Will we get 2 different Barbosas in this collection, one with and out the peg leg?

:pir_wacko: Since when did Barbossa have a peg-leg?

Posted

The trailer for the new movie actually highlights the peg leg.

Its just a shame we don't get a Davy Jones in this wave of PotC sets. Oh and all the Jacks in these sets better have something different about to make each one unique. Maybe different head printings, maybe a mold with just hair and maybe one with hair and his signature hat.

I think thats actualy Blackbeard.

Mr. Gray is right. Barbossa will have a wooden leg in the new movie. I didn*t find an actual screenshot but a behind the scenes one with Geoffrey Rush sporting a blue sock over his leg (for digital removing) Blue Sock. When there is a Barbossa in a Movie 4 Set it should have a peg leg. The longer I think about this line the more excited I get. Can't wait for pics.

I think it's rather unlikely that EVERY single set will have a different Jack, but seeing as what LEGO has done in the past with licensed sets, I think we might be able to see 2 or 3 different versions in this wave alone. Of course this is me just speculating and trying to make sense of it, don't quote me on it. :pir-classic:

On the Barbosa working for the English gov't aspect,

some pirates were contracted by government officials or the monarchies in said countries to hunt for treasure and the other non-"licensed" pirates.

In a way, they were pirate hunters that were also pirates

I know, but I thought they just hired whole ships with crews, instead of iving them uniforms and soldiers to back them up. I don't think there ever was any privateer commander?

How about, Sir Francis Drake, Sir Henry Morgan, etc... I think that the idea is plausible. I sure don't mind Barbossa in command of a frigate. I do hope Lego releases a frigate at some point or I am afraid barbossa will be given command of my Imperial Flagship :pirate_skel1:

Valid point you have there :pir-blush:.

Well, I like the look of Barbossa in the trailer, I would love to see his new hat in Lego. :pir-sweet:

Dunno if anyone mentioned this. I got a chance to view the Retailers' catalogue just now and saw that most PotC sets are coming in July 2011. None of them are ships. But the Black Pearl is coming in Nov 2011. No picture for the Black Pearl yet. I'm getting so excited about PotC, hopefully they can mix well with classic pirates.

Did any of the sets have pictures, or was it text only? If pictures, any details you recall? New parts, new hats, old hats in new colours...

No pictures yet. Among all the themes in the retailers' catalogue, PotC sets are the most pictures barren.

I think the Black Pearl has a set number 4148

Does this mean there will be no QAR before November then? is it still listed in the catalogue?

Why would they release the sets that conincide with the new movie in July when the movie itself comes out in May?

Aint what I've read working at Lego. I do not think we'll have to wait till then. We got Ninjago already so I think we should get pirates in our stock room by at least March or April. My manager said we might even get them in January, Lego likes to fill our stock room with new stuff when we get low on everything....

The Queen revenge set is on the last page with Black Pearl.

There are only Three pictures shown in Clouette's catalog :

Hee hee, that guy has a conch shell for a head. I bet he got teased about that at school, and that's why he joined up with the bad guys.

All the sets seem to have posters inside... I wonder what that's all about.

I think the images are still very preliminary, two of the guys on the waterwheel look identical.

Great thing! Thanks for sharing.

The mill looks quite good, although it might yet be preliminary. But it still looks much better than I thought it would.

The cannibal escape set seems to contain the cage, the throne, the fire and a hut, two cannibals and two pirates, most propably Jack and another one.

The islander harpiece with a bone on it looks great, guess I will buy it.

I don't see much on the isla de la muerta set, but it seems to contain four minifigs as well.

All of those sets look rather good, although small, as licensed sets use to be. :pir-sceptic:
