My guess would be because it will be a special large set, like Diagon Alley for Hogwarts. That seems to make the most sense to me.

Good point. Then I'm expecting something really epic.

Those pics were pretty Blurry, but did I spy Bluecoats?

I sure didn't. The wheel set sure has none, and at the other two I didn't see anything blue among the minifigures. Also would't make any sence, as there were no blue coats in the first three movies.

here are much better pictures, it's actual scans of the catalogue (even if the resulution still is not that high, but still better):

Big thanks! Pictures are always great when it comes to unreleased sets. xD

To be honest though, I'm not to fussed by what's there...the mill looks alright, but the others look like a classic big price tag for small part count. Although if anyone is in need of new brown, this is the theme! Still would have liked the yellows to continue, but it's good that LEGO is still producing some form of pirates in their absence.:pir-classic:

Thanks a lot. I can see a lot more on those pictures!

I spot some new pirates torso's, the already existing Admiral's daughter's torso (as it seems) and I believe I spot this hairpiece :pirate:

I also see that ball made of bones. With a bit of luck it's really made of bone pieces.

I believe there's also a golden spear (!) and a funny headpiece of one of Davy Jones's sailors with the shell-head.

Can't wait to see the other sets!

These are actually looking really good. I'm quite sure Elizabeth's dress is just a substitute for the preliminary pics. In fact I'm certain most of these are just fill-ins, the pirates fighting on the waterwell don't even match the ones on the corner of the packaging. There's absolutely no point judging the figs from these pictures.

I see what they've done with the waterwheel, some of the studs are facing inwards and some outwards so figs can stand inside or outside of wheel. I think the beige pieces go face inwards, and all the others face outwards. That can probably be easily changed for those who prefer aesthetics over play function.

I don't see much on the isla de la muerta set, but it seems to contain four minifigs as well.

It looks like it has Elizabeth, Barbossa, Jack and a skeleton version of Jack! That would be very interesting (skeleton with beard! :pir-tongue::pirate_skel1: ) I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the other sets too!

EDIT by Bonaparte: The same lines were repeated over and over.

The sets look pretty good, even if still very preliminary. Nothing too exciting though. I was hoping for a better design on the bone cage - as it is, it looks more like a cube than a ball. And is it just me or does the mill tower look almost as <insert that tiresome argument> as the Megabloks version? :pir_wacko:

Oh, and by the way:

I can very well imagine the Islanders having the old Islander hairpiece with one of those new small bone pieces (as seen in some 2011 Police and NinjaGo sets) stuck on top of it.

I don't mean to brag, but I told you so! :pir-tongue:

It looks like it has Elizabeth, Barbossa, Jack and a skeleton version of Jack!

Actually, according to the set description, the skeleton is Barbossa.

By the way, it would be very helpful if a mod could put those set descriptions into the first post.

Euvor, there's something wrong about your post: You're writing the same thing over and over...

:pir_wacko: I've been having lots of Internet problems lately. Thanks for fixing Bonaparte!

Actually, according to the set description, the skeleton is Barbossa.

:pir-blush: Oops! I hadn't noticed that. Does this mean we'll be getting atleast three different versions of Barbossa? I really hope so (he's my favourite character in the films :pir-grin: )!

It actually took them longer than I expected to take the pics down. There were pictures of Lego's entire 2011 line in there. I expect it's only a matter of time before we have new spy reports, though.

I'm looking at the 'fairytale and historical figures' minifig set, and the wizard seems to have a giant bottle piece that I haven't seen before. Could this be the bottle from the 'ship in a bottle' Jack Sparrow has to steal from the captain's cabin? I can't get a very good look at it because the zoom function isn't working for me at S@H.
