penelope's sister was her stand-in I think I read. Please don't ask me where or when, though... Good to see it's confirmed. And eight sets, too! Wow. Excellent! The list of things I'm hoping for is far too long, but it'll be cool to see at least some of those actually come true. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me! Bring on 2011. Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 I can't wait to see some skeletons in dark tan or gray as well as a whole bunch of British soldiers. in a way this theme is an expansion of the fantasy elements of other themes into the pirates line; we have always had very 'historic" pirate sets, with no real monsters undead etc, so while some might think this isnt a good thing I can't wait to get my hands on all the unique fantasy elements these sets will bring Quote
KristofBD Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Good to see that the theme is finally confirmed. Hopefully some preliminary pictures will be available soon! Quote
Blackknight112 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 I thnk we will get some new glow in the dark pieces/ minifig parts Quote
Haltiamieli Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 $30 a smaller structure related scene. perhaps the water wheel battle. Such a set (supposing it would include at least a little bit of the mill building) would surely be loved by Castle fans too, maybe even City fans! Who wouldn't want an old half-ruinous water mill on the outskirts of his/her town, be it medieval or modern? Though if the rumours about Castle-themed wind mill coming out next year are true, there would suddenly be quite a funny abundance of available mill sets! Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Though if the rumours about Castle-themed wind mill coming out next year are true, there would suddenly be quite a funny abundance of available mill sets! Haha, then Ill have to make a Don Quixote MOC. Quote
Geertos13 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I'm so exited about this, I love Puirates of the Carrabean Quote
Vindice Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 My opinion is that the 8 sets will consist of:- Black Pearl (it's almost madatory as boys will not buy into the pirates line without this ship) Question is who comes with it, some skeletons, a couple of normal'ish pirates and either Barbossa or Sparrow Flying Dutchman or Interceptor I can't see them doing the dauntless because of the exclusive Imperial flagship, I think it would come with norrington, gilette and 3 or 4 british soldiers Tortuga or Port Royal playset with either a selection of pirates for tortuga or some soldiers, Governor Swann, Will and Elisabeth, 2 soldiers, canons and a small prison with Jack mini-fig for Port Royal Wheel battle set comes with Jack, Norrington and Will turner Battle pack featuring 2 or 3 soldiers with canon battle pack featuring 2 or 3 pirates with boat not sure on the other 2 sets but my main concern would be price points. The imperial flagship is amazing, if the Dutchman was any less than £130 (like the cargo train) or the Pearl any less than £100 (like the passenger train) then they simply won't compare. Quote
______ Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I don't think they will make battle backs sadly, star wars only does hem because they are now one of lego's core themes. Lego put that Captain Jack mini-fig on the camel I think because in a way they are comparing the new POTC line with POP, hence meaning its probably a one off license theme depending on how well the sets sell. I hope they sell really well so we at least get a line going on as long as the Indy line. However I can see the small set being the battle at the start of the third movie, then we could get a Sao Feng,(I think that is his name)Captain Jack, and some Chinese pirates. So I am really looking forward to this theme! Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Funny to see that we have filled 31 pages in this topic of which the title is spelled wrong Carribean. Quote
Plissken Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 This are really good news (Minifig Keira Knightley ) My guess for the sets are: Four sets for the new movie (like in the Indy line), so don't know what it could be. For the other four sets I would assume definitely a ship. The Black Pearl (BP) would be the first choice except it is planed for the forth film line-up. In this case I think it is going to be the Flying Dutchman (FD). Figures would be for BP: Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swan, Barbossa and one or two crew-mates. For the FD: Davy Jones, Bootstrap Bill, Jack Sparrow, maybe Will Turner and up to three additional crew-mates. Another set could be a Harbor Type. I would guess Port Royale or Shanghai. For Port Royale I think the Minifigs could be: Jack, Norrington, Governor Swan and one or two soldiers. Maybe with a part of the jail or an civilian house. Shanghai could have the following Minifigs: Sao Feng, two henchman, Elizabeth Swan and maybe Will Turner or up to two soldiers. Part of the harbor and the bathhouse. I really wish that the mill wheel battle gets a set. Includes Mill, wheel, maybe some landscape and Jack, Will and Norrington. Maybe Elizabeth or an random crew-mate. The small set could be the first fight between Jack and Will in the blacksmith store. Great possibility to get a donkey Includes Jack, Will and the Blacksmith or an more prominent Character (one of the soldiers or Norrington). Really sounds like wishful thinking, but maybe the first pictures will show up soon. Quote
Aveal the black sheep Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 it would be something like this Quote

Jargo Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 the success of the theme depends upon the success of the upcoming fourth movie. if the fourth movie is cool kids will rewatch the first three and want sets that cover all the four movies so four waves could be possible. if the movie sucks then no-one will want POTC sets. this has potential to be as cool as the Indy theme with room for lots of sets but also has the potential to bomb disastrously after the first few sets. mobricki Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 This is going to be cool I hope that they have some bigger british warships. Maybe Port Royal as well. Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Could this be one off the new sets link? Quote

Flare Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 "Escape at sea" I don't know whether Leog would name a set that, what set could it possibly be? Are you sure this source is reliable or not? I think it is, they also have the 2011 Summer Star Wars sets, some of which have been brought up as rumours from multiple sources. I'm excited for some pictures that will leak sometime soon... ? Cerlin Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) Could this be one off the new sets link? I don't know if this is a part of the upcoming POtC sets as there are eight sets in a row with similar set numbers, all of which are unnamed yet: http://www.bricklink.co.za/LEGOShop/category.php?id_category=1024 who knows? there are also sets listed with a relation to sea themes: Marina Lighthouse island Harbour maybe there's a new city harbour theme coming, too? Baylego Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) It says that the set should be released in May, so this could possibly be one. This site has shown us some new NinjaGo sets that are true, so I think this site is reliable. The set sounds like Jack Sparrow on his raft, the very first scene in the series. EDIT: I need to refresh the page before I post ! This sounds promising. Maybe we will see some set names soon! Edited November 24, 2010 by Baylego Quote
