You mean to say that the Kylie figure is the official Elizabeth? I thought it was just a custom...

Well... since it was made by the creative director at a "certain construction company", I assume he used molds that were never released. However, it wasn't until I saw the Elizabeth Swann figure that I realized he used a "to be released" mold. So he gave us a little "sneak peek" to what we had in store for us even before LEGO announced the PotC sets.

The lack of gold on QAR is A bit disapointing. Apart from that I think it looks great!

most of the minifigs looks really cool, the OST Barbossa looks abit un-epic, an bealckbeards fuses(?) looks cartoony.

Is the guy in black clothes in the whitecap bay set Phillip? (The new companion-like character)

:pir-grin:

Queen Anne's Revenge - Epic. I love the sails and how they look worn. Looks like 3 cannons but 5 cannon ports on each side; that's rather cheap of TLG!

Aren't there six cannon ports on each side? Maybe the two at the rear and the one at the front are too awkward to get cannons to.

I like that the bottles can be printed on. Not because of the 'ship in a bottle' print, which looks kind of cheap, but in the future they can have other things printed on the bottles, like 'rum' and 'milk' and all kinds of things.

Things I am excited by that can be used with my Classic pirates: Blackbeard's hat! Tan tricorn! Gold ingots! Musketeer hats in good quality plastic! Compass! Globe! Sword harnesses!

Things that confuse me: Blackbeard's sword? Blackbeard's beard? Meh... they just don't look right. Actually, I wonder if Blackbeard's hat will look oversized without the enormous beard.

I'm still undecided as to whether I will get the sets themselves, but I'll definitely be getting a lot of the pieces. Damn the tan tricorn for only being in the most expensive set.

The QAR does look very nice, though, in dark brown and dark red. I could easily see myself getting wooed by that.

The stern looks pretty intense and could be a very fun build. The mizzen mast looks cool. I wonder if the stern windows are a big piece or made of smaller window elements. The skull heads around the stern are really cool. Interesting use of cloth pieces on the sides. This set is a must-have.

I agree with you that this is probably the most eagerly awaited set of the upcoming PotC lineup and I'm really looking forward to it and it bringing more people into Shipbuilding (I hope), but on a second thought after seeing these lovely pics:

I really have a problem with the stern design.

Well, we'll see what it's like when first reviewed, but it looks a bit cheap to me from that angle. Just two big windows and that's it!

You're right, I mis-counted. There are six on each side. That just makes it all the stranger to be short-changed on the cannons. I guess I can go buy 3 of the Cannon Battle impulses.

Well did you see all the detail with the bones/skeletons and the big hanging lantern? It may be a bit much in terms of detail if anything. I'm really liking the QAR the more I see of it.

And oh my, I didn't see the sword holsters at first glance. That's a real step forward for minifig detail. Cool.

The windows look about right to me.

A bit cartoonified, of course, and the skulls I think should have been skeleton legs, which for once would be appropriate.

I love the little canopies at the back.

The new pics certainly makes the sets appear much more impressive in general... and the QAR is awesome, nothing less. But too bad there were no pics of the London Escape, my favourite from the prelim images.

...though looking at the absurd prices, I doubt I'll be getting any of these sets. :pir_wacko:

I had completely forgotten about the London Escape set. :pir-oh3: But I didn't find it as interesting as the others, so I guess I just kind of forgot.

Anyways, I'm loving the QAR the more I look at it. I actually really like that stern design. I always liked cartoon-y stern designs. Very majestic, and IMO very nice looking. :pir-classic:

After a closer look, the 2 pirates in the captains cabin are zombies (a similar figure is also in QAR)

And I just have to say that these sets look Amazing!

Cant wait to see the London Escape set

SQUEEEE

Not sure if I want the QAR or to save up for the Pearl instead.

Seriously, how many skeleton parts are on that ship? It's incredible. I'm counting at least seven skeletorsos (two in black), nineteen skulls, four long bones, and it looks like six short bones. Can't tell how many of which type of arm pieces, though.

I just want to say Thank You, Thank you, Thank you Gwenju for posting those pictures. These sets are just too awesome. Finally a pirate ship worthy of battling my imperial flagship. I will give barbossa command over the imperial flagship and black beard command over the queen annes revenge. I am soooo excited. :pir-sweet:

Wow, this is turning out to be a really exciting licensed theme, especially with the new pics coming out (thank you very much gwenju for sharing). What's notable about these PoTC sets is the abundance of small- to mid-sized sets wherein you could actually get majority of the cool-looking figs, particularly Jack Sparrow. Isla dela Muerta, Aqua de Vida, and The Captain's Cabin are instantly on my must-buy list.

Wow - thank you gwenju, so much for sharing those pictures. I woke up in the middle of the night here in Denmark and just checked eurobricks on my iPhone for the heck of it... When I saw that new and final pics had gone up, I spent almost half an hour just looking at them.

I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the theme as a whole, and especially impressed with QAR.

What I also like is the fact that Jack Sparrow is different in each set, and you can get all the important figs like Will, Elizabeth, Jack, Barbossa and Blackbeard in the smaller cheaper sets. Great call LEGO.

Gotta love the many many new hats, hair pieces and mermaid tails, PLUS the globe and bones.

I cannot wait to get my hands on these sets!

Did anybody elso notice the over the shoulder belt with sheath piece on both the skeleton and barbossa figures on the isle de merta set? I just cannot wait for these to come out.

I was just about to say that, there is also a sheath piece in the captains cabin set. I'm glad we are finally getting a sword sheath :)

Is it just me or did anyone else notice the new 2x1 curved slopes? They are in the Captain's cabib set, in the globe stand.

Just saw them this moment. They're not on Bricklink, so they must be new.

Actually these might proove very useful for MOCs, I sort of missed such a brick while building SNOT mast platforms...

But of course there will be a lot more purposes for them. It's a nice variation to cheese slopes, isn't it? :pir-cry_happy:

Tilt your head 90 degrees

(I had the same thought initially)

But what about the colour of those cheese slopes on the globe stand? They look pink or medium nougat to me, or is it just a trick of the lighting and they're actually tan or brown? In all the pictures the colours seem strangely off.
